Counting down to final exam here. Had a long discussion yesterday to prewarn DD that she may well feel worse, before we see any improvement once the pressure is off and exams are finally over. She was so unwell last year with palpitations, nausea, migraines and vertigo along with her long term issues that we were at the GP surgery throughout the summer.
We have a short break at a nearby Center Parcs planned in 3 weeks and it cannot come soon enough. If she (or I) need medical support, we can easily get to our GP or hospital within an hour. She’ll then commence high dose therapy over the summer which means taking things day by day. Any thoughts of summer jobs, etc will have to be deferred until 2019, if she’s well enough.
Joining in the DC stats:-
DC taking GCSE:- Fabulous DD
Other DC:- Just the one
School:- Academy Trust
6th Form:- Hoping to stay on at same, results permitting
A Levels:- History, Government & Politics, Art Textiles
Other:- Resilient, homebird, mature for her years, compassionate, loyal, funny, bookworm, Marvel fan, fanfiction writer, stoical despite major health issues
Last exam:- Friday 15 June (physics)
I cleared her room earlier removing all but study materials for the final 3 exams. I now have a huge pile to sort through with her when she’s recovered from the ordeal that has been GCSEs 2018.
Hope all DC manage to push through the final days after what has felt like an eternity of revision and pressure!
