Ok, good, so it's righteous fury I'm feeling.

RaspberryCoulis · 23/02/2021 15:41

What a pile of absolute SHITE.

Schools back on 5th April! Except they won't be, because that's the first Monday of the Easter holidays and so the 19th is the best you can hope for.

Everything else closed until 27th April. Non-essential retail and hospitality closed on Christmas Eve. FOUR MONTHS with no income, no jobs.

And yes, timing to make the release a week before the election is purely a political move. Except it won't be a release, it will be back to more of the tiers bollocks.

Totally done with it. No more compliance here. Kids can have friends in the house, I'm meeting a friend to SOCIALISE not take exercise as soon as it stops pouring.

Thought I couldn't hate St Nicola of Covid any more, turns out I can.

Hello. Finding this thread pretty overwhelming to find info from and can't find anything through googling - is there a clear, concise link outlining Scotland's roadmap now?

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 15:42

@MaxNormal

Just what is the point of this now? What is the point of the vaccine rollout, of sticking to the endless, pointless, petty intrusive little rules, if there's actually no hope given and no end point of any of it fucking changing?

At least Johnson gave people so hope yesterday, and a framework of what could happen when. This was just..... shit.

I don't know if this picture will work I seen it on Twitter! She is going to destroy this country piece by piece 😢

I really wish I hadn't tuned in for that shit show, my own fault I suppose for being hopeful after Boris' plan yesterday. Two more months of lockdown then, if we all behave, we might get back into level 3. What the actual fuck is the point of the vaccines (already shown to reduce the severity of COVID massively) if they don't translate into normality?? And her answer to Jackie Baillie said it all - implied they're basing their 'near zero' approach on a Measles-type model where you suppress the virus long term through vaccination. Except that Measles is so stable it hasn't changed in decades and immunity lasts just as long which means you can do that - we already know that COVID mutates much more readily so top up vaccines will be required. The UK advisors have got this one right - it's just not feasible to try to eliminate it and we have to live with it.

Is there fuck.

If we are very good we might get crumbs before the election

Bytheloch · 23/02/2021 15:43

@onlythewildones you can book s/c accommodation in England. Helps if you have a family member who runs one too! Not the same for Scottish s/c industry as they are in level 4 until end of April.
Campsites in England can also open at that time (12 April). Everything else is down to common sense- drive into England without fear and then abide by the rules there.

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 15:43

Which is still to take place despite it still being DEADLY out there 🤷🏻‍♀️

puppychaos · 23/02/2021 15:43

@WouldBeGood Really?! Even Boris could give some actual information! Gahhh, this is so frustrating.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 23/02/2021 15:45

puppy,

Here, posted at 14:42.

Also the document itself.

Lockdownbear · 23/02/2021 15:45

She'll totally destroy Scotland. I used to be proud of my country. All in the name of what??
Freedom from England, actually I just want freedom from my council.

Lyricallie · 23/02/2021 15:46

This is crazy. I don't have kids in school so literally nothing is changing for me. My sister is a hair dresser and has had limited income since before Christmas (her busiest time of the year).

I'm in the Highlands we were tier 1 when we all went into lockdown at Christmas. I still don't understand how this is fair. I miss my family I want to go visit them. It's my FiLs 70th on 2/4. We were planning on going and even seeing them in the garden. Guess not as we can not do that trip in a day. At Christmas there were police up the A9 stopping people asking them why they were driving up to the Highlands. No idea if that's still the case.

Also some of it doesn't even make sense. You can have 4 socialising outside on 15/3 but stay at home won't be lifted until 3 weeks later...

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 15:46

There are witterings on some things, like meeting outdoors 🙄 and primary schools. Vague on everything

puppychaos · 23/02/2021 15:46

@ICouldHaveCheckedFirst Thank you!

There is no detailed road map til mid march which will go til end of April. What was released today is a brief summary of schools (15th March primary, after Easter secondary) and you can walk outside still but with 4 people then if OK after 3 weeks 6 people from 2 households max.

They will release more information end of April where they "hope" to go to Tier 3 so still no travelling outside local authorities. No shops, hairdressers etc until end of April. No information on restaurants/cafes/hotels/self catering/travel restrictions easing.

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 15:46

And all doom!! And sounding the zero Covid klaxon

MaxNormal · 23/02/2021 15:47

I'm done now too. I'll be doing whatever I like as long as I think I can get away with it.

Electrocute1980 · 23/02/2021 15:49

Nicola can fucking do one. I’m done, I can’t take anymore. My kids can have friends over to play and I will be seeing my mum and my best friend.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 23/02/2021 15:51

I feel like she's totally misread the room today. A bit of hope would have kept people going but now everyone is just going to say fuck it

Bytheloch · 23/02/2021 15:52

If it weren’t for JB asking that question and for pronouncing ‘dose’ correctly , NS wasn’t going to address the issue around Zero Covid. Thankfully she was asked. We know where this is tracking now. Level zero makes more sense now too. Project Brand zero.

OldRailer · 23/02/2021 15:53

@SteamPudding I have real concerns about our elderly family members. Isolation / separation is really taking a toll yet they are just the sort of people to want to follow the rules.

And parliament, yes. I wonder this if I watch them on tv. Another reason I try to give all news of it a miss.

Malteser71 · 23/02/2021 15:54

I would be done with this, too.

I’m so sorry for scotland today. Get in the car and drive.

MaxNormal · 23/02/2021 15:55

I think she's totally fucked up as Isurvive has said. With a bit of hope and positive news you'd be encouraged to hang on just a bit longer knowing you're on the home stretch.
This though - this will just make people give up and do what they want anyway. Because the dubious promise of Tier 3 after another eight miserable weeks is no incentive whatsoever.

dementedma · 23/02/2021 15:55

And no respite for us "non-essential" office workers who have been working from home on kitchen tables and laptops on our knees since fucking MARCH!!
Another one done with it here. I'll be meeting with any friends who aren't brainwashed by Nicola and her politics
