I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

@Wbeezer thars horrible about your cat. 💐 pig agility sounds fun though! My dad lives in Forfar, might even visit him and see it 🤣

WouldBeGood · 21/10/2021 19:05

Glad the garden was nice @ISpyCobraKai

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2021 19:09

The garden looks lovely Kobra. Thanks for sharing.

I managed to get two loads of washing dry, but only because it was very windy and we're quite exposed where we are.

Children were a nightmare today. I am shattered. Time for a hot chocolate, I think.

In happy news our dining chair pads have been re-covered and came home today. They're lovely and comfortable - a big relief after sitting on benches for two weeks!

Christinayangtwistedsister · 21/10/2021 19:48

The gardens look beautiful. I think I am going to watch some Homeland tonight

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2021 20:04

Does anyone have any good suggestions for a Halloween costume based on a large curly wig (brunette)? I dress up to surprise DH, and have used this wig so far to be Bellatrix Lestrange, one of the Bangles, and Brian May. Can't think of anything for this year so was going to phone it in as a Mad Scientist.

titsintiers · 21/10/2021 20:06

Mad Lizzie?

Or Gloria Estefan

FannyFifer · 21/10/2021 20:15

Hello fellow Scots. I love the Japanese gardens. A lovely wee wander.
We are just back from a few days down in England, bloody hell its waaaay colder up here eh.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 21/10/2021 20:20

The Japanese garden looks lovely!

Have any of you been to Jupiter Artland? That's a really lovely wander.

Spoke to someone from Inverness today who woke up to snow! Shock

Off to Edinburgh tomorrow for work, not looking forward to driving round the centre at all. At 7am 😴

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2021 20:21

@titsintiers

Mad Lizzie?
The hair is perfect, but I doubt DH will know who that is (neither did I, but I am a dirty furriner; he's just young). It would, however, be funny since exercise and I are hardly introduced.

Gloria is a possibility.

shouldistop · 21/10/2021 20:26

Well it was absolutely Baltic today even with the sun out so we came home for lunch instead of the park. Took big ds to the library after school.
Baby ds has a settling session at nursery tomorrow, it's his first one so I'll stay for the hour with him. Return to work is starting to feel real now.

titsintiers · 21/10/2021 20:27

Get the train@BlameItOnTheBlackStar it's not that busy at that time in the morning

ElephantOfRisk · 21/10/2021 20:49

Grouchy:

Pretty woman in the hooker phase
Prince

I'd like to @titsintiers but have a load of stuff to take with me (boxes full of stuff).

Grouchy:

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter

Now these are way better than my suggestions
shouldistop · 21/10/2021 21:11

I vote hermione! Brilliant idea elephant

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2021 21:17

DD2 is being Hermione this year. She got the robes, tie and wand for her birthday. I would absolutely have done this otherwise.

ElephantOfRisk · 21/10/2021 21:26

Could you add a beard and be Hagrid instead?

I have been thinking about that. Grin
Groovee · 21/10/2021 21:30

@Wbeezer

I was thinking of going to the Scottish Small Holding Festival in Forfar this weekend, apparently they have a team of agility pigs! I must check the ticketing details. Could do with cheering up, our dear little cat collapsed and died in front of us on Monday and were a bit traumatised, we think she had a stroke. It's put the wind up DH, she was getting on in age, overweight and rather inactive, he's decided to join the gym. I live near the Japanese Garden, it should be lovely at the moment with the autumn colour starting. In the summer they tried barbeque evenings, BYOB, the food was decent not exciting but the best bit was wandering round the gardens when it was quiet.
Sorry about your cat x
ElephantOfRisk · 21/10/2021 21:32

Oh I just saw about the cat Sad

@Scottishskifun

Aberdeenshire. It had moments of looking OK and then hail started 😂 I love proper snow but this was more wet snowflakes which switched pretty soon to sleety blurghhh. DS went to nursery with his ski trousers in his bag though 😂 we find as he's now outside for nursery so much that they help!

Need to find him some proper waterproof gloves for winter though which aren't £30 😬 as he will no doubt lose them!

Primark's 50p ones but lots of them and easily flung through the wash. The big mitten waterproof ones stop them being able to do stuff and they taken them off and lose them.
shouldistop · 21/10/2021 21:34

@Wbeezer sorry about your wee cat Sad

ISpyCobraKai · 21/10/2021 21:37

I've just read about your cat too, so sorry.
I'm a complete cat lover.
