How are they actually going to enforce making it law to not allow people to travel between tiers I wonder

user1487194234 · 17/11/2020 14:52

Absolutely terrible news
Disaster for retail ,hospitality and my sanity

Possums4evr · 17/11/2020 14:53

I'm not in tier 4, and I'm not a former shielder. I can't imagine what it would be like to be heading into a secondary school next week in tier 4, being told only to be "extra vigilant".

StatisticallyChallenged · 17/11/2020 14:54

Note - East and Midlothian are not moving down until Tuesday. Those moving up move up from Friday

Mylittlesandwich · 17/11/2020 14:55

I just don't think I can do this again. I knew it was coming but I still don't think I can.

Bikingbear · 17/11/2020 14:57

What a fucking disaster.

I hope to God that SNP are out on their arrse come May. Labour get your act together so folk will vote for you.
Too many won't vote Tory just because.

Army on the Erskine bridge. 🙄

Seriously. I've played along with all this shite so far but I'm done. There is no reason for this.

anon444877 · 17/11/2020 15:02

Ugh, sad for all the people now in t4. And wahoo, now scary unenforceable police threats for travelling between tiers.

This tier system isn't working - we'd have been better off with a proper lock down earlier with a finite horizon.

Bytheloch · 17/11/2020 15:06

I’m still listening.
Question about mixed retail- Supermarkets v closed local business. They’re going to try to make it a fair system? What does that even mean?

They really have made an almighty balls up of this, haven't they?

We had a lockdown from March which peple were complying with very well. That was the opportunity to drive it very low and limit international travel. But nobody had the guts to do so, and as result we're going to end up with over a year of on/off/on/up/down/in/out/do-the-covid-cokey and nobody will comply.

When Wales tried "fairness" it was shutting off the non essential aisles in the supermarkets.
Justmuddlingalong · 17/11/2020 15:09

Possibly if independent book shops close, supermarkets can't sell books? That sort of thing, maybe.

littlbrowndog · 17/11/2020 15:09

What if you have to go between the tiers of fears for work and school and caring.

Load of bollocks

Mrsjayy · 17/11/2020 15:10

Urgh it's just urgh !

Belindabelle · 17/11/2020 15:11

Can you travel from a tier 3 to another tier 3 for shopping?

anon444877 · 17/11/2020 15:11

And worse than England where you can click and collect non essentials. We can't do that because?

NauseousNancy · 17/11/2020 15:12

Can childcare still be provided from a tier 4 to a tier 3?

littlbrowndog · 17/11/2020 15:13

40% of Scotland in tier 4

Sickofmysalary · 17/11/2020 15:13

@Belindabelle you weren’t supposed to be doing they anyway I don’t think but it’ll only be law from this week is my understanding.

StatisticallyChallenged · 17/11/2020 15:13

@Belindabelle

Can you travel from a tier 3 to another tier 3 for shopping?
The original guidance was "Exemptions for essential travel for work, education, shopping health etc; outdoor exercise; weddings and funerals; shared parenting, and transit through restricted areas. "
Bikingbear · 17/11/2020 15:16

It's just a rip roaring disaster, give it 3 weeks and no change then what???

Belindabelle · 17/11/2020 15:20

I haven’t been anywhere. Work from home, online food shop but had planned to leave the house to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Falkirk shops are crap.

I bet all the shops will be heaving this week now so I probably won’t bother anyway. It’s all a bit grim and this weather isn’t helping.

ParkheadParadise · 17/11/2020 15:21

Bloody hell tier 4 for 3 weeks.
I'm just back from Silverburn it was mobbed. Need to go shopping for a present, card and paper for dd's birthday in 2 weeks.

Mrsjayy · 17/11/2020 15:24

My parents think nothing about jumping the bus to Falkirk to Asda every other bloody dayhad to phone them and tell them they can't !

RaspberryCoulis · 17/11/2020 15:24

I do a regular thursday morning shift in a charity shop. This week's going to be... interesting.
