I’m having a shocker of a week.I’m absolutely exhausted and this is leading me to pick at food, albeit the wrong
kind.
Haven’t made it to any classes due to tiredness and not being home in time. Im
only just scraping 10k steps as well 😩

But I have down two decent weights workouts and drank lots of water. Every cloud and all that!

Well done on the weights @WouldBeGood @Tomorrowisanewday

5lb on over the summer is amazing @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. I’d definitely take that as a small win. I’m sure iv put that amount on this week alone! 😂

I was pretty relieved @runningpink ! And I've had a great summer so mustn't grumble.

Still just under a stone lighter than I was at the beginning of the year, so would love to get to my goal weight by the end of the year.

Got a run and a strength class planned for today, and have saved calories from the last few days to allow for wine tonight - hurrah!

runningpink · 19/08/2022 09:20

I have the lurgy! Silver lining that I may loose some weight! But god I feel awful!

So needless to say no exercise etc will be happening here today.

Id say your goal weight is definitely achievable @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo you are totally smashing this

WouldBeGood · 19/08/2022 09:24

Oh no, @runningpink , hope you feel better soon. Fluids and rest 💐

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo it’s looking good for your goal by the year end!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/08/2022 10:27

Oh what a shame @runningpink I hope you are on the mend soon. Lots of rest and fluids.

Thank you both for the encouragement. Feeling pretty motivated now!

runningpink · 21/08/2022 08:33

Feel more normal today but very weak. Definitely not strong enough to do weights but I am going to attempt 10k steps over the day as a start.
Also still off my food so just going to see how I go for a few days and not get bogged down on protein, calories etc

Just checked and in 7 weeks iv lost 8.4 Ibs. (Obviously bug has helped a little)

Took the plunge this morning to try on holiday clothes and it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Couple of things I couldn’t get on back in April ? and I could today. Not so I’d feel comfortable wearing but definitely a boost that I’m going in right direction.

Anyone suggest where I can get a bikini (not sure if I feel confident enough to wear one but want to at least get one to try) and a beach cover up/kimono type thing? Really struggling to find one that’s nice, not expensive and would actually cover me up! 🙄

Todays goals, water and steps. Oh and housework!

How has everyone else’s weekend been?

I really like this but not in stock in my size

Well done on the weight loss @runningpink ! Glad you're starting to feel a bit more normal.

It's a great feeling when something fits that hasn't for a while! Can't help on the bikini, but I was pleasantly surprised by a swimsuit I got from M&S - very flattering. I'm overly compensated in the boob department so normally have to go for £££ bra sized swim wear. The one I got was marketed as tummy control. Maybe worth a look at their bikinis? I also got a long beach cover up shirt from there. It was nice on. Quite smart looking with hat, sunnies and flip flops when wandering around the resort we stayed at.

Had a rest day on the exercise front yesterday, but off for a walk this morning. About 450 calories over food consumption for the week (starting wed) so far, but hoping to claw some of those back min/Tue so not relying on exercise cals too much. We'll see!

WouldBeGood · 21/08/2022 09:23

Gkad you’re on the mend @runningpink. For bikinis it really depends on boob size. Mine are gigantic, so I buy from Brastop, which has discounted bikinis and underwear. If you’re not in need of such structural engineering then actually Primark is good. And Matalan, bizarrely. Primark also has nice coverups.as do Asda. And wear the bikini!! I always do, and I’m much fatter and older than you. You won’t think about it when you’re in the sun!

Sounds like you’re back on it, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo ! Please nag me about calorie counting this week, my training is right on track but too much drink. I might actually try to log calories in advance again, that worked well before. I’ve had a bit of a wild weekend 🤣 But it’s used up lots of calories as well as resulting in the need for carbs!

mapleleavesreturn · 21/08/2022 09:24

Was going to say M&S have had nice swim stuff too but they also go out of stock quickly on some items! No bikinis in my wardrobe.

One of my kids not sleeping here - think I'm just too old for the sleep deprivation in my 40s! Typical back to school stuff.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/08/2022 17:57

Oh def wear the bikini @runningpink I only mentioned swimsuit as I bought one for swimming lessons, and it was surprisingly flattering.

I will nag on the calories @WouldBeGood ! Wine often derails my efforts too, well, more the snacks that go along with it!! I got the proper munchies on Friday which was v bad.

Went for a walk today, only 6k but it was uphill a lot of the time so that was good.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/08/2022 17:57

Sorry about the sleeping @mapleleavesreturn I hope it settles down soon.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/08/2022 08:20

Morning all! I've just put my calories in for today's meals @WouldBeGood have you? 😀 I have 700 calories to claw back from the weekend today/tomorrow if I don't want to use exercise calories. I won't manage all of that without starving myself but will hopefully manage to save some!

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2022 08:35

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo thanks! Because if you I didn’t sneak a leftover chip, and have logged my breakfast, with a massive 34g of protein.😇 I will put the rest in now, I do think it helps to have no room for manoeuvre 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/08/2022 09:03

Haha, well done! What did you have for breakfast??

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2022 09:44

This! I am stuffed 🤣 Should help my weights session this morning 💪

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/08/2022 10:10

Definitely! I do like a bacon & egg bagel.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 24/08/2022 06:49

How is everyone doing this week?

@WouldBeGood have you been logging calories?

@runningpink any luck on the bikini shopping?

@mapleleavesreturn has the sleep improved?

@Tomorrowisanewday how are the weights coming along?

Just had my weekly weigh in - lost 1.5lbs in the last week so pleased with that. I've been good on the exercise front so feeling back on it! Have a couple of social things to navigate this week so will need to stay focused!

WouldBeGood · 24/08/2022 08:37

That’s brilliant, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo ! Well done.

I haven’t been brilliant logging, I must confess… but calorie burn been good as I’ve done exercise and walked. I’m a bit cross with myself though tbh. Off to do weights now. keep nagging me!!

@runningpink next had some nice swimwear online.

hope everyone e is doing well!

GoldenSongbird · 24/08/2022 10:30

I am logging and exercising and drinking water ... and it's making such a small difference to my weight. I didn't even lose a lb this week - just a fraction of one.

But I did take my measurements and I lost 4 inches in the last week! The funny thing is I have a dress that is sometimes tight on the arms and I thought I'd try it on again. It slipped on and off easily. By comparison, before it was so tight on the arms, it would stick. I'd have a proper fight to get out of it and I'd be left with big red marks on my arms!

I tried a resistance bands class at the weekend. It was so hard.

I'm pleased at the small difference in my shape but it all feels like such a slog.

mapleleavesreturn · 24/08/2022 19:24

The sleep is improving @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo - right they're back at school, time to find some renewed motivation!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/08/2022 06:32

That sounds like great progress @GoldenSongbird even if it's not reflected on the scales. Don't be too disheartened, weight can fluctuate so much. I weigh in on a wed as I find post weekend can be artificially high. If you're changing shape the weight will follow eventually!

Keep logging @WouldBeGood you know it works!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/08/2022 06:34

Sorry, pressed send too soon. Glad to hear that the sleep is improving @mapleleavesreturn good luck with finding your motivation!

WouldBeGood · 25/08/2022 07:49

it really does@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo ! I’m an idiot

@GoldenSongbird tbh I’m much more interested in clothes fit etc than weight. Sounds like great progress!!

@mapleleavesreturn You can do it!

@runningpink how you doing?

Tomorrowisanewday · 25/08/2022 11:17

Better than I hoped, didn't expect to feel semi-confident so quickly. Managed bench press yesterday, so I've now managed all the big moves I was so nervous about 😃
