Grin polka. He's quite laid back, but has talked to me about the interview which is unusual for him!

AmazingDisgrace · 26/11/2014 20:36

Excellent news Littleham!

If she gets a similar offer from Queen Mary then that will be her firm. RHUL still very much in the mix though.

seimum · 26/11/2014 21:49

Well done Littleham DD!

Horsemad - what subject is your DS going for at Southampton? My DS has got interview/open day there next Tuesday for Electronic Engineering.

Mindgone · 26/11/2014 23:15

Littleham, so happy for you! :)
And mums life too! :)

Horsemad · 26/11/2014 23:21

seimum - he's applying for Computer Science.

Good Luck to your DS for his interview. Did he go to a general Open Day in the summer?
Mine did and really liked the campus.

hellsbells99 · 27/11/2014 07:53

Seimum and Horsemad - good luck to your DS with their interviews.
Littleham - well done to your DD! I hope the interview goes well.
DD1 had her final interview yesterday which was at Nottingham and quite intense. I couldn't go with her due to work but it was MMI (interview stations) format with a maths and science test, and also a group exercise. She says most of it was ok but won't hear until late in December. And after all that, she says she doesn't really want to go there and prefers Manchester as her firm choice! I am glad we are at the stage where she can now concentrate on her school work so she can try and get the grades, instead of preparing for interviews and missing time off school.

Arlagirl · 27/11/2014 07:56

Dd is applying for musical theatre so auditions coming through at the momentmoment...at £50 a time Shock
Her banker is Chichester....far enough away from home but she can get back in an hour and a half.
I am so looking forward to her moving away from home....will do her and us the world of good

circular · 27/11/2014 08:36

Good luck to those with interviews coming up.
*Chatmade^ hope auditions go well. I wasn't aware of any audition costs through UCAS. Doesn't seem to be the case for music, but many don't audition.

muffinmonster · 27/11/2014 08:59

hellsbellls, what is MMI (interview stations)? Haven't heard of this before.

cathyandclaire · 27/11/2014 09:45

Good luck to all with interviews and break a leg to Chamade's DD :) have you been on notapushymum? Lots of audition chat on there.
Dd has an interview with Warwick in January, so heard from all Unis/colleges now (she's still only applied to 4 so far). Bristol fav at the moment but two interviews and an audition to go in the next 6 weeks. Hand me the Wine now!

hellsbells99 · 27/11/2014 12:42

MMI is multiple mini interviews - a bit like speed dating!

hellsbells99 · 27/11/2014 12:48

Good luck cathyandclaire's DD.

Horsemad · 27/11/2014 16:47

Totally off topic, but I'd LOVE to do speed dating - if I were single!! Just appeals to me! Grin

polkadottyme · 27/11/2014 18:04

Ha ha me too horsemad!!

circular · 27/11/2014 19:05

Same here Horsemad and Polka.
Though not sure I can quite see the connection with MMI, except perhaps the time spent at each desk lol.

Littleham · 27/11/2014 19:22

Good luck with all the interviews & auditions.

Speed dating interviews. Sounds different. Hmm

Hi Horsemad

DS spent 4 days at Southampton this summer on a Headstart course. He really enjoyed it, and I think it would be his number one choice - if he gets an offer.

Horsemad · 27/11/2014 22:18

DH & DS arrived home about an hour ago.
He enjoyed his day and said the interview went well and they've (verbally) made an offer of AAB - will hopefully update on Track soon...
Also, he had an offer of AAB today from Nottingham and an 'Unsuccessful' from Imperial - not a surprise really but he was a bit Sad as he'd have made them his Firm I think.

webwiz · 27/11/2014 22:26

Oh dear Horsemad sorry about Imperial but congrats on the Southampton and Nottingham offers.
