I think it is one of the most old fashioned, user-unfriendly site I've ever seen Shock.

We can't reply to a particular person; we can't particularly see if someone has asked us something and it's just messy.

Anyone else think the same Hmm

Blush - i wast trying to emulate certain other forums - sorry.

FlutterbyPurpleToffee · 31/08/2010 21:39

Grr @ portblacksand! I was trying to figure it out too!

PortBlacksand · 31/08/2010 21:40

Blush - and prove a point iyswim

thumbwitch · 31/08/2010 21:57

Good point PrrtBlackSand (if painfully made!)

However, quoting might be bad form but sometimes it is necessary to explain which part of the post someone is taking issue with.

MN is great the way it is. It is soooo easy to read in comparison with almost any other fucking annoying forum with their indented/boxed/different coloured quote facilities - I love that most of the page is actually typed message from each poster, instead of only being able to fit 5 messages to a page because of all the shit that goes with each poster (avatar, photo, stupid schmaltzy quotes under their names, tickers, likes, emoticons etc.)

Like Cakes, I think a timed edit facility would be useful especially if one is a pedant and hates making typo spelling mistakes, which one always spots the instant on presses "post message".

Don't like it, go elsewhere. Simple.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 31/08/2010 22:00

Quoting would be a terrible idea - imagine how long the threads would get!!

Is MN really cumbersome to use? I don't find it so, I think it is really straightforward and easy to use.

thumbwitch · 31/08/2010 22:05

me too Alibaba - the easiest one to use of any other I've tried.

Hulababy · 31/08/2010 22:09

No, sorry OP - don't agree.

MN is fine as it is. Nice and simple, nothing to get in the way. Dead easy to use IMO.

CakeandRoses · 31/08/2010 22:49

oi sarky @ southeastra Wink - tis not underlined in new, only classic!

prettybird · 31/08/2010 22:51

In terms of an "edit" facility, we do have the option of doing a "preview" before we post.

But I suspect that I am not the only one who usually doesn't bother using the preview facility as I am so keen to get my contribution posted! BlushGrinHmm

nannynick · 31/08/2010 23:05

Yep, want to post far too quick to use Preview each time. Though I really should try to use it more when posting links, as I do mess them up even after many years practice.

BoffinMum · 31/08/2010 23:10

All I want is an iPhone app. Then my life will be complete.

CakeandRoses · 01/09/2010 08:01
