YY for a sticky out tongue smiley.
Do you think Helen will give us one since she's our new best friend?

UrsulaBuffay · 10/11/2011 19:47

All of your mums are ugly stupid idiots and that kind of person should fuck off :)

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe · 10/11/2011 20:03

Actually [serious face] I do wish mnhq would only delete personal attacks if the recipient has reported them. If the recipient is happy to take it on the chin then why delete the personal attacks? It only clears up some nasty behaviour on the part of the poster.

I was v frustrated that an deeply stupid and childish attack on me involving much swearing by a poster I simply cannot abide was deleted because someone else reported it!! I wanted it to stand as evidence of what a deeply unpleasant person that MNetter is, but now tis all wiped away and sprayed with Dettox.

UrsulaBuffay · 10/11/2011 20:08

Because someone's child could be looking over their shoulder and see a swear! Wink

LeBOF · 10/11/2011 20:14

Hmm, that wouldn't really work though, Bibs. For a start. It makes the site look pretty unwelcoming, which nobody except the oldies wants. And if the onus is on the recipient to report, then the dick head who insulted them has the triumph of knowing they actually offended or upset them, rather than just that they'd crossed a line in terms of the site rules. It would make it quite hard for people to report anything because they would either lose by looking 'bovvered', or they'd fear the insulter would crow over them for being a clarty tattletale.

I think it's better that reporting can be done by anyone in anonymity.

I have long suspected that MNHQers are posting incognito on some threads. And I know for a fact no I don't but I want it to sound good that Helen joins in the X factor threads.

Yy to only deleting if the PA-ee reports the post.

UrsulaBuffay · 10/11/2011 20:23

I'm spreading a rumour cultivating a theory that OliviaMumsnet is the Poo Troll...

You might think that. She couldn't possibly comment.

MmeLindor. · 10/11/2011 20:30

:o good guess, huh?

Will be watching the posters on the XF thread very closely

UrsulaBuffay · 10/11/2011 20:31

Oh, um hullo Olivia

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 21:33

Not everyone knows there's a report button, or when to use it. If I came across someone I thought was a newbie getting beaten up, reporting would seem like the right thing to do. If it was any of you tough old biddies lovely ladies of course you can take care of yourselves.

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 22:21

Olivia did ds have a lovely party?

(Ask dh who he knows that might know etc etc etc)

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 22:25

don't fear it's not weird or stalkery or anything

OliviaMumsnet · 10/11/2011 22:52

Hello, yes, thank you he did. Grin
I now have a house full of cake Grin
Don't be worried, know you're not a stalker.

good good

MsBrian · 11/11/2011 10:27

No offense Ursula but it's ridiculous to suggest Olivia is the Poo Troll. I think she is the Poo Troll Patrol.

UrsulaBuffay · 11/11/2011 11:22

Well yes, but she does always seem to be at the scene of the crime. I've seen A LOT of Poirot.

I find it rather telling that the 'Other Forum' have now closed their public status, making them effectively a secret site.

Oh well, I suppose it's just another of many secret sites that likes to slag off Mumsnet in private and I suppose if they want to re-join Mumsnet at any stage, they can't have the comments they made about the site out in the open can they?

Will these secret sites now become a Christmas tradition? I think they should!

LeBOF · 11/11/2011 11:51

Happens everywhere. Blogs too Wink

Pinot · 11/11/2011 12:01

You can be a member of both fora at the same time. It's not exclusive. Or it wasn't last time I looked. And not sure it's strictly fair to label it as an anti-MN forum, it's just a new forum, that's all. Sure some folk are slagging MN but they're prolly also slagging NetMums, y'know. And Per Una. And Cher Lloyd, possibly.

Disclaimer - I'm feeling very 'peace and love' today as just finished a veh good book that was SO SAD in the end. Have wept my mazzy off and feel the need to embrace you all in my bozoom.

LeBOF · 11/11/2011 12:09

What was the book?
