I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

Lovely flowers pb :)

It's absolutely peeing down here. Cat just popped in to be dried and have a snack and moaning to get out again. Easy dinner here again tonight, meatballs with mash, pepper sauce and broccoli and maybe another veg if I can be bothered.

No mojo for cooking this week.

Ive got chicken i dont know what to do with. Really can't be arsed. Got soaked to and from work. Sick of the weather,,the news, everything.

ElephantOfRisk · 27/10/2021 16:37

Oh and I popped into the local post office which is inside the local wee shop to drop off the parcel that Royal Mail failed to collect yesterday, picked up some bread and milk and fruit while I was in and it was aonly as I was leaving that I realised I had no mask on. Only a few folk in the store and none of them had one on. I only realised when someone was coming in the shop masked up. I didn't even have one in my pocket and staff weren't wearing either.

Had to drive into Glasgow to dhs work today as he managed to lock his keys in the car boot! Was pissing down with rain on the motorway which I'm not used to driving in but I survived. Ds was supposed to be at rugby training tonight but it's off due to waterlogged pitches.

dementedpixie · 27/10/2021 16:39

We're having some lentil halloumi bake thing that dh found a recipe for online.

WouldBeGood · 27/10/2021 17:14

I really think people don’t much care about masks now. Had hair done, no masks, waiting for takeaway ramen (ds’ favourite!) now: no masks. Haven’t worn one for a couple of weeks now.

I love lentils and halloumi so that sounds amazing @dementedpixie

ssd · 27/10/2021 17:23

I still see most people wearing a mask at work

dementedpixie · 27/10/2021 17:23

I will find out what recipe it is later as its him cooking it Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 27/10/2021 17:24

I still see mostly masks around here, though most people didn't wear them at the Museum of Flight (the staff all were, though).

We're having a corn & cheese bread thing from Paraguay (chipa guazú), and I'm serving it with baked chicken & chorizo and a salad.

Scottishskifun · 27/10/2021 17:26

@ssd I do a really cheat thing with chicken just whack it in the oven with either a tomato and herb sauce if I have the energy to make it or with a jar of pasta sauce if I don't. Serve it with rice and veg on the side. Its dinner done in about 30 mins and DS actually eats it!

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 27/10/2021 17:27

DD and I have are having a fat lazy tea, it's a Pizza Express meal deal, two pizzas, dough balls and cheesecake BlushBlush

WouldBeGood · 27/10/2021 17:36

Pizza 😍

Scottishskifun · 27/10/2021 17:38

I must be one of the few people who hates pizza 😂🍕
But I used to work at uni in a kitchen of a pizzeria and Italian tapas place and I used to make about 200 of the damn things a day including the dough the day before!

sartorius · 27/10/2021 17:39

We're having chicken breasts and peppers roasted in oven, served with couscous.
Very labour saving dinner which is needed on Wednesdays.

Most people wearing masks round here

WouldBeGood · 27/10/2021 17:43

Yeah, I agree most people masked! Especially in supermarkets. But more not, and not had any problems

Wbeezer · 27/10/2021 18:23

This is like 'Get it On"with Brian Burnet, everyone saying what they're cooking for tea before sharing an anecdote.
I've just been out for fish and chips, DH and I go to a woodwork class on Wednesday, its our date night! (couldn't bring ourselves to go to Salsa class!).

WouldBeGood · 27/10/2021 18:30

@Scottishskifun I feel like that about Empire biscuits

Wbeezer · 27/10/2021 18:37

I went to the effort of making empire biscuits during lockdown, but spparently they weren't as good as the baker's ones i was a bit offended! (my biscuits werent soft enough....)

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/10/2021 18:39

Freezer tea night here, nothing too exciting. Does make for an early slump on the sofa which is most welcome.

I mostly see people wearing masks here (indoors) except in my office. Going into the office is optional so most people only do 1 or 2 days and no-one can be bothered with masks as there are so few people around at any one time.

WouldBeGood · 27/10/2021 18:42

😃 @Wbeezer

I had to assemble hundreds of them for a holiday job in a tearoom

ssd · 27/10/2021 18:51

Use butter to make them soft

dementedpixie · 27/10/2021 19:00

I made empire biscuits during lockdown too but don't like cherries so they had a sweet instead

dementedpixie · 27/10/2021 19:06

Topped with sour skittles Grin
