sticker I wonder how many PMs in the history knew how to do those things! She's on the right track!

brainmelt · 12/06/2018 15:03

That's missing... the history "of this country"...

TerfTerfTerf · 12/06/2018 15:05

sticker my DS also voted 'most likely to be PM'Grin Let's hope they end up in politics together on the same side! (What will THAT thread title be?!)

Stickerrocks · 12/06/2018 15:29

Actually I have a horrible feeling there are a number of strong willed DC with a huge sense of justice competing for the title on this thread! Either the future of politics in this country looks great or there will be fireworks off they end up on opposing sides.

Edexcel history debrief on Weimar/Nazi paper - Berlin Olympics, how Nazis reduced unemployment, challenges faced by Weimar, and 16mark qu comparing a 2013 history book with a website about Weimar challenges. DS pleased with how it went overall.
Tomorrow...chemistry...argh

Saw this picture in a tweet about what you write in history exams..Grin

Counting down to final exam here. Had a long discussion yesterday to prewarn DD that she may well feel worse, before we see any improvement once the pressure is off and exams are finally over. She was so unwell last year with palpitations, nausea, migraines and vertigo along with her long term issues that we were at the GP surgery throughout the summer.

We have a short break at a nearby Center Parcs planned in 3 weeks and it cannot come soon enough. If she (or I) need medical support, we can easily get to our GP or hospital within an hour. She’ll then commence high dose therapy over the summer which means taking things day by day. Any thoughts of summer jobs, etc will have to be deferred until 2019, if she’s well enough.

Joining in the DC stats:-

DC taking GCSE:- Fabulous DD
Other DC:- Just the one
School:- Academy Trust
6th Form:- Hoping to stay on at same, results permitting
A Levels:- History, Government & Politics, Art Textiles
Other:- Resilient, homebird, mature for her years, compassionate, loyal, funny, bookworm, Marvel fan, fanfiction writer, stoical despite major health issues
Last exam:- Friday 15 June (physics)

I cleared her room earlier removing all but study materials for the final 3 exams. I now have a huge pile to sort through with her when she’s recovered from the ordeal that has been GCSEs 2018.

Hope all DC manage to push through the final days after what has felt like an eternity of revision and pressure!

DS3's verdict on maths Edexcel paper 3, 'It was harder than paper 1 and 2 but I could still do everything!' The confidence of youth. Let's hope pride doesn't come before a fall.

I'm loving the stats from mmzz and noblegiraffe. Would it make sense to have the combined science stats to give us a better idea on percentages getting particular grades?

mmzz, could you add combined science?

Stickerrocks · 12/06/2018 15:46

A lot of my students try the diamonds in a cesspit approach in their mocks, where they write a load of crap in the hope there is a little gem in there somewhere!

Stickerrocks · 12/06/2018 15:47

I'm resisting the temptation to start the next thread just yet. Peggy has the title this time.

BlueBelle123 · 12/06/2018 15:54

Always I had been wondering how you have both been getting on....Centre Parcs sounds like a wonderful idea

BlueBelle123 · 12/06/2018 15:55

Terf I've always wondered why my DS had an unusal knack for history and you have just solved the mystery Grin
