are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:
BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 17:48

Hello Hedge weren't you here earlier? Grin

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 17:50

I have a dog. I want a log though.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 17:50

No, beyond, there's just an echo in here!

HelenMumsnet · 10/11/2011 17:51

@LeBOF

There's a log? Shock

Oh, we log EVERYTHING.

That was your 42768th post, LeBOF....

HedgeHop · 10/11/2011 17:51

Hello Beyond yes, and am confused.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 17:51

BIWI it is not an absurd accusation to make when Justine herself said...

Happy to consider lifting a ban - obviously if loads of people think we should - but I do think the Doghouse has to change and I'm not sure if DBF can moderate her posting style - currently it's very anti the spirit of the site

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 17:52

Well, clearly, Justine made the decision based on what she had read as well as her own opinion.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/11/2011 17:52

Yes BIWI I've read this and all the other threads.
But I'm a grown up, I can take personal insults on an anonymous forum.
I think some people need to get a thicker skin.

LeBOF · 10/11/2011 17:54

And how many out of those 42768 posts have been deleted, Helen, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm going to take the stats to that boffin maths thread and get them to work out, in percentage terms, exactly how rude I am Grin

HelenMumsnet · 10/11/2011 17:54

You may be able to, LadyBeagleEyes, but lots of other people may not.

Our Talk Guidelines are there for a reason: we want Mumsnet to be about reasonable, reasoned, smart, funny, passionate debate, not about who can post the most insults.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 17:54

I dont have a dog or a log. Or a frog.
I am thinking of starting a troll spreadsheet though Grin

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 17:54

Hully - yes you do sound like GF.

Grin
LeBOF · 10/11/2011 17:55

Miss miss, personal insult from chipping!!!

HedgeHop · 10/11/2011 17:56

I think you should un-ban her.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 17:56

GalaxyWeaver

we may as well have a free for all and no moderation

Best suggestion you've made all day Grin

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 17:56

Leading to the question, if someone asks, "am I being an idiot" and you reply "yes, you are an idiot", is that a personal attack?

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 17:57

I think she needs to have a good hard think to herself first and stay in her room until she's prepared to play naice

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 17:57

Beyond Grin

She bloody well asked!!!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 17:58

Grin at hullys deletion!!

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/11/2011 17:58

Grin at Beyond.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 10/11/2011 17:58

But why should you take them LBE? You or anybody else? Even if you can just shrug them off, why should you have to be subjected to them in the first place?

It's not right to put the responsibility on the person being attacked by saying they should grow a thicker skin and take it, when it is actually the responsibility of the person doing the attacking to control themselves or face the consequences that come with being reported.
