👋🏻 day 1 of homeschooling ✅

Chances of dry January lasting 🤏

ssd · 11/01/2021 21:55

I took a large spiced rum and coke to bed at 7.30PM.

And its only Monday

Fuck.

Rae36 · 11/01/2021 21:58

Cans of spiced rum and coke are my new favourite thing. That was my drink in my early 20s. I was so excited to see cans of Morgan and coke in Tesco a while back, and now I've noticed Bacardi do a spiced version too. I've got one in the fridge but trying to wait till Friday. I will consider the week a success if I make it to Friday

Glasgow's numbers are high again. Wtf are people doing?! In saying that, the roads around us were busy yesterday, for a Sunday.

ssd · 11/01/2021 21:59

I've got a litre bottle of morgans Blush

dancemom · 11/01/2021 21:59

Tuesday tomorrow. Typically new announcement day. Are we expecting anything?

More doom and gloom.

I've forgotten what its like to look forward to something.

Today's homeschooling went better than expected. Much better than my attempts last year, but I think we might be very keen with it - lots of impressed comments and "likes" from teachers on seesaw. Definitely went for overkill on the scavenger hunts but DD is keen on "school" despite abject defiance on basic tasks like getting dressed...l

I'm seriously glad I've only got a P1 to deal with. History would be a complete nightmare as I know zero Scottish history and my local Romans didn't build walls! Could do French or German without too much pain.

Apparently the older years' English is less horrific than in England, I don't need to learn wtf are fronted adverbials, although phonics has been a shock to me - I definitely did not learn to read with them!

Slight dreading tomorrow's announcement. Hope that U12 sports don't get killed off, although the weather is also threatening to call outdoor sports off as well.

Hope everyone else survived day 1!

dancemom · 11/01/2021 22:00

Really @icanboogieboogiewoogie? The last I checked they had been coming down steadily

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 11/01/2021 22:07

360 today apparently.

anon444877 · 11/01/2021 22:07

Glad Monday is over...my dh is naively counting down the remote school days til 1 feb, he clearly hasn't been on mumsnet to test the plausibility of them going back then!

WouldBeGood · 11/01/2021 22:14

Hospitals, care homes, families flowing from that, mainl

WouldBeGood · 11/01/2021 22:14

It’s not people being Bad. It’s a virus 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh I completely agree. We've been under restrictions in Glasgow since September. We've not been allowed to buy a glass of wine in an establishment or eat out after 6 since October. Certainly not making a strong case for restrictions. And yet people are tweeting about 'covidiots' taking their children to the park. (Must have had very long lenses on their cameras to take pictures of the park from inside their own houses Grin)
WouldBeGood · 11/01/2021 22:27

Yes @icanboogieboogiewoogie I’m awfully sick of it all!

Might want to have a standby whisky for that date then!

My teacher friends mostly think March but probably after Easter is more likely.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/01/2021 22:54

Great title folks - Monday done! I find myself wishing my life away one day at a time. Went outside today to take a few bits from Christmas to the PO to be returned - essential? Maybe not , didn't even think to buy anything when in there. Still, apart from getting my boobs squished tomorrow which I can double up with bringing the bins in, that'll probably be me until click and collect groceries on Saturday.

WouldBeGood · 11/01/2021 23:01

@WaxOnFeckOff I’m guessing that’s not as exciting as it sounds 😃 Good luck

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/01/2021 23:07

Nah, definitely not that exciting @wouldbegood, stunning location of a van in a carpark too - bringing in the bins probably tops it by quite a long way.

titsbumfannythelot · 11/01/2021 23:12

Good luck with the boob squeezing tomorrow wax.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/01/2021 23:21

Thank you, I'm glad that parts of the screening services seem to be up and running. We moved dentists and DH got the first stage of his root canal done today and said new guy seems good, hopefully we'll all be able to get in for a check up soon. Grateful for the small stuff now.
