I am disappointed that there has not been a thread this year but so am stopping 'lurking'. Not want to give any specifics as maybe there is an extra exam day although this doesnt seem to be published anywhere but did anyone on Saturday ask how many Year 7 possible boys there were, as it is hard to tell who is for which year? It is pointless to ask 1 suppose as the boys are so differnet and with multiple choice method it's impossibel for boys to to know for certian anyway but the 'verdict' was Maths and English OK but the VR hard. I think January will seem a very long month.

Cfm, most have definitely not received letters. But who knows. It's not what you'd broadcast.... But maybe we can allow ourselves to be a tiny bit hopeful? Friday did seem like a logical time for the no's to arrive....not knowing is agonising

I would definitely allow yourself to feel relieved by close of play on Monday if you haven't heard.

Hi, I have been following this thread for a while now...I am also waiting for 11 plus result. Having not had a call-back for interview for my son I am not that hopeful. However, I bumped into a teacher friend today who works at a school where a number of boys sat for RGS, they have definitely had their 'no' letters (on Friday/Saturday) so they have definitely been sent. Maybe gives us a glimmer of hope but I still don't want to get my hopes up as my post is hit and miss!!Just thought I would let you all know.

Ruby4, Thanks for this info. It def gives us some glimmer of hope! We are in the same position of no news, and we have had post but not from RGS. I also was wondering if my postal service was working efficiently... It's good to feel that someone else has the same feeling of anxiety over this. I hide it from my son and husband but it's great to be able to "hold hands" with you all here. Good luck to us xx

Thanks ruby4! I'm not sure if I can't wait for the post tomorrow or if I'm dreading it!! I haven't asked after anyone at school in case they got a no so have no idea if letters have arrived locally. I wish I knew if they went first or second class.

Has anyone heard of any No letters coming out yet this year? I heard thst some might have been sent out last week but that they will be coming out in batches from now on. They seem to send everything out on a Thursday or Friday

No I heard that they are sending No's out in batches, the first batch was last week. There must be some more No's from the interviews that are currently going on so there are more to come out. I suspect the misery is going to drag on right up until the last min. Getting worn out by all this second guessing

Does anyone know if the 'nos' that have been received are for 11+ and / or 13+? Perhaps the 11+ are being sent first? Would be better for the nerves to know that they had all been sent together!

Actually, that would make sense as they do normally send out the initial round of straight nos - hopefully last week! And then the interview nos get sent later. So if you've not heard anything at all by now there is still reason to be getting hopeful?? I wish I was brave enough to just phone and ask!!

So does that mean that all the straight "nos" have been sent out last week, and the "nos" to come from now on are from the interviews?

Interview nos come out the same day as all the 'yes' letters. So they have to wait!

post has been, nothing here...it is a long way to the 12th Feb!! it feels to me like there are not nearly enough No's for the majority of No's to have been sent out already. Seems a bit mean because they already know the definite No's so they should just send them all out.

No rgs post here, no news of any received no's either! Maybe there are just a few no's and they interviewed loads of boys? Too suspicious to relax yet....

I hope RGS are watching this thread and change their protocol next year. All they need to do is send all applicants yes or no letters on the same date after all interviews and scholarship exams are completed. All this angst, confusion and unnecessary worry would be prevented. I don't understand why they don't do this. Other schools do and it is less stressful.
The Postman is late today, but it seems no one has received any mail anyway.

Difficult to disagree with what Maman says. I am also suspicious that there are simply not enough "nos" to be confident that they have all been sent out. Against that I guess you wouldn't broadcast a "no" and in previous years' threads most of the reports of "nos" are second hand. Nothing for it but to keep on watching that letter box!

Dr Cox did say on exam day that initial rejections would be sent out by end of January. Or did I remember that wrong?
