Great numbers again.

I see the 7 day positivity rate is 28.7 - edging closer to the 20 that Jason Leitch talked about as a WHO sign that the pandemic is under control.

Scottishskifun · 19/04/2021 14:24

Many areas have been below the 20 per 100000 rate for a long time now!

BettysCardigan · 19/04/2021 14:24

I know - Fife is taking its time but only 11 cases today or something. In almost 400,000 people....

Icannever · 19/04/2021 14:25

The hospital and icu numbers just keep going down which makes me happy 😊

reprehensibleme · 19/04/2021 14:31

Yes, good to see the reduction in numbers - we’ve had 2 cases in the last 7 days and I think many locally have pretty much given up on lockdown.....

Scottishskifun · 19/04/2021 14:37

Let's hope it gets factored in to tomorrows announcement of things past the 26th of April!

I think I've lost a lot of hope in the SG now with this all and last year I was singing their praises on controlled summer easing.

This year I'm frustrated with so many things but particularly not taking into account vaccination rates in their levels structure and the level 0 of zero cases..... 🙄 Which just isn't possible.

I don't believe in wild fire spread but we have now got to a point where their needs to be more honesty and transparency. Covid isn't going back in that box so it's what we do going forward to live with it which there has been very little information on!

WouldBeGood · 19/04/2021 14:39

Hear, hear @Scottishskifun

Sootess · 19/04/2021 16:50

I'm in Edinburgh and our numbers are tiny despite being 2nd largest city and behind on vaccines. Time to get on and open up before our businesses never recover!

dancemom · 20/04/2021 12:20

The first minister confirms a further 178 people have tested positive for Covid-19, 1.4% of the tests carried out yesterday.
This takes the total number of positive cases in Scotland to 224,092.
There are 106 people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, up two from yesterday, and 13 in intensive care, down one from yesterday.
Two more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours of people who tested positive in the last 28 days.
The total number of deaths by that measurement remains at 7,644.
As of 07:30 on Tuesday, a total of 2,750,052 people have received the first dose of the vaccine, an increase of 2,358.
In addition, 40,152 received their second dose yesterday, meaning 797,267 have so far received the second jab overall.
More than 60% of the adult population have now received at least a first dose, the first minister says.

Thanks @dancemom
Great to see positive cases well under 200

BettysCardigan · 20/04/2021 12:31

Did anybody just watch the update?

NS mentioned that anyone can order lateral flow tests to keep at home to do regular test. She said they can be ordered online, but I can't find it in the nightmare leviathan of a website.

Does anyone have a link?

LizzieMacQueen · 20/04/2021 12:34

@BettysCardigan

Did she say that was from next Monday? Maybe something will appear over the weekend.

BettysCardigan · 20/04/2021 12:35

Oh maybe! My hairdresser phoned part of the way through Grin

Thanks

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 12:37

Glasgow live saying gyms fully reopening - are classes allowed?

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 20/04/2021 12:39

@WouldBeGood individual only according to our council. I'm trying to find out if family swimming will be allowed

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 12:40

Ok thanks. Thought it sounded optimistic!

runningpink · 20/04/2021 15:19

Was there anything else announced or just what was already planned?

BettysCardigan · 20/04/2021 15:57

I think it was just confirming that what was already planned is actually going ahead.

Justmuddlingalong · 20/04/2021 16:25

This is the timeline they're aiming for. Apparently.

So level 0 just at end of summer holidays...
It's the beginning of the summer holidays-end of June?
WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 19:04

@Pootle40 oh, thanks, I’d read it as late July, not late June
