Will MNHQ consider installing a 'Hide Poster' function?

Get0rf · 02/01/2012 19:04

This has been raised a couple of times, just wondering if MNHQ had any plans to make this an option.

Would be nice to hide the couple of Mners who genuinely get me riled up.

@Get0rf

Mary's last post has just made my whole request for a hide poster function argument disappear in Lenin's puff of smoke.

MNHQ I will never darken your doors again

Well I wanted to expand the colour-co-ordination of the posts a bit.

I wanted a list of posters who I like, who could be maybe sunshine yellow.

And then ones who are bitter and angry who could be red.

And trolls and gobshites could be black (so I didn't see the writing)

And boring people could be a dull dark grey (so I couldn't see them either).

Etc, etc. I wanted all new posts read and allocated to the various categories.

I suggested it to Olivia, but she said she was too busy to individualise the site for me Shock. Imagine that, too busy to do such a small thing for me Sad.

scottishmummy · 02/01/2012 23:01

no one on mn has impacted significantly enough to hide posts or dislike

Get0rf · 02/01/2012 23:01

Actually don't hold me to that Olivia.

I want to bore on and on and on about topic lists and the changing thereof.

Mary Doll you are like a FOUNTAIN of fab ideas. I want the colour thing. Come on MNHQ, it's 2012, how hard is a few colours?

Not me, Rubes, it's Gerrof calling everyone that Rude Word. I'm just tellin em.

MaryZed · 02/01/2012 23:02

I agree absolutely about the topic list GetOrf. And the like button. And AIBU.

And I reserve the right to bang on and on remind Olivia about them occasionally.

Get0rf · 02/01/2012 23:03

Actually, another thing, can we have some more colours for the customise shit?

I know MN is all very tasteful and has *wallpaper magazine approved colours such as olive and pale green, but please can we have some fandabidozee working class colours such as bright turquiose and various shades of violent yellow and pink?

Jux · 02/01/2012 23:07

I think it's a bad idea for all the reasons custy stated.

scottishmummy · 02/01/2012 23:10

inevitably when hide poster list known, tears and recriminations
why am I on it?
why am I not on it
bit like mn oscars with a twist

Get0rf · 02/01/2012 23:11

But how would anybody know about the hide poster list.

It's not as if a MNer would post 'you and x and y are on my hidden list, you pieces of shit'

Oh hang on

OP posts:
yellowraincoat · 02/01/2012 23:12

Tears, really?! Because someone doesn't want to see your posts? I mean, sheee-it, I'm sensitive, not that sensitive though.

MaryZed · 02/01/2012 23:12
Grin

It would be fun as well, to pm people and say "did you know that GetOrf has hidden you Shock"

The shit would hit the fan in a big way.

scottishmummy · 02/01/2012 23:13

lol, like all things on mn there would be a list
some secretive whisper, inevitably leaked from fb and twitter

scottishmummy · 02/01/2012 23:17

yep,that's bout size of it
then we'd all be preening and hoping to be on a hide list
else imagine the ignominy of being so innocuous,so middle of road that no one ever thought how very dare you!are you drunk?

Get0rf · 02/01/2012 23:17

I wouldn't be upset if I was ignored.

That is pretty much the default position anyway.

have you been stalked?
have mnhq ever asked you tone it down?
are you on a hide poster list?
