I am disappointed that there has not been a thread this year but so am stopping 'lurking'. Not want to give any specifics as maybe there is an extra exam day although this doesnt seem to be published anywhere but did anyone on Saturday ask how many Year 7 possible boys there were, as it is hard to tell who is for which year? It is pointless to ask 1 suppose as the boys are so differnet and with multiple choice method it's impossibel for boys to to know for certian anyway but the 'verdict' was Maths and English OK but the VR hard. I think January will seem a very long month.

Just joining in on this thread. We have received no letter yet so assuming no interview for us. So, it will either be a straight yes or no. Waiting is so hard!

Got second interview letter yesterday. Which means we're still in! Any ideas on what they are like (English)? Not that I believe you can prep for them, but it would be nice to know what to expect.

Waitingagain2016, that's good news, as you say, you're still in! We have got nothing on the post, so I wonder if this is good news or not? Anybody knows if the "no" letters have been sent or when are they being sent?

Judging by posts from previous years, straight nos seemed to go out Tuesday/Wednesday next week. Though Mr Cox said end January....

Thanks Cfm2016, I was at the parents meeting, but know my memory is playing tricks on me. I thought he said that the final answers would be around the 12th february, but I don't remember specifically about the 'no' s.... it was all too overwhelming! I guess we'll just have to wait...

Last year, the first 'no' letter was received on 21st Jan. At the meeting Dr Cox simply said that the 'no' letters would come out before the final 'yes' letters but he didn't specify a date.

Yes - you're right. But I think the interview people won't get a yes or no until all the yes letters have gone out. That's what happened last year.

Just joining. Postman just been and no news today. Anyone knows how many straight yes there usually are? I think 25-30 are invited back for scholarships (well done and congratulations to your son pipnzip!), guessing around 200 get straight no's assuming 400 sat, unsure how many go through second interview... the wait is unbearable!

Postman been and no news today. I share your anxiety Pb2016. Congratulations to your son pipnzip and good luck in his scholarship exam! I think not all of the students that sat the exam were for year 7, so the numbers are hard to estimate...

Waitingagain2016 I've decided to take the 2nd interview news much in the same vein as you - we're still in! Still no real idea what to expect at the interview but DS is relaxed about it (for now!). Good luck everyone, all we can do is hang on in there, it's out of our hands.

Just joining in. Thanks for all your very helpful info. My son sat the exam this year too. Found English and Maths OK, VR tricky and was pushed for time. No letters for us yet...I'm dreading the next few days.

This was the day the no letters were received last year. I'm not home until this evening so am slightly dreading looking at the doormat! Of course there is no guarantee they'll be there today.
