I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

I've been to a few that have all been fine but the names escape me. I've eaten in Piccolo Mondo which always has deals on (%pm) and great reviews. It's not "posh" but I remember the food and wine being good.

We went because we had vouchers but I would go back if I was looking to have an italian in Glasgow.

I'm sure the locals will have better advice though :)

Sarti's is still brilliant. Smile - Ds' favourite restaurant. It's not particularly cheap though - but we think it's worth it Grin

Only the Wellington Street branch is open all week at the moment; the Bath Street one is only open Thursday through to Sunday. And the Renfield Street branch hasn't yet re-opened at all.

ssd · 11/11/2021 13:11

Sartis is such a blast from the past, glad to hear its still good @prettybird and glad you're feeling better and are almost free Grin

@WouldBeGood, you're on Grin

ssd · 11/11/2021 13:12

Piccolo mondo, thats another place ive heard of but never tried @ElephantOfRisk, is it nearer Paisley or am i getting confused?

ElephantOfRisk · 11/11/2021 13:16

There are 2 I think @ssd. One in Renfrew and one in Argyll street (I think), we had to pass under the railway and through the drunks and beggars to get there....

Well, 6 days on from installing the Covid app, I still can't get it to work. I can get as far as it needs to take me to another site for the photo verification, then it's says something's gone wrong and to try again.

Did anyone else have this problem? I'm rapidly losing patience with the bloody thing.

dementedpixie · 11/11/2021 13:28

I only had a problem the 1st day I tried it
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling and trying again?

ecceromani · 11/11/2021 13:40

I've not had a problem @RaraRachael
Yes agree, uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps

RaraRachael · 11/11/2021 13:45

Yes I'll try that. It helpfully says that if you're having a problem, contact them but doesn't tell you how

prettybird · 11/11/2021 13:55

Is it getting as far as scanning your face to verify against your photo ID? I got there numerous times before it said there was a problem - but it did eventually work. The most annoying thing was having to start from scratch each time.

Do you know your CHI number? The other annoying thing was it saying to check your details were correct - when you knew that they were Confused

RaraRachael · 11/11/2021 19:18

No I'm not even getting as far as scanning my face. I don't know my number either so I think I'll just uninstall it and start again

dementedpixie · 11/11/2021 19:21

Is the CHI number on the appointment letters too?

prettybird · 11/11/2021 19:40

The CHI number will be on your appointment letters. Also, if you pick up LFTs from your pharmacy and ask nicely, giving your DoB, name and post code, they'll give it to you.

Thereafter you only need to remember the last 4 numbers (or write it down somewhere) as the 1st 4 digits are your DoB.

RaraRachael · 11/11/2021 22:27

I didn't keep my appointment letters so hopefully my booster one will arrive shortly.

Tried uninstalling and installing again but just keep getting to the same stage. I think there's a paper version you can print off fingers crossed or I'm going to be stuck outside the SECC Sad

shouldistop · 12/11/2021 07:50

How quickly are pcr results coming back in Glasgow area just now, does anyone know? Ds1 is going for a test this morning. Hoping waiting for the results won't ruin our entire weekend plans.

ssd · 12/11/2021 07:58

Mine 24 hrs, ds 9 hrs @shouldistop

shouldistop · 12/11/2021 07:58

@ssd brilliant. Fingers crossed for a result tomorrow morning then.

tiredoftiers · 12/11/2021 08:19

Done in morning, back in evening. Three days in a row last weekend.
They don’t text after a certain time of night but they email them through.

If you get onto your online portal you can download a pdf. If you don't have login details then call the vaccination number who should be able to give it to you.
dementedpixie · 12/11/2021 08:33

You can recover your user name online if your know the date of one of your vaccines

shouldistop · 12/11/2021 08:52

Test done, he was so good and counted to 10 for each nostril. He's feeling rotten though, poor thing.

prettybird · 12/11/2021 08:58

Done at 1.15pm, back at 18.34pm (me) and about 8am the following morning (dh).

Ds took his test at 9am in Aberdeen and it was emailed to him at 11pm.

tiredoftiers · 12/11/2021 09:26

@shouldistop fingers crossed negative and back quickly. And most importantly he feels better soon, what ever it is.

So many lurgies going around at the moment.

I know, it's unlike him to be ill. The whole house can come down with something and he might look slightly pale for half a day while the rest of us are ill for days. Immune system of steel!

Groovee · 12/11/2021 17:45

Hope he is ok @shouldistop

We have a lot of green noses at nursery x
