Oh. @RedcurrantPuff that’s just awful 💐

Bytheloch · 17/05/2021 16:14

Really sorry @RedcurrantPuff it’s nonsense now. Absolutely no evidence coming from hospitality of last few weeks either- they would have those stats from track and trace. For anyone who lives in the south side, yards from the East Ren boundary, for example - watching all those businesses operate as planned today, must be gutting. What’s wrong with a micro level restrictions, to truly target any problem areas?

It’s also ridiculous if the hospital admissions aren’t rising in any way. It’s no different to taking a snapshot of everyone with bad hayfever on a high pollen day in June circa 2019.

That should be the answer. It won’t be as it exploits the problems in the FM constituency.
RedcurrantPuff · 17/05/2021 16:18

Thank you. It really is terrible.

My husband has had the most robust mental health of anyone I know, even through lots of personal tragedy and even he is really suffering now. Frequently sits in his pyjamas til lunchtime etc. I dread the MH fallout when this is over.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 17/05/2021 16:52

I'm sorry to hear that @RedcurrantPuff. The sheer mental stress of the last 14 months, not least the uncertainty, the frequently dashed hopes, and the fact that our basic freedoms are completely at the mercy of the SG (NS?) has broken a lot of generally very robust people, including myself. I've lived through redundancies, multiple miscarriages, my children in hospital etc. and nothing has ever had me feeling so anxious and not in control of my life as over a year of never-ending restrictions.

I really hope that we come out of this soon, and that your DH feels a bit better once life starts looking a bit more normal again. With luck there will be no uptick in hospitalisations over the next week or two, and then even NS will be forced to admit that case numbers just don't matter in the same way that they used to.

RedcurrantPuff · 17/05/2021 17:06

Thank you x

It’s just been pointed out in Twitter that there’s no Health secretary in Scotland despite the ongoing situation. That is weird, isn’t it?

Haudyourwheesht · 17/05/2021 20:14

NS and her hubby make all the decisions anyway, so probably no need for a health secretary. Or any other ministers. Just Mr & Mrs Nicola and a shower of voiceless voting monkeys.

titsintiers · 17/05/2021 20:16

I was wondering who the various role would be filled by. Angus Robertson must be high up the list for a post. The man gives me the dry boak.

Saw that on Twitter today too. I think maybe now that showbiz Jason is back on the doom messaging after his election break, we’re not meant to notice the absence of a Health Secretary?

Hmm
WouldBeGood · 17/05/2021 21:39

@Haudyourwheesht that is right enough.

Bring on the dentist! 😂

titsintiers · 18/05/2021 06:40

Having just read the news and thought about it, FM has to be voted as FM again. Then she'll appoint cabinet members. Probably this week.

Scottishskifun · 18/05/2021 12:32

Softplay was bitter sweet! My DS loved it eventually but took him half of the session not to be nervous of the surroundings and other children! I hate what the last 14 months has done to young children!

People say they won't remember and they don't know they are missing out, has no effect etc etc but that's a load of rubbish he doesn't know how to interact outside of nursery or a particular local playground and he goes from being a chatty confident toddler to being unsure and nervous because he's had zero/very little exposure!

Was lovely to see him enjoying himself eventually and I got to just sit with cake and coffee with my DM. Was so nice to do something normal!

SoMuchForSummerLove · 18/05/2021 12:35

@Scottishskifun my kids were always like that at soft play, I practically had to peel them off me while all my friends got to relax with a coffee.

Glad you went anyway; it's a start!

Scottishskifun · 18/05/2021 12:43

@somuchforsummerlove DS isn't usually like it at all he's a very loud whirlwind toddler. I think it was being in a place which he's not had much exposure to for a long time.

I really hope indoor places in Scotland which are suitable for him open soon or I can get booked into things for him when home as I hate that because he's not done normal indoor toddler stuff it makes him nervy as he's really not like it at all.

WouldBeGood · 18/05/2021 12:49

@SoMuchForSummerLove and @Scottishskifun I had one of each type!

DD used to make me go in with her 😱

Glad he got on ok in the end

SoMuchForSummerLove · 18/05/2021 13:03

Fuck I do NOT miss those days @WouldBeGood Grin

Icannever · 18/05/2021 15:23

Mine were always like that in soft play, it’s pretty overwhelming to be fair 😀

WouldBeGood · 18/05/2021 15:52

I found it terrifying 🤣🤣

SoMuchForSummerLove · 18/05/2021 16:06

We never went back after both kids came home with a sickness bug.

Those places give me the absolute boak.
