Meant to add well done eastwitch always a relief to get the first one. Roisin- good luck with imperial

seimum · 03/12/2014 21:14

Mumslife. Hope your DD is better soon. Must be miserable for both of you.

seimum · 03/12/2014 21:18

Horsemad - At my DS's interview at Southampton yesterday he was told that they would be making offers 'in about a month' - though that was the electronic engineering department, not comp sci.
He was in York today for another interview (& is still on his way home, as there was a problem with power lines which has delayed trains). Apparently York will be making offers "soon". Can't wait.

Leeds2 · 03/12/2014 22:21

Happy Birthday to your DD, Mums. Hope she has had a good day.

And well done to Eastwick's DS!

Horsemad · 03/12/2014 23:03

Thanks for that seimum - still no offer in writing Sad I suggested emailing and he said that makes him look 'desperate' Hmm They prob told him a month but he maybe didn't hear that!
People on TSR had offers the following day (same subject)

Congrats to your DS Eastwick Smile

mumslife, hope your DD feels better soon. Could the headaches be stress migraines, I wonder?

Sorry to hear about your dd mumslife. We have been going through similar with dd being "ill" most of the time since September. She had blood tests last week for all the same things your dd is being tested for but results all came back negative. I am convinced it is stress (along with a couple of colds) with my dd as she has a tendency towards hypochondria when she is stressed. I am hoping it all eases when her Cambridge interview is done! Hope you get some answers from the blood tests.

Well done Eastwickwitch's ds.

Thought your ds would get that email webwiz!

Feeling slightly worried.

My Ds was offered an interview for Engineering at Loughborough not an offer yet. Just hoping that is okay and fairly standard. Was hoping for an offer.

bluebellz · 04/12/2014 18:43

just read others being offered interviews - feel a bit better!

Littleham · 04/12/2014 19:15

Hi bluebellz. A friend's dd applied for engineering and nearly every university she applied to held interviews before offers for this subject.

thank you littleham. Need reassurance. Smile Blush

DD got another two offers. One of which was from Queen Mary, her first choice and is an absolute dream of an offer. They usually offer ABB but they've offered her BBB Grin

Horsemad · 04/12/2014 23:59

Wow Amazing - that's fantastic! Bet she's happy?!!!

AmazingDisgrace · 05/12/2014 00:23

Just a little bit yes!

AtiaoftheJulii · 05/12/2014 07:27

Fab Amazing :) She must be a very attractive candidate :)

AmazingDisgrace · 05/12/2014 08:20

QMUL was always her favourite and her PS was a really good match for them I think for her subject. Without giving details, her areas of interest are the same areas they are very strongly into in terms of research.

Littleham · 05/12/2014 09:33

Brilliant Amazing. BBB sounds like a dream offer. Xmas Smile

Brilliant news Amazing, well done to your DD - a great offer from her top choice is a dream come true! Grin

muffinmonster · 05/12/2014 11:13

HI all, just catching up with people's news. mumslife and mrsbartlett, sorry to hear that your DDs are feeling so unwell. HOpe you manage to get to the bottom of it soon.

Amazing that's great news for your DD. QM must have really liked her. I guess that's her firm decided, then!

No change here; we're just gearing up for DD's interview next week at Strathclyde.

AmazingDisgrace · 05/12/2014 11:38

Hope all the ill DC get better soon. Not long til end of term now so hopefully they can de-stress and recuperate in time for the New Year.

Thanks for all the lovely congrats on DDs QM offer. Yes, that is very definitely her firm sorted. It does make her insurance an interesting decision now and it will feel odd being able to dismiss Royal Holloway so quickly or she'll have her insurance having a higher offer than her firm which is probably a bit pointless

mumslife - glad everything came up clear. They told my dd tension headaches as well (that was about a month ago). She kept taking painkillers to the point where we were worrying about how many she was taking. As I said, she is a bit of a hypochondriac, so she worries about every little symptom. I am hoping that it all eases after her Cambridge interview next week.

Wishing your dd well - they really don't need this when they have so much work to be getting on with!
