Just want to apologise for adding to the anxiety with previous post. Brit have reassured me that the 'appeals' link doesn't mean anything. Theatre results next week.

Ok. Good to know Theatre results will be next week.

My DD unfortunately didn't get a place, yesterday when I logged in i noticed the appeal link and I know from previous threads this wasn't a good sign. We got email confirmation this morning.

I've got to find a way to break the news to her after school.

Well done to all the successful applicants.

Sorry to hear this. What strand?

Congratulations. Did you hear today? Is this KS4? Nervous to look at my emails now.

Yes, heard early this morning. KS4.

Autumnleavescolors · 11/03/2025 20:04

I am looking at my daughters application and it says accepted. I guess this means she is accepted?

Does anyone know how many students they accept for each strand vs how many they audition?

Is this the same accepted on your workshop date maybe?

I would be interested to know if anyone going for the theatre strand can't see the appeals link on the application. Thanks

Edited

Just look at ours and it says accepted; We applied for theatre. Haven’t received any emails so don’t want to keep hopes up but getting excited.

For MT 380 children applied. (Less for other strands) Around 150 got auditions and there are 25 (ish) places. This is probably the same for all strands.100 out of area children applied apparently. I spoke to the lady in applications yesterday. Some children on the reserve list do tend to get offered places as some drop out or don’t accept the place for whatever reason. My daughter got a reserve and we’re OOA. There is no numerical list, she didn’t know how they’d chose a child to replace one that’s no longer wants their offered place, but if a boy drops out it’s offered to another boy so ‘like for like’. I hope that helps and best of luck. Xxx

@Brit2025 are you talking about KS4 only or also Post 16 for the reserve list info?

KS4 reserve list operate in the same way- with the change in curriculum there maybe be more movement?

Autumnleavescolors · 12/03/2025 07:53

Just got an email from the Brit, DD got a place for theatre. I am over the moon. DD left for school so have not told her yet.

Congrats!! We just got the email as well and DD was offered a theatre place too! She was the one check her emails and call me. I'm glad because I cannot imagine waiting whole day to let her know!

wandsworth25 · 12/03/2025 08:09

congrats to all the offer holders, hearing those numbers you can tell what an incredible achievement it is to get through! Could those with offers share what the acceptance deadline is? Is there an option to accept or decline within 14 days for example?

We are on the reserve list and just wondering when the first movement might occur. I also hope with KS4 curriculum changes there might be some more movement, but who knows. Clearly there are hundreds who are very keen!

Hi - yes we were given 14 days to accept the place running from the date of the offer! Best of luck to all those on the waiting list!

my D got a place for sixth form but I’m worried it will limit her options due to not offering A levels - she has 14 days to make decision- does anyone know if it’s a good idea as without A Levels this could jeopardise her future - I don’t know anyone who works in that industry but imagine jobs are few and far between

You can sit A level English, History or Maths alongside strand. There are also AS levels (all on the website).

Yes, jobs are few and far between and very competitive in all areas of the arts. But that also demonstrates that thousands and thousands of people manage to do other things with the qualifications they get.

Surely you knew this before you applied?

DDqueen40 · 13/03/2025 06:54

As someone who has a child on the reserve list for sixth form if people really aren’t sure about their places they should allow those who really want to go a place. The sixth form is not an academic route but aimed at hugely creative children who want a career in the Arts.
