What's the pastoral care for these schools T or W?

Good news here! DS got scholarship at T and offers from his other 3 schools (one also with a scholarship). So proud of him.

Well done to DTwins.

Trashpack - i still didnt get a letter from W!! Not sure if I find it rude or funny. We got three letters today - 1 small, 2 big!! hurrah. Looking foward to a good nights sleep tonight.

Congratulations to all...!!!!

Well, the news here is that a bunch of fat envelopes came through the door this morning. First two supersize scholarships from T (plus lovelies nicest ever letter from music dept). Then all the other schools he applied to offering him a hundred per cent of the fees plus instrumental tuition.

If someone had told me we would be in this situation a few months ago I would've said they were high on something very strong. I may collapse out of pure joy. DH telling DS at this very moment.

Congratulations and commiserations to all!!
DS got offer from T with Scholarship and bursary! Really proud of him! Just need to clarify with the bursary dept how much we will have to pay as they sent us an incorrect amount on our letter!! We will have to pay a lot more apparently! Good job I checked the amount before accepting the offer!! Lots of thinking to do now. It's still such a lot of money! But I'm so impressed with him for getting this far. Hope there's more good news over the weekend for everyone!

Many congrats to all that have had good news. Commiserations for those that haven't.
BrownSugar We were in that position last year. We plumped for T and haven't regretted the decision. DS is Y6 and we were worried that the change a year early may be too much but the school have helped with the transition brilliantly.

Big contrats to all those with offers and scholarships.. Also sorry for bad news for some. My DS was marginally(full fees) admitted at W (13+), but waitlisted at Dulwich.

Anybody any idea about the realistic chance of getting off D waitlist?

Have just got home.

Ds has a place at W, but on full fees. We will have to decline. Am devastated.

Fatal can't you have a discussion with them? I really don't know how this works but surely not everyone will take up their scholarships and bursaries? Even from this thread it seems that some have offers from both. What happens to that pool of money?

Gosh, I feel deflated for you from just chatting on this thread.

Fatal - I think it would def be a good idea to have a word with them. We will prob have to do the same with T! Hey, it's worth a shot! What do we have to lose!! X

Absolutely have a word with them. You never know and, as said, you have nothing to lose :)

wjchoick-(sp?) what does a 'marginal place' mean? did they say they didn't really want him? surely not?!Confused Confused

I rang T to query bursary absence earlier as not mentioned in offer letter, just had call and an error had occurred and been offered excellent bursary! Poor guy, I started crying on phone.
My DS totally confused now, had to re-ring/ text everyone and I'm still crying.

I'm hitting the wine big time tonight.

I would encourage anyone to ring and query

Just horrifying that we would have turned the offer down and no one would have known

From my calculations T full fees approx £13,640 next year

Fantastic news suz. Could you just imagine the consequences of that admin error. Well done for phoning.

Congratulations to to those with good news and commiserations to those with bad. I've just got home to thin envelope from T. DS is on reserve list for 10+. Can't say I'm overly disappointed though as we'd already decided that 11+ would be a better time for him (and us financially) so hey ho...

Just got to go through it all again next year now. Oh the joy Sad
