Mumsnet is looking for a bright, organized and experienced press officer to come and work with our busy Communications team.

If you are (or you know) an experienced press officer, with a love of biscuits and all things newsy we'd love to hear from you.

The role will include responding to press enquiries, drafting press materials, planning media activity and occasionally dragging a comb through your hair and acting as a Mumsnet spokesperson.

The role is office-based, 3/4 days a week, salary £32 -36k pro-rata, dependent on experience.

Acsherly organization is correct. I have checked this with the OED

See, I'd be great at the job, and can spell too, I even have my own baking company, but if I tell you that I use locally produced maple in my cookies, you'll realise that a daily commute is just not going to fly.

Could be your US correspondent?

I'm not an experienced press officer but I can learn. Wink and I can even bake biscuites. Wink

Pag you would be perfect. Start watching the West Wing and take some pointers from CJ Cregg. You'll soon pick it up. Experience, Schexperience. You could do it like a pro. Plus Justine loves you, because the Mumsnet Rules book reads like the Pagwatch Annual. WinkGrin

APPLY! APPLY! APPLY!

SoupDragon · 22/03/2012 13:23

"I wonder has any job ever got so many applications from so many totally unqualified people"

Yes, funnily enough.

the last job MNHQ made the mistake of advertising on the site!

kickass the OED is famously wrong on -ze versus -se endings. I switched to Chambers years ago as it agrees with me on this very imprtant point.

LadyWellian · 22/03/2012 13:47

Blush although not on the presence or otherwise of an 'o' in 'important'

kickassangel · 22/03/2012 14:01

Lady w I still stand by the Z. Dh worked for a company in the UK that insisted on it.

Plus we only switched to S cos we thought that Frenchifying words looked all chic and elegant. Th yanks are actually more traditional in their spelling

Oh, and the OED cannot be wrong. Ever. (hoiks bosom)
