Mumsnet is looking for a bright, organized and experienced press officer to come and work with our busy Communications team.

If you are (or you know) an experienced press officer, with a love of biscuits and all things newsy we'd love to hear from you.

The role will include responding to press enquiries, drafting press materials, planning media activity and occasionally dragging a comb through your hair and acting as a Mumsnet spokesperson.

The role is office-based, 3/4 days a week, salary £32 -36k pro-rata, dependent on experience.

For more info. email [email protected]

I always like a man in lippy - but perhaps that's too much Adam Ant as a kid (god I sound old).

Job open to everyone - just looking for the best candidate - so men and women - please do apply!

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 10:18

Sorry - has to be primarily office based - we've found there are times we just need to be able to bounce ideas off each other and turn things around quickly. The office is in North London (with quite good links to Kings x etc).

Previous press people still here - just drinking more tea!

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 10:29

Perfect! Think of the books you'd get to read on the commute! Hmmmm, think you might have to wait 'till our world domination

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 11:10

Oooh, now I'd love to be a doctor - perhaps we could have a job swap on a Weds! Could I borrow your white coat?

Job starting date ASAP - but with a little flex for the right candidate. Sorry - should have put a closing date on the OP - 6th April.

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 12:44

Lots of press people making the move over to press office - so why not apply? Writing will be a key part of the role - so that bit is very relevant.

I can't spell and have never told Justine what I got in GCSE English!

OliviaLMumsnet · 20/03/2012 17:18

@DoodleAlley

Do you need an official procrastinator? I feel I could be your ideal candidate.

Tbh I'd probably work for just tea and biscuits.

I could send you my details....tomorrow...maybe Thursday...

You're alright Doodle, I've had that role wrapped up since, well, since I got here. Grin

@KatieMumsnet

I can't spell and have never told Justine what I got in GCSE English!

I had an inkling though Grin. Of course she makes up for it in so many other ways, it would be churlish to moan about the odd apostrophe.

Argghh southeastastra I'm going to have to sack myself now! Yes, we might well be able to stretch to throwing a comb in with the job!

Tis in the Guardian too to make sure as many people as possible see the ad - we've had lots of responses already, but if you're interested do email in x
