Thanks for the numbers!

Quite worrying to see how low first doses are here though it seems my jab is getting further and further away!

BettysCardigan · 21/04/2021 14:45

DH is 47 and allegedly getting his first dose by Saturday Confused

rookiemere · 21/04/2021 14:51

My friend is 49 and has an appointment for next week ( Edinburgh)

BettysCardigan · 21/04/2021 15:10

NHS Fife has four large vaccination centres opening in May apparently, it just came up on my Facebook feed.

DieSchottin93 · 21/04/2021 15:59

My parents have now had both their vaccines (65+). We've been lucky and neither of them have had any symptoms but I'm still glad they're fully vaccinated before I'm back at work on Monday.

Icannever · 21/04/2021 18:34

@BettysCardigan do you think they’ve just stopped doing vaccinations in Fife (first doses) until they open these? I don’t know anyone in Fife under 50 whose had an invite letter. Can’t really see why they need them as we have less vaccines not more now. Really confused what Fife is up to

toucancancan · 21/04/2021 18:47

I know, it's so disheartening first vaccines have slowed down in Scotland, everything is opening up and I'm so worried about catching long covid I want to get my vaccine before doing anything we are now allowed to.

BettysCardigan · 21/04/2021 20:04

Maybe @Icannever I don't know. I got mine in March as an unpaid career, which I feel weird about and like I cheated.

We're in Fife. DH is 47 and had fax 4 weeks ago. Nothing for me yet I'm 45.

Pootle40 · 21/04/2021 22:10

Vax not fax !

titsintiers · 22/04/2021 06:48

I'm sure I read that first vaccinations would drop for a few weeks because they were now trying to vaccinate the hard to reach groups like homeless etc. But I can't remember where I read that.

Ecthelion · 22/04/2021 13:55

This twitter thread has an interesting forecast of vaccine supplies. He's been doing it for a while and predications have been pretty close. twitter.com/PaulMainwood/status/1384582664976576516

Long story short is that supply is looking surprisingly OK. All of AstraZeneca until ~June is allocated to second doses but Pfizer/Moderna availability is reasonable and with Novavax and/or J&J coming available from early June that will make a big difference.

• 231 new cases of COVID-19 reported
• 23,302 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
◦ 1.1% of these were positive
• 3 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
• 12 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 93 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 2,755,175 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 898,231 have received their second dose

BettysCardigan · 22/04/2021 14:12

1.1% is excellent!

And a great amount of second doses - just over 50k. Only 2,000 first doses though which is concerning for those who are waiting.

Replays · 22/04/2021 14:25

Hospital cases now down below 100 - after seemingly plateauing for a wee bit.

Replays · 22/04/2021 14:27

I do wonder though how many have dropped off the hospital stats due to the 'tested within last 28 days'

This is interesting.....

I have a twin who lives south of London and I live in north east Scotland.

We have both been offered the same jab (AZ) on the exact same day!!!!! Weird, eh?

BettysCardigan · 22/04/2021 16:11

Ooh that is cool!

Got my vaccine date for the first week in May. Live in Edinburgh and 49. Was wondering how long I'd wait, seeing as how few first doses are currently being done.

Haydaywithbellson · 23/04/2021 18:09

Honestly @Perihelion if you would like it to be sooner, go online and see other dates are available.

Perihelion · 23/04/2021 18:38

Went online, absolutely nothing else. I was trying to change the vaccine hub, as it's about as far away from my house as possible, in the Lothian health board area and I couldn't get a slot at any other venue. I was stupidly thinking I'd go to the EICC, like my husband did.
