I would have a lot more time for NS if she stopped the pointless broadcasts and rolled her sleeves up to get the vaccines organised, albeit belatedly.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/01/2021 21:15

Not convinced the care homes are more difficult that over 80s in the community, but lets say for now they are. Carers and NHS staff would be easier than the over 80s in the community so being reasonable here, it should at least balance out. Whatever it is they are trying to sell, I'm not buying it.

@Outsidemum1 "We have moved onto the next ( easier) stage of roll out and we are actualky vaccinating way way more on a daily basis currently than England."

As I pointed out on the other thread where you made this claim, that plot from Tabby showing daily vaccinations per capita is meaningless today, because Scotland and Wales reported three days worth of data today having not reported on the weekend. If you look at England over the same time period they have managed 750k compared to our 40k, which given they have 10x the population means we're vaccinating at about 53% they are.

This is what I got when I emailed the volunteer link

No More Tiers (Enough is Enough)
Cismyfatarse · 18/01/2021 21:24

DH's promised e-Mail about an interview to get involved in vaccinating (lots of lab experience, happy to just clean but also told could be trained to do vaccine) still has not arrived.

The application stems from one in March when they were desperate for those with science degrees and lab training. Every few weeks he gets an "Are you still interested?" E-Mail.

Got a phone call. Follow up e-Mail promised to arrange an interview. Even told where he would be likely to be working.

Nothing. Not a thing.

So don't tell me they are doing all they can because, clearly, they are not.

Coquohvan · 18/01/2021 21:25

Sorry @Peppafrig I’d hoped the assistance would be more.
@Groovee pray for good results.

littlbrowndog · 18/01/2021 21:30

The flu jab roll out was chaos in Edinburgh. Total chaos. Police were called to sort out traffic jams.

Pregnant women were waiting for 2 and 1/2 hours in car to get their jabs

Sturgeon needs to get off the telly and get on with her job

Getting this vaccine out

MissEliza · 18/01/2021 21:43

Let's be honest, all over the U.K. it's not the politicians doing the hard graft getting the vaccinations to people. It's the receptionists, nurses, admin staff, volunteers etc etc. Some people high up in the U.K. government worked hard to procure the vaccinations but it's the 'little' people who will get it done. I don't want to see any politicians getting the credit.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 18/01/2021 21:47

mum's just messaged me to say "I'm sick of that fucking dentist on the telly. Another SNP cunt who loves the sound of his own voice". Grin

WouldBeGood · 18/01/2021 21:48

mum's a fucking legend. No qualifications, but no daft. Don't think there's anyone in our LA who hasn't heard of either my mum, my late gran, or my sister. They don't take no shit but everyone loves them too.

Me and my dad are wee mice though!

titsbumfannythelot · 18/01/2021 22:11

Your mum sounds like a legend. Can she be fm?

Cismyfatarse · 18/01/2021 22:15

Any chance your Mum can stand for Scottish Labour and then win the election and run things?

People like that never stand. Instead you get the self-serving sleekit ones.

Coquohvan · 18/01/2021 22:26

@MissEliza to a point yes, though each government has to have a plan for the implementation and logistics off rollout. Seems our plan is failing early on, we all want to have it running smooth as silk hopefully the troops will have that effect.
As to not wanting politicians to get credit for getting it done, they will, as will those not getting it done, will get called out.

It must be done to stop these poor souls looking like this.
Posted previously - needs seeing again as to how this has to happen ASAP.

Sleekit! Scotland has such great words to describe very specific things.

Dragonese · 18/01/2021 22:44

trauchled

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/01/2021 07:44

If ever there was a word designed for politicians - of every stripe - it's sleekit.

goodname · 19/01/2021 08:04

Finally caught up with the thread, don’t seem to have so much spare time now I’m home schooling which is actually a good thing for me. Have given up on the news and just find out everything here 😀😀

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 19/01/2021 08:14

morning everyone.

today's the day - final stage for dream job. Got the interview this morning. Didn't sleep well.

Also the day we find out if home schooling is continuing til Easter Shock Sad.

What time do we find out? is it 12.15 or later?

WouldBeGood · 19/01/2021 08:15

Good luck, @Iwillneverbesatisfied! You can do it!

Rae36 · 19/01/2021 08:17

Good luck @iwillneverbesatisfied
It's good to hear life is still moving forward for some people, I feel like we've been stuck in limboland for ever.

Lockdownbear · 19/01/2021 08:20

Question for the teachers who are on here. DS is probably dyslexic.
The school gave out two spelling lists, hard / easy. Write the words out and use then in a sentence.
Not surprising he's in the easy group. Am I being daft to think he should at least be encouraged to use the more difficult words in a sentence even if he struggles to spell them?

Dyslexic me, relys on spellcheck / predictive text but came through school learning the same words as the rest of the class.

Lockdownbear · 19/01/2021 08:21

Good luck IWill fingers crossed

goodname · 19/01/2021 08:30

Yep my dyslexic guy might be terrible at spelling. It his vocabulary is just as good as anyone’s. They are probably trying not to add too much stress to your home schooling though and your always free to do the level you want to.

Weird spelling thing with my son (10) btw. If I ask him to spell words out loud and I write them down he’s 100 times better. Same with math, brilliant in his head, can’t get it on paper. Is this standard dyslexic ness do you think or is everyone different. I keep telling his teacher this but they haven’t even let him access a laptop in class yet never mind listening to anything else I say. He had an assessment but nothing has been done that was recommended 😬
