@emmathedilemma

I think "stay local" will still be within your local authority area except we'd then be allowed to travel for non-essential reasons as well as essential reasons. I dream of a day trip to North Berwick!!
That's my understanding of it too. They're just removing the "don't be leaving your house except for..." part, still need to stay within your LA to do whatever it is we're being allowed to do at the time.
WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 13:07

Thanks @Helensburghmiddleagedmum I’m very much looking forward to it. Looks like a nice hotel.

Mind you, I’ve been to Greenock- probably best to look at it from afar 😂

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 13:10

I think this might be the one that outlines the tiers that will be in place after 26th April?

rookiemere · 23/03/2021 13:10

It makes a big difference if it's guidance or legislation from 2nd April to me. I will visit other parts of Scotland if I can't be fined for it.

emmathedilemma · 23/03/2021 13:13

Actually, it says on here within local authority area.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 13:15

No one will get fined either way now. Unless flagrant mass breach

PostieModern · 23/03/2021 13:16

Hello all. I've been lurking on the last thread and thought I'd take this new one as an opportunity to join in. I'm in 'dirty' West Lothian Hmm but not the really bad (ATM) bit

Ecthelion · 23/03/2021 13:37

It's really frustrating how little clarity there is over guidance vs legislation when things are announced! My interpretation is that it's downgraded to "guidance" so no fines if you do it but I'd need to see the actual legislation to be sure and I'm not sure where that's published now.
Rae36 · 23/03/2021 13:41

I'm planning on driving across the country with my teenage son on Sunday, I want to see my gran who has been ill, she's at home now to die really so it's now or never if we want her to know we are there and it's not too upsetting for ds.
I felt like that was an okay reason to go but now it's nearly time I'm worrying about getting stopped and fined and sent home.
It's just ridiculous that I'm feeling so stupidly guilty about what's probably the last time I'll see my gran. I hate this.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 13:44

I think I these situations Rae we just have to steel ourselves to it. Not quite so desperate here but it's coming down the line and we have discussed this as a family and decided it is emotional and practical support.Flowers

Noone will get a stoic's medal when this is all over.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 13:45

It’s terrible you’ve been made to feel guilty for that. 💐

rookiemere · 23/03/2021 13:50

@Rae36 you're allowed to visit if you're delivering essential care and I would say visiting a very ill relative falls under that should you get stopped which is very unlikely

MaxNormal · 23/03/2021 13:51

My god Rae just go and don't feel guilty for a single second. It's actually pretty upsetting that you've been made to feel that way.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 23/03/2021 13:52

Rae36 no need to feel guilty. That's always been permitted. Go with our blessing.

Helensburghmiddleagedmum · 23/03/2021 13:52

lol, very true :-)
hilbil21 · 23/03/2021 13:54

@Rae36 I would say that's absolutely fine

Rae36 · 23/03/2021 13:54

I know, but then I think of all the people whose loved ones have died and they haven't seen them. What makes us special that we can break the rules?

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 13:55

I just completed this quick survey, it might be of interest to a few of you

florafoxtrot · 23/03/2021 13:57

@Rae36 - there is also an exception around end of life circumstances so you have absolutely no need to feel guilty. I'm really sorry to hear about your Gran and hope you can have a peaceful visit.

Rae. Surely, at the very least, your visit could be classed as providing assistance or support to a vulnerable person. Ffs people are permitted to visit people in prison

MaxNormal · 23/03/2021 14:17

What makes us special that we can break the rules?

Rae I don't think you are breaking the rules. And I think that people forced to die without their loved ones was deeply wrong and shocking.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 23/03/2021 14:23

Found you all. Rae in that situation you are absolutely fine to go.

jerometheturnipking · 23/03/2021 14:34

Thanks for the figures dancemom

Am I being daft, or is the decrease in hospital numbers despite the persistence of the c.500 cases a day a good thing?
