MissMilliament - Sad stress is the worst part of the process. Hope you get good news on Wednesday.

Never had that Mumslife - marketing going up a notch this year.

Big relief Fairenuff! Fingers crossed for offers soon.

Atia - I think the Bristol offer days get loaded on to the VIP page, so it is worth clicking through the links to see if one is showing yet.

She just heard. No interview. Gutted for her, but at least she gave it a go and there will be no 'what if'. Both of her friends who applied have got interviews though which makes it harder.

muffinmonster · 01/12/2014 18:57

DD had an offer from Swansea today Smile. So now we've heard from all five!

Good luck to those iwth Oxbridge interviews coming up.

Well done to your DD, Muffinmonster. Impressive! Does she have a firm and insurance in mind?

Bad luck, MissMillament. Hope your DD is OK.

webwiz · 01/12/2014 20:11

Commiserations to your DD MissMillament I hope she feels ok about it.

Well done to your DD Muffinmonster

Littleham · 01/12/2014 20:26

Bad luck MissMilliment Sad but well done to your dd for trying. Hope she feels better soon.

Well done Muffin's dd. Smile

Am recovering from GCSE mock week with daughter no. 3. Do these exams ever end?

Sorry to hear that MissMillament. That must be difficult for her when her friends have interviews. It is all so stressful for them.

Great to have heard from all 5 before Christmas muffinmonster!

polkadottyme · 01/12/2014 21:51

Sorry for the bad news Miss M she give it shot, at least now can move on and concentrate on the other uni's, nail her A2's get brill grades show them its their loss somebody else's gain. Fighting spirit :)
Muffin monster- horray you can put your feet up now :) my dd is still on 1 offer and still excited waiting??? But im not! Strange child!

seimum · 01/12/2014 22:05

DS has 'informal interview/open days' with 3 Unis in the next week - Southampton tomorrow, York Wednesday, Essex next Wednesday.

What do people wear for these? One of the invitations said 'smart casual', which he takes to mean jeans/chinos, polo shirt & jumper. I have suggested he wears the smart jumper he uses for meals out. Anything smarter is too much like school uniform, in his opinion.

Any views?

AtiaoftheJulii · 01/12/2014 22:15

Oh MissMillament that's sad for her :( Hope she is doing ok xxx

seimum a smart jumper sounds fine :)

Horsemad · 02/12/2014 00:16

Sorry MissM - hope your DD is ok Sad

Muffinmonster - you can relax a bit now. Smile

seimum - DS wore smart casual for Soton, smart jumper sounds good. Good Luck to your DS!

polka - hope your DD hears from her other choices before too long.

Off to bed now, it's my wedding anniversary (well it was y'day - after midnight now!) and I've had a lot of champagne!!! Grin

Eastwickwitch · 02/12/2014 06:28

Sorry for your DD MissM, I bet she'll find somewhere she loves equally.
DS has acknowlegements but no offers yet. I think I'm more anxious than him but can't stop myself asking.

polkadottyme · 02/12/2014 14:02

Happy belated wedding anniversary horsemad. Which reminds me that ours is coming up soon too in a few weeks time!??. We got married on the shortest day or is that longest day ah I don't remember??
Eastwick- I know the feeling my dd is a bit laid back unlike the parents. Just want the UCAS thing wrapped up and done with can't stand waiting I'm so impatient sometimes. Having all the offers will make it easier for dd to just focus on the job in hand not on if's and maybes. Good luck everyone on interviews.

Horsemad · 02/12/2014 22:52

Thanks polka Smile

No news here today. Track still hasn't updated with the verbal Soton offer. Hope they put it in writing soon...

Roisin · 03/12/2014 07:21

ds1 is going to offer holder's day at Imperial today. I have to say - being a provincial type myself - I'm not keen, but I'm trying to keep my opinions to myself!

Horsemad · 03/12/2014 09:03

Ikwym Roisin Smile
DS wanted to go there but the fact it is London and the extra cost made me Hmm!!

I was secretly relieved when he got rejected! It is a fab university though, so I can see the appeal.
Good Luck to your DS! Smile

webwiz · 03/12/2014 19:26

DS got his follow up email from Exeter today saying the offer is A*AA if they are the firm choice. Too focused on Monday's Cambridge interview to worry about them!

Littleham · 03/12/2014 20:01

Thought that would happen webwiz! Grin

Poor DD mums, this uni stress with an illness must be rotten.

DS has his first offer, from Exeter AAA. A big ask.

webwiz · 03/12/2014 20:38

Sorry that your DD isn't well mumslife and I hope they get to the bottom of what it is. Happy Birthday to her as well (DS is 18 on Saturday Smile)

Well done to your DS Eastwickwitch its nice to get the first one in the bag.

polkadottyme · 03/12/2014 20:43

Oh dear mumslife no fun :( happy B day to your dd even though she's probably not up for any celebrations. I'm sure she will make up for it and more when she gets better. Hope you find the root to her illness too. So then at least can treat it properly
