Did your child got an email confirmation when they accepted the place?

No they didn't get confirmation. But if you try to click on the link again, it will say that it's already been submitted.

Wimbomum · 13/03/2025 12:53

No, and I was worried because (for some reason) we only have an Applicaa portal for my son, not for me, so I can’t see any Offer Status info. I emailed Student Services to check that they’d received the acceptance form and the pack and this is what they said…

We have not set up our spreadsheet yet because we are still dealing with the admission process. Please dont worry if you have sent your form, thank you. if we have not got your forms we would tell you.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Sam

Wimbomum · 13/03/2025 12:54

And they just sent this!

You won't really need the portal now everything will be sent via email so just be sure to check emails and your junk emails as sometimes they end up in there.

Thanks

Sam

we had an acceptance email yesterday but portal hasn't updated x

Ejulesd · 13/03/2025 21:29

We also filled in forms but it didn't update the portal or get a confirmation email. As someone said earlier, the form says it has been filled in so hopefully all is well.

Hi all, my daughter auditioned for dance and got a spot on reserve. I emailed the school asking for her number and they said they do not provide that info and base it of scores when a spot opens . She has appealed and just wondering when we could hear back if anyone knows

I feel for them; they are probably getting lots of queries from nervous parents, people on waiting lists, etc

Does anyone have any idea of the likelihood of getting in on the reserve list. I can't imagine that for a school like the Brit that there is much movement. I am especially interested in the theatre strand, trying to manage expectations without having much info! Thank you

Not a clue I'm afraid. My DS is also on reserve for theatre. I've said that reserve means there's a chance but it's unlikely so let's focus on how to make the most of his current school (thankfully he is pretty happy there). I've also written to Brit asking for feedback on his workshop and interview - if they can provide that I'll give it to DS so he can (hopefully) develop and try again for year 12 if it's still what he wants. I may be a bit pessimistic but I'm preparing DS for not getting in on reserve as I'd rather he had a nice surprise than go into year 10 still with his heart set on something that is very unlikely to happen.

GSLJK76 · 14/03/2025 17:48

My friends daughter was on the reserve list last year so it is possible! Appeals - not so possible! Hope this helps

JustRu · 15/03/2025 13:35

Our friend who got a place last year said one girl she knew was offered a place the day before the term started and had to drop everything and reorganise herself as wasn’t expecting to get in by that time. She was on the reserve list so be prepared anything can happen.

midwifefevzi · 15/03/2025 16:37

Does anyone know how many spaces there were for each strand?

Ejulesd · 15/03/2025 17:47

At the open evening someone said theatre has 50 places and the other performing arts 25 places. Not sure if that is still the case as curriculum has changed since then

Greggs00 · 17/03/2025 11:00

My DD has just been offered a space for Film&Media - to those children still waiting to hear - I hope you get good news this week

Us too woohoo !! congratulations to your daughter ⭐️🎉🥳

Hi, my daughter has also been offered a place for Sept 2025 which is amazing and she is over the moon as this has been her dream since she was 10. We were supportive of her application but after hearing about the curriculum changes and now only being able to pick one option (that also isn't guaranteed) we aren't so sure its the right choice as she is also academic. I am very aware how competitive the industry is and am worried about her limiting her options at such an early age. It also seems that the options on offer won't be confirmed until after you accept the place.

My daughter is gutted at the fact shes been preparing for brit since the start of secondary school, she is home educated after having an extremely tough time in a harris and the plan was to go to brit in year 10. Shes been talking to her friends and theyre all getting in! I feel so sorry for her, she was so excited about this :-(

Letsgetthiswrongagain · 17/03/2025 17:43

My daughter was on the reserve list for MT last year - as far as I know I don’t think anyone declined their place. If someone does drop out they replace like for like so it’s not that you are number x on the list.

Sorry to hear this. Does she attend the Saturday Brit School?

What strand was it?

I asked on the interview about theatre and they said 50 places; so this is correct

Sorry to hear that but reserve is also good. She might still have a place. I think some parents will pull out realising about the limited gcse options. Many people didnt know about it. So 🤞🏻🍀 all the best.
