Looks like Bexley results could be the 16th or earlier. . . Chis and Sid have put the following on their open day page:

'These events will be bookable from 16th October (once the results of the Bexley Selection Test have been released). Details on how book will be updated here in due course.'

When you click in to the bookings it advises the open days will be bookable from 4pm on the 16th so perhaps that will be results day. They are only allowing one parent with one child entry 🤯

Hey anyone rang to Trafford consortium for exam results date?

If you find this out, I’d be very interested to know. I wonder how much notice they’re planning on giving us? I’m getting impatient!

I’m still hoping it will be this Friday as Bexley Grammar open days will be bookable by Saturday 11th and only selective children are allowed.

Oooh fingers crossed! I'm not planning to visit BGS as not anticipating a top 180 score and we've never previously been in catchment. Chis and Sid plus Beths seem to admit from a much wider area though and most years we seem to have been within their boundaries.

So have I got this right that for the likes of Dartford Grammar (Kent test) for example that once they have filled their local postcode places they will then allocate on score basis alone regardless of distance, but Bexley do it the other way around and outside of the top 180 it's all on distance just so long as a child is considered selective? Or have I got that wrong?

I’m not an expert on Dartford but Bexley is as you say. Top 180 then after that a pass is a pass and it goes on distance.

I heard from one of the parents that it might be on the Thursday a week before the half term, so hopefully on the 16th.

No this is north London sorry for the confusion

Greig city??

Yes! Their extra curriculars are impressive

Hopefully! I’ve heard that but have also heard the Thursday directly before half term, so 23rd. I really don’t want to wait that long!

RussianDoll777 · 08/10/2025 17:46

Slough consortium results have been confirmed as 20th October. That seems a long way away!

troppibambini6 · 08/10/2025 18:10

@dadsbabelast year it was the Tuesday before half term. Also the day after st Ambrose results st Ambrose is Monday 20th this year so I think it might be Tuesday 21st for the consortium.

Lamarais · 08/10/2025 18:28

DAO is October 24th. Literally the last possible minute. Probably so nobody can call the school as they’ll close for half term. Bet they send them and then run out and lock the doors.

Time has never moved so slowly.

BdayQ · 08/10/2025 22:35

@Dadsbabe I’ve just read on another forum that someone called Stretford Grammar, who said the results would be out the Thursday or Friday the week before half term. But I don’t know whether that means the Thursday/Friday directly before the half term week (23rd/24th) or as in the full week before that (16th/17th)
This whole situation is turning me into a madwoman! DC isn’t even talking about it anymore but it’s on my mind way too much! Just wish they would hurry up with the results now or at least give some indication as to when they will be.

Hard agree on time moving slowly. The months before the exam just seemed to fly by; the handful of weeks between exam and results have been reduced to a painful crawl.

31 hours to go for the Bucks crowd. 1,860 minutes. 111,600 seconds...

Rooting for you! So close now. We have one set next week and then one the week after.

For anyone applying to grammar schools who do the IB (eg Bexley GS, Dartford GS, Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls) - the Government are slashing funding for the IB.
https://observer.co.uk/news/national/article/labour-cuts-funding-for-state-school-ib-diplomas
May be worth being aware of this and possibly asking what the school will do. Eg switch to A levels. It is expensive to deliver the IB, and maybe not possible longterm with this on the horizon (not sure).

TeaandHobnobs · 09/10/2025 11:25

@DolphinOnASkateboard when the email came through yesterday (?) from Bucks council to confirm the result would be emailed by 4pm Friday, my heart skipped a little beat! (Before I clocked what the email actually was… and knowing we won’t get the result until Friday 😆)

AmIAloneInThinking · 09/10/2025 11:51

Ok so Bexley GS have changed their website this morning. . . . looks like it will be 16th or 17th for results 😕

Our Open Morning sessions have been rescheduled as a result of the Selection Test results being released later than first advised and will now take place on the following dates:
Tuesday 21st October 2025
Wednesday 22nd October 2025
Thursday 23rd October 2025
Please keep checking here for the latest updates.

Like 50% of the schools in Bexley, my kid’s school is on half term that week and we are on holiday so my daughter can’t go to see BGS which is her provisional first choice.

To say we are pissed off would be an understatement.

SFV · 09/10/2025 12:30

I can't stand the waiting... it's literally been the worst part about all of this! It's driving me nuts. Just tell me one way or the other :(

But the LA must know that in terms of the half term dates?! What a total cock up!

I wonder if something has happened eg they’ve had to make an allowance for a child sitting it very late or something??

The issues is that it’s about half the primaries and secondaries and not the Grammers.

I’m sure it must have been incredibly difficult to put the multiple choice sheets in the machine that reads them!

Can you imagine if GCSE and A level results didn’t come out on time!

And that’s thousands of papers that each have to be fully read…
