I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

I’ve been for a lovely leisurely browse round tk maxx and got lots of lovely (and useful) bits for Christmas gifts.

That's a good idea - I'll do that after I'm out of isolation.

I also need to have a browse around Amazon.fr for ideas of things to get my db, SIL and his kids.

I've done some of my Christmas shopping DS2 (20) is okay to buy for, he quite likes getting clothes. So an outfit, new underwear, pjs, some booze and sweeties and money really completes his list. DS1 (21) is a nightmare, so far I've got him new PJs that I'm not even sure he needs. I have a few ideas for DH but he has a big birthday in a few weeks so might need to use those for that.

I now have an idea to get him a nice weekend bag and wash bag. He tends to squash his stuff in with mine or pop it in a back pack if we go away. I'm thinking that given that we might start going away weekends more as we approach retirement, he could maybe do with something a bit more suitable. Happy for any ideas/recommendations.

I have a few things for DS2s girlfriend.

Apart from that then it's just all the great nephews and nieces and I've done all those, just to be wrapped and posted now.

TK maxx is a good call for a wander as well. If they still open late on a Thursday night, i might pop along then.

Evening all. I'm buzzing after NZ dramatically beat England in the Cricket T20 World Cup.

And dinner tonight was really good, despite being incredibly simple (lamb chops, cabbage, salt, pepper and water cooked for 2 hours = so much flavour!), and I even made dessert (peach sponge) so I'm feeling very domestic.

I had a wander round frazers in Glasgow yesterday, its a lovely shop and all the xmas lights are up inside. Pity it wasn't a bit busier. Then i passed Platform, where you are thinking of going @WouldBeGood. I couldn't tell what it was like but i googled it and it seems enormous! I wouldn't mind a wander through there, i wonder if they have food stalls every day?

Logged into the vaccine website. So I have my booster on the 20th. It's at 6pm and it's been long waits during the day so dreading that part.

Feeling a bit strange about the date as that was the day my dad was taken into hospital. 😢

Enjoying reading back on your chat. Currently stuck isolating but not as fortunate to have been allowed to take my isolation date from the onset of my symptoms. Which has had some ridiculous knock on effects for me and my family. I've got my vaccine status on my phone, pity I'm also covid positive.

My faith in things were restored last night when Tesco brought my shopping 30minutes late and almost 24 hours after it had originally been scheduled for, however the nice guy that brought it said he'd been sent out on overtime specifically to bring my shop. Not only that I'd ordered the cheap £1 advent calendars for the kids and instead I got much better bigger ones sent as a substitution.

The Test & Protect app gives me one date but my text message (from the PCR) gives me another (and also explicitly says 10 days inclusive from the onset of the symptoms)

I'm going by my official test text as the app doesn't "know" when (or even if) I took my test, not when I reported my 1st symptoms when answering the Test & Protect questions. The fact that I reported my test result on it seems to be been superseded by dh's positive test

Still, I get out of Covid jail tomorrow and I'm feeling much better today

And I'm going to see ds at the weekend (having missed seeing him last weekend) as he's coming down for the rugby.

Can anyone recommend a really nice Italian restaurant in Glasgow? Back in the day we went to sartis but dont know what its like now.
