Mumsnet is looking for a bright, organized and experienced press officer to come and work with our busy Communications team.

If you are (or you know) an experienced press officer, with a love of biscuits and all things newsy we'd love to hear from you.

The role will include responding to press enquiries, drafting press materials, planning media activity and occasionally dragging a comb through your hair and acting as a Mumsnet spokesperson.

The role is office-based, 3/4 days a week, salary £32 -36k pro-rata, dependent on experience.

For more info. email [email protected]

@KatieMumsnet

I can't spell and have never told Justine what I got in GCSE English!

I had an inkling though Grin. Of course she makes up for it in so many other ways, it would be churlish to moan about the odd apostrophe.

SoupDragon · 20/03/2012 19:42

Are there two Olivias now?

SoupDragon · 20/03/2012 19:43

Or was Katie in charge of spelling the user names and added an extra L in?

nenevomito · 20/03/2012 19:51

I could just about twist the masses of technical documentation and business cases I write on a daily basis, but the 3 hour commute each way is just impossible.

IamtheZombie · 20/03/2012 21:08

Zombie thinks MNHQ should have a Zombie Liaison Officer.

She would be happy to fill this (Dustbin? based) position.

She is willing to discuss other terms and conditions.

googlenut · 20/03/2012 21:23

Would it be set days a week? And would you be willing to pay accommodation for someone outside of London coming there for a few nights to fit the 3/4 nights in?

googlenut · 20/03/2012 21:24

3 to 4 days

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 21/03/2012 12:12

I would like a job in design please. Based in Suffolk would be nice too...I feel you could do with a new logo office in the country...you could have some sheep grazing outside and all the other er...lovely Suffolk things.

Frontpaw · 21/03/2012 12:34

I bet they're glad they posted this ad now.

CurlyCasper · 21/03/2012 17:31

Gutted, as this is my line of work but I'm too far away Sad

Frontpaw · 21/03/2012 17:33

Gutted, as it's not serially my line of work (not too far off) and I really need a new job!

Frontpaw · 21/03/2012 17:33

Really, not serially. Bloody autocorrecting iPad.

StateofConfusion · 21/03/2012 20:29

I can make cakes, that is all.

Ever need a tea girl in east anglia, drop me a line. I make a wicked gingerbread.

KnottyLocks · 21/03/2012 22:40

Does a brush or comb come with the job?

Frontpaw · 22/03/2012 07:39

I see they've advertised on The Gruniard. Were obviously not. Good enough for them now.

What shall we do to the new Press Officer then?

WipsGlitter · 22/03/2012 08:02

Boo. But did they give the idea about a regional team any thought hopeful face

KatieMumsnet · 22/03/2012 09:58

Argghh southeastastra I'm going to have to sack myself now! Yes, we might well be able to stretch to throwing a comb in with the job!

Tis in the Guardian too to make sure as many people as possible see the ad - we've had lots of responses already, but if you're interested do email in x

SoupDragon · 22/03/2012 10:02

Is the grauniad advert worded exactly the same as the one in the OP?

WipsGlitter · 22/03/2012 10:03

Even for the regional team idea?

Pagwatch · 22/03/2012 10:53

I would love this job. I have no experience and would feet very red and flustered if anyone pointed a camera at me. Or if I had to speak in front of more than two or three people.

But I am quite nice, I would bring biscuits and I have would buy a great new wardrobe.
Worth a punt?
