I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

Just tried to look up my booster appointment details on the nhs inform website and it says I can't be found so that's useful

Im knackered tonight. Sore feet and sore head and i wasn't even out after work Grin. Defo getting old, the thought of a night in a busy pub is so unappealing now.

ssd · 12/11/2021 22:17

Hope you grt a negative test for your boy soon @shouldistop

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2021 07:49

I was out for a lovely boozy dinner with friends in a local pub. One of those where I couldn’t be arsed to go but it was great in the end. Today’s excitement is that I need to buy a curtain pole 🤣

shouldistop · 13/11/2021 07:55

Negative result, thanks for the well wishes.

@WouldBeGood that sounds brilliant Smile

Ds is feeling better this morning after resting and being plied with fluids all day yesterday.

Were off to David Lloyd this morning, ds has a couple of classes and dh and I will each get a turn at the gym then watching the baby.

It's to be sunny here today so we'll probably head out for a walk this afternoon.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2021 07:57

Hurray @shouldistop! Have a nice day

tiredoftiers · 13/11/2021 08:33

Brilliant enjoy your day @shouldistop

GrouchyKiwi · 13/11/2021 13:06

Glad it's a negative result, should. Enjoy the day!

Watching the rugby. Had a little sniffle about Tom Smith carrying the ball in, though I don't even know who he is. I love when they do meaningful things like that.

dementedpixie · 13/11/2021 13:52

Took my cat to get groomed today. I was so stressed as the last time I took him to get groomed (further away) he puked in the carrier and then I'd nearly got there when they cancelled the appointment and had to turn round to go home. By the time I got home he'd also pooped in the carrier. He was stressed and so was I.

It's taken ages to find another cat groomer but she is closer to me and he needs doing every few months as he's long haired. Was very reasonably priced too. He did growl quite a lot but neither of us got any injuries Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 13/11/2021 14:01

I feel your pain dementedma. My sister was given a kitten after one of her friend's farm cats had a litter. My parents were assured it would be a short-haired male and we got a long-haired female instead. Grin

She was practically feral, spent half of her time wandering around my parents' property (and getting pregnant before she could be spayed) so she had the most terrible matts. My parents had to cut the matts out regularly as she would never, ever go in a crate, and couldn't cope with the car, after being spayed. Poor thing.

All of her kittens were short-haired, thankfully. Grin

dementedpixie · 13/11/2021 14:10

I have 1 long haired and 1 short haired but they are brothers. Although when we got them we were told they were girls

He's had to be shaved before due to matting (not by me!). I'm trying to prevent that and hopefully now I know a closer groomer he can be kept under control

prettybird · 13/11/2021 14:22

I'm grateful that I have a pair of short haired Wink Siamese! Grin

They never need groomed but have lovely silky fur because they're stroked so much . Although they're both weird in that they like going out when it's wet and coming in absolutely drookit and expecting to be dried (by stroking, not with a towel Hmm)

dementedpixie · 13/11/2021 14:25

My long haired cat doesn't mind the rain. Probably doesn't feel it through the fur. He does hide slugs and sticky willy balls in it though. And leaves and twigs too

ElephantOfRisk · 13/11/2021 14:31

Mine likes to go out in the rain and be dried on return too. Unfortunately she is a plump, medium haired madam who after being dried and having a snack will head back out again - and so it goes on...

She is also prone to matting on her back. As she is in her middle aged spread years, presumably she can't reach to groom properly? Never had to be shaved yet thankfully but we have had to resort to a pair of nail scissors occasionally. The matts come out of nowhere, we groom her regularly, one day she seems fine and the next she's like a stegosaurus!

I just took a trip to TK Maxx with a big list and returned with 3 things, 2 of which were not on the list! Back to online it is as the other available shops are unlikely to have what I need Sad

shouldistop I feel your pain. After trying for a week to get the status app to work, I decided to print a copy instead. I do exist, but according to their records I have only had one jab. What a bloody shambles.

ssd · 13/11/2021 22:25

I'm allergic to cats, they make me sneeze. And they freak me out the way they rub against your legs Confused

dementedpixie · 13/11/2021 22:28

That's them showing they love you. It's all about scent marking

tiredoftiers · 13/11/2021 22:31

DH is allergic to cats, they love him. Guaranteed into a house with cats and they’re all over him in minutes. They just know….

titsintiers · 13/11/2021 22:52

They do know. Sleekit wee buggers that they are

GrouchyKiwi · 13/11/2021 22:55

Similar to how they know when people aren't fond of cats and they always choose those people to sit on. Which I admire, whilst also hating it. Grin

Rubbish day of sports fandom for me. Scotland lost (discipline was shocking), Ireland beat the All Blacks (discipline terrible there too), and Lewis was disqualified from F1 qualifying because of shoddy engineering (at least he did well in the stupid sprint run to mitigate things). The Black Caps had better beat Australia in the T20 final tomorrow to make up for it.

Strictly made me cry, the children made me grumpy. Has been a totes emosh day.

titsintiers · 13/11/2021 22:57

I cried too @GrouchyKiwi from the moment I knew it was a couples choice to the song choice and then the dance itself 😭😭😭

ssd · 13/11/2021 23:19

I can't stand strictly, although i know this is like saying you hate your granny. Its too fake and false for me and i can't stand the presenters. Though it shows how crap Saturday night telly is when strictly gets like a gazillion viewers.

Haudyourwheesht · 13/11/2021 23:29

No strictly for me. Runrig documentary on Sky Arts and now I'm in bed (not) trying to sleep.

ssd · 13/11/2021 23:33

I turned it over after a minute and dh watched something on bbc Scotland about football 🥴🤐

shouldistop · 14/11/2021 09:50

How's everyone's Sunday morning going?
Ds2 has slept really well the past 2 nights, only waking around 5 and then kind of up and down until 6 when I've just got up with him.
We had a lovely day yesterday, in the afternoon we ended up walking 2.5 miles down to botanic gardens to have a look around the GlasGlow stuff and at the fish and plants, we then walked about mile along to partick to get something to eat and the train home. Ds1 said he had tired legs Grin
The boys have gone swimming this morning, baby ds is napping and I'm watching tv 🙌🏻
I've got a load of school uniform to iron but I'll do it later.
