Mumsnet is looking for a bright, organized and experienced press officer to come and work with our busy Communications team.

If you are (or you know) an experienced press officer, with a love of biscuits and all things newsy we'd love to hear from you.

The role will include responding to press enquiries, drafting press materials, planning media activity and occasionally dragging a comb through your hair and acting as a Mumsnet spokesperson.

The role is office-based, 3/4 days a week, salary £32 -36k pro-rata, dependent on experience.

For more info. email [email protected]

Ooh! I love biscuits.... shame I'm in a different field though Grin

NickNacks · 20/03/2012 09:57

Will a man be required to wear lippy should he get the job???

Or is it open to females only? :)

ripsishere · 20/03/2012 09:58

You don't need a bright, organised, experienced cleaner do you? I'll even leave your biscuits alone.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/03/2012 10:01

Wish I could but i've only just become a mum so timing is definitely off. Let me know if you still need someone in a year...!

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 10:03

I always like a man in lippy - but perhaps that's too much Adam Ant as a kid (god I sound old).

Job open to everyone - just looking for the best candidate - so men and women - please do apply!

Hhmmm you don't need a home based person do you? That way I'd only eat my own biscuits.....and I am freaking miles away....Grin

Sorry - has to be primarily office based - we've found there are times we just need to be able to bounce ideas off each other and turn things around quickly. The office is in North London (with quite good links to Kings x etc).

Previous press people still here - just drinking more tea!

Kings cross is good....I can get there from Scotland....Grin

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 10:29

Perfect! Think of the books you'd get to read on the commute! Hmmmm, think you might have to wait 'till our world domination

TheCunningStunt · 20/03/2012 10:32

I know an excellent recruiter who specialises in this area. Ahem. Grin

nenevomito · 20/03/2012 10:49

Damn. The west coast line stops at Euston.

Damn. Also not a press officer.

Any need for a regional correspondant?

nenevomito · 20/03/2012 10:50

Correspondent.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/03/2012 10:54

Hmmm do you need a mumsnet doctor? I'd love to come and work for you and I'm just up the road.

FrankWippery · 20/03/2012 10:55

Hmmmm. Sounds like something I'd fancy actually. When's it to start?

HJisgoingtogoBOOM · 20/03/2012 11:10

Lol at all the people who just want the biscuits Grin
Also not a press officer, anywhere near London but wanting biscuits

KatieMumsnet · 20/03/2012 11:10

Oooh, now I'd love to be a doctor - perhaps we could have a job swap on a Weds! Could I borrow your white coat?

Job starting date ASAP - but with a little flex for the right candidate. Sorry - should have put a closing date on the OP - 6th April.

Thanks KatieMN, I shall have a little think and put some stuff together.

CoffeeMummy · 20/03/2012 11:19

Aw, I want this job!! Don't suppose you'd fancy moving the whole MN shebang up to Dundee...?

NorfolkNChance · 20/03/2012 11:20

Not a press officer (but teaching has some similarities doesn't it? surely? ) would love to work for MNHQ and biscuits seal the deal!

Giyadas · 20/03/2012 11:27

Is Matt O'Connor not free then? Grin
