I'm regretting ever getting in to this, but I still am sorry DogsBestFriend has gone.

RustyBear · 10/11/2011 18:12

She might have had more in Chat that have disappeared, maryz. Only MNHQ will have the full grime sheet...

LeBOF · 10/11/2011 18:12

I still think "Off you fuck, cuntychops" should be reinstated.

LeBOF · 10/11/2011 18:13

Or, Rusty, even more on threads where she was SO rude that they pulled the whole thing? Nah...Grin

chipping... i report and flag it up the same way i would on any forum. Just because its not aimed at me doesn't make it ok.

But the problem with this Galaxy is then the person you are having a blazing row debating with, thinks you have reported them, when in fact you considering reporting posts to be generally beneath you, and its extremely frustrating when you want their views to stand to be seen by everyone.

YEP.

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe · 10/11/2011 18:28

Oh bolleaux! I do so hate it when dh is at home and we are vair busy doing stuff around the house (preparing for 4 weeks of no-kitchen-hell while we get refurbished) and therefore I cannot spend the day on the scandalous threads on Mumsnet Angry.

I report advertisers/scammers/non-aibuers (occasionally) and extremely hateful disgusting posts aimed at people who don't deserve it.

bibbity - I agree with reporting all of those (well except the non-aibuers but we wont there Grin), it's the 'Oh do feck off you idiot' type things that I think people are just being far too precious about... things like 'You are an idiot' or 'you are a liar'

I report from time to time but either I'm good at avoiding bunfights, or else people behave better around me (apparently) or else it goes right over my head (easily done with a Nome I suppose)

ConstanceNoring · 10/11/2011 18:42

I agree that personal attacks should not be deleted unless the receiver wishes them to be.

Perhaps it would also be a good idea, if a post was reported and MNHQ agreed it was out of order, that a note added to it to the effect of "MNHQ find this post to be breaking guidelines/rules". This would serve to indicate to the offender that they were being a twat their conduct was unasseptible, and to demonstrate to everyone else what a twat they were was deemed out of order.

This would have been very telling a little while back when....

...oh never mind I can't be bothered to tell the story, you wouldn't believe me anyway as it was long since deleted.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 18:48

That's a good idea, Constance.

And go on, tell us the rest!

HedgeHop · 10/11/2011 18:50

Sheesh.

Good idea Constance. Some posts (e.g. hate speech) always require deletion but in other cases that might have a better effect - as well as stopping all the 'what did she say?' posts following a deletion.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/11/2011 18:55

Helen Mumsnet has replied personally to my two posts.

I've got to go out now, otherwise we could have had a nice little chat.
