So youngest dh !!! this morning whats the date mummy ? even she knows when the letter is coming !!! feeling for my ds i didnt even tell him when we would find out but playground talk, he his ever so nervous !!! I am dreading the long day and night ahead and postie whenever he decides to come tomorrow or it could even be SATURDAY

kimalima · 14/02/2013 12:41

Kylep how many DH's do you have? I like that idea.... ha ha... the stress is getting to all off our posts. Let's have a 'who can put the together the worst post thread', spelling, typos, grammar... it should take away the angst of the next 24 hours.

Kylep · 14/02/2013 12:45

Kima- Daughter lol seriously all stressed out and i deal with money god help my boss !!!!

burntoutdad · 14/02/2013 13:20

I guess im more concerned about how DS will feel taking bad news rather than him not getting into the school. But then i think back a long, long time ago to when i didnt get into my local Grammar and how i felt, and i cant remember being that fussed after a while. Mum was distraught though Grin.

Talking of typos - my spell check/correct seems to have stopped working on here. Any ideas why???

wjchoihk · 14/02/2013 13:37

kimalima

This morning DS walks in my bedroom and says calmly "mum if I don't get any offers, what do we do?". I wanted to hug him so tightly sad.

Your above comment almost made me tearful... My DS (13+ sitter with still 10 year-old mental) forced me last night to check the posting dates of W and other school that we are also waiting.

A Sentimental Dad...

burntoutdad · 14/02/2013 13:44

wjchoihk - I hadnt realised that your DS was a 13+ sitter. Does that mean it was the 12+ he sat last year? We were wondering how 13+ works if you were not in a prep school. i.e. by then the prep schools would be working towards the 13+ entry but otherwise would mean that DS has already had one year in state secondary school so gap between the boys is harder to bridge.

Brownsugar3879 · 14/02/2013 13:49

Smile you guys really make me chuckle.
I really really feel for all parents whose DS sat the 11+. I hope, pray, cross fingers & toes that the letters will bear good news.
My DS sat the 10+ so it's not so much pressure but we are still anxious.
Good luck guys

wjchoihk · 14/02/2013 13:54

burntoutdad - My DS is at a prep school that runs til yr 8. 13+ at W is a minor intake (about 30 intake?), but 12+ is a lot more minor intake i guess. I think 13+ is mainly for prep school boys while 11+ is for mix of prep and state boys. A couple of boys from state school who didn't make into their desired schools did join DS's prep at Yr 7. Hope this helps.

burntoutdad · 14/02/2013 15:32

Thanks, wjchoick. Getting info for our options if we have to try again and again!!

therugratref · 14/02/2013 15:59

The suspense is killing me. I am on night duty from tonight, how am I going to be able to sleep tomorrow?.

FatalFlowerGarden · 14/02/2013 18:10

rugratref - at least you've got an excuse for being awake all night Grin

I think I may have to open the Wine tonight just to ensure a bit of sleep!

Marni23 · 14/02/2013 19:13

Am already on the Wine here! Can't believe the day is finally (almost) here. Our post is crap though, and it can be anything up to 4pm before it arrives, by which time I will be certifiable. We hear from all our potential schools tomorrow and I fully expect to get very little sleep tonight!

Somelikeithott · 14/02/2013 20:10

Nice to see so many posts in anticipation of the D-day. I just got in from work after a mentally & physically exhausting day, so hoping to have an early night, so tomorrow can come quick. Best wishes to us all tomorrow.

Watch out for my post at midnight, when I wake up & can't get back to sleep!!!!!!!!

stresscity · 14/02/2013 20:49

HI ALL, just a quickie really from me, we heard from T yesterday and unfortunately it wasn't meant to be for ds. Odds were 5-1 so we knew it wasn't going to be easy bu hey ho. Gutted, but will get over it. GOOD luck you guys for tomorrow of for whenever your posties arrive. All I can say is, if it isn't the answer you want, it hurts, but give it a week and the pain does ease. Wish everyone of you the best of luck.

Marni23 · 14/02/2013 20:54
