I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

Oh, @forfucksakenett you should try it, yoga is amazing. And it doesn’t matter about fatness, honest. Though my fat belly gets in the way! But it’s all about doing your best and what’s right for you. It’s great for mind and body.

ElephantOfRisk · 26/10/2021 18:43

DH had an alert flash up on his screen from somewhere on Saturday saying that the Queen had died and there was a frantic bit of googling from us both that didn't reveal anything.

I think she's not been well and hasn't even been out walking her dogs.

I should maybe give yoga or something a go as well. I'm doing so little even in terms of walking that I feel that I've lost strength in my legs. I'm struggling to get back up from squatting down to look in the cupboards without grabbing on to something Sad

forfucksakenett · 26/10/2021 18:48

No she's not well at all I don't think. I'm far from a royalist but the thought of anything happening to her makes me a bit sad.

I will deffo look into some yoga. I feel myself unable to move well at all the older I get.

I was about to query whether birds eating salmon wasn't cannibalism and THAT is the effect of several nights of no sleep with a mental toddler 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Scottishskifun · 26/10/2021 18:50

Yoga is brilliant and so many different types that there is always something for everyone 😊

From yoga nidra which is all based around relaxation and breathing exercises (you don't move but it's brilliant for really relaxing I use it for insomnia) to hot yoga and everything in between!

An easy introduction to yoga or beginners yoga is usually pretty gentle.
I'm back at gentle yoga classes with it, it's not only helping strengthen my muscles after a lot of wastage but improves my lungs with the breathing exercises 😊

WouldBeGood · 26/10/2021 18:54

I like it to keep mobility and strength. The teacher at the gym is really hot in this and using every muscle, hands feet, etc. She’s also inspirationally slim and elegant

ElephantOfRisk · 26/10/2021 19:40

The birds generally get fed cat food if that helps the mental gymnastics! Dh loves his crows and how shiny their coats are...for which he takes personal responsibility.

I'm not a royalist either but I have to give complete respect to the work ethic of the queen, I hope she recovers. On a purely selfish note, there is also the fact that we are supposed to get an extra bank holiday for the platinum jubilee next June....

GrouchyKiwi · 26/10/2021 19:49

I am a royalist (I have two royal families from my various nationalities). Hope Queenie is OK.

I miss doing yoga. Sad I'm not allowed to do it because I have hypermobility and it's far too easy to stretch too far. Pilates is good when I manage it, though the dog thinks it is a game and since she's a Newfie I don't do it very often. Grin

Yoga is lovely even when you're clumsy like me.

Choir didn't want DH so he's home early enough to complete bedtime stories. (Hooray, says Selfish Grouchy.)

WouldBeGood · 26/10/2021 19:59

Totally not a royalist here, and just dreading the drama when she dies. Cannot be arsed with inherited importance

Scottishskifun · 26/10/2021 20:17

I never used to be bothered about the royal family enjoyed taking DNs to see changing of the guard but actually become more of a royalist after moving to the North East.
They bring a lot of tourism to the area along with working with a lot of local projects.

Definitely agree on the queen's work ethic I would be exhausted by her schedule and I'm in my 30s!

forfucksakenett · 26/10/2021 20:23

That's it for me @WouldBeGood - inherited importance. Can't get my mind round it.

WouldBeGood · 26/10/2021 20:24

It’s just disgusting @forfucksakenett

forfucksakenett · 26/10/2021 20:29

I really can't see it lasting. The wannabe human tampon doesn't have the same regal qualities as his mother and so I think they're on a slippery slope. He'll scale it all back and they'll not last into the turn of the next century. Potentially sooner.

forfucksakenett · 26/10/2021 20:29

Apologies for that vulgar description on this nice thread. 🙈

WouldBeGood · 26/10/2021 20:30

🤣🤣

ssd · 26/10/2021 21:20

Feeling a but better now. Just watched a programme on bbc Scotland with Ben Fogle on the Shetland islands. I really really enjoyed it. Have never really rated him before but i enjoyed this.

dementedpixie · 26/10/2021 21:29

I had the excitement of a Parent Council AGM meeting at ds's school where I was re-elected as treasurer of not very much money as covid makes fundraising harder. Not a high turnout unfortunately.

Did pump and attack earlier and have sore bum cheeks now. No classes tomorrow so I'll probably be lazy again.

Dd was in at Uni for her 1 day a fortnight that she gets to be on campus. Stayed and learned to play pool in the student union and got home at 6pm (classes finished at 1pm). Glad she's finally being a bit social.

dementedpixie · 26/10/2021 21:29

Watching bake-off now

ssd · 26/10/2021 21:32

I'd love to try yoga but a few things put me off..1. I remember when i was at college i tried yoga but at the end we had to lay on the mat and do relaxing breathing, and every single time i fell asleep Blush..i was 17 then, at 55 now I'd definitely fall asleep but i may snore now too Blush and 2.and 3. ..I'd be worried id either pee myself or fart at a very opportune moment ShockGrin..i know we're meant to be all grown up at my age and I'm sure you'll say oh we all fart and no one cares...but I'd literally die and never ever go back..

So apart from that, I'd love to try it again...

dementedpixie · 26/10/2021 21:34

I do Body Balance which is a mix of pilates, yoga, etc. I like it even if I'm not very good at it

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 26/10/2021 22:02

I should fucking think the Queen should have spent her life running around like a blue arsed fly.

She's meddled with the law to hide her personal wealth, to exempt her land in our country from taking green energy measures, and is spending a fuckton trying to save her paedophile son from cooperating with the law.

How anyone can be a royalist is beyond me. We need to get off of our fucking knees.

ssd · 26/10/2021 22:26

I couldn't agree with you more @BlameItOnTheBlackStar

sartorius · 26/10/2021 22:35

This threads taken an unexpected twistHmm

alicesfavouritepen · 26/10/2021 22:35

This is all horrific and I'm not going to lie I do keep forgetting about it. It's appalling.
