Yes @ssd I feel a kind of relief.

ssd · 25/05/2021 21:30

Feels a bit more realistic. Im anxious about all this but even l know we need to get on with things as much as we can. Its up to us what risk we accept now. Im happy to stay out if pubs and indoors things but i know others want out, including my adult sons who need a social life again.

ElephantOfRisk · 25/05/2021 22:04

Yes ssd, we should have been able to manage our own risks for a while now, it's such a shame that you feel anxious about it but it's good you appreciate that your DC need to get back to some normality. Glad to see you got your 2nd jag so hoping that helps a bit with the anxiety you are experiencing.

ssd · 26/05/2021 09:10

Thanks @ElephantOfRisk

Bytheloch · 26/05/2021 12:46

NS name checked by Cummings. According to him, she would just go out (after COBRA meetings) and announce what she wanted.

Hmm
WouldBeGood · 26/05/2021 13:05

Who’d have thought NS would do that, @Bytheloch? 🤣

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:10

Good for her - the notion that she should wait for instruction from this band of utterly incompetent mendacious fools is ridiculous.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 26/05/2021 13:16

Thing is her timeframe was the same :s just watched Blackford on Twitter mouthing off but we locked down at the same time as the UK? Am I genuinely missing something here? We also sent people back to care homes without testing?

WouldBeGood · 26/05/2021 13:18

NS actually locked down after England did.

Leitch was all about the herd immunity too at the time.

It’s a bit rich for them to criticise the shower at WM over this to be honest as they did the same.

And the same with the care homes.

Bytheloch · 26/05/2021 13:19

Anyone recall the timeline for a certain (well known brand) Conference held in Edinburgh...anyone?

WouldBeGood · 26/05/2021 13:20

Yes! @Bytheloch I remember that now

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:25

That's exactly the thing though isn't it? She basically did nothing different, but she still caused offence by pretty much acting as leader of the country she's in charge of running...

The double standards are insane.

Bytheloch · 26/05/2021 13:25

Jason was also reassuring about his partner attending a concert, if I recall correctly. He was encouraging that, all around the same time too. It’ll no doubt be twisted accordingly though.

charliebrown59 · 26/05/2021 13:29

The NS and England strategies started to diverge a bit by the time we were coming out of the first lockdown didn't they?

I do wonder how Hancock can face himself though.

Bytheloch · 26/05/2021 13:34

They’re all as bad as each other. Hearing now that they couldn’t even all work together as four nations at the most critical time. It wasn’t a competition. It still isn’t. Shameful. They’re all a disgrace.

Scottishskifun · 26/05/2021 13:38

I think the phrase is those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones......

No difference between NS lockdown start and WM other than schools a day earlier. Same with care homes they did the same.

I don't think there is any moral highground. Cummings is also a snake so it's impossible to know what is truth and what is him twisting things!

WM and Scotland differed on coming out of lockdown.

charliebrown59 · 26/05/2021 13:38

Maybe there's so much lying and evasion in politics that there is no real standard of truth that any of them adheres to.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 26/05/2021 13:43

@SoMuchForSummerLove I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are saying? NS had the same info as Boris and they did the same thing so by that notion how can they muddling to WM? @Scottishskifun has it right the exit strategies where different but she chose not to act also?

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:43

Why would it be a competition though? If the WM government isn't managing to get done what leaders of the other nations can see are urgently necessary, aren't they duty bound to get the fuck on with it?

I'd rather that than they all stand together in a false and slow display of collegiality.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:45

Yes, that's what I'm saying - that they essentially did the same things at the same time and still NS is lambasted for wanting to be different and get ahead of BJ. It's such bullshit and spin.

WouldBeGood · 26/05/2021 13:48

It was coming out of lockdown where they differed.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 26/05/2021 13:49

Ah ok @SoMuchForSummerLove I get you. I actually haven't said that. I think they are all shocking and there is failures across all the politicians here.

Just seen Patrick harvie has been caught breaking the rules as well as his co leader. Nice wee pub lunch 🤦‍♀️ what I have decided is that these bloody politicians are all as bad as each other. Tory, labour, snp and greens. Do as I say not as I do.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:54

Oh no I know you haven't said it, I was talking about DC saying it. I mean, for what? Just to get a little sideswipe in. She's the leader of a country, she's allowed to do whatever the fuck she wants in devolved issues. But it's always always 'she wants to be ahead/stricter/faster/meaner/kinder/fucking whatever than BJ'.

As a narrative it's reductive shite. It probably makes up for about a third of posts on Scotsnet though! Grin

charliebrown59 · 26/05/2021 13:54

While we are at it, Macron hasn't handled covid well. Think Merkel has perhaps done better? Plenty of blame to be had.

To say nothing of myriad failures in Spain and Italy.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 26/05/2021 13:55

Oh, and the most important thing - Patrick Harvie can go fuck himself.
