@WaxOnFeckOff that’s really pretty bad. Using people in poverty to further your own religious agenda is pretty fucking low

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 20:03

It is, but people don't necessarily see it like that. They think Christianity is a good thing so therefore what harm are they doing. That's pretty much the response I got when my DS went on a day bonding thing when he started high school. They did activities and then in the lunch break they were given a background about how the place came about and then asked to pray.

I was told that I knew where the activity was and therefore have assumed that praying and indoctrination was part of the deal and effectively that they didn't know why i was annoyed.

DS just sat quietly and didn't make a fuss which is exactly what I would have expected him to do but that's not the point. hey ho no harm done...Hmm

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 20:05

And I should say, I'm not saying Christianity is bad thing either. Just that it's personal choice and shouldn't be thrust upon people, particularly children without permission imo.

Perfectly happy for religious education, but worship is for those who want to.

WouldBeGood · 15/11/2020 20:14

I cannot be doing with any sort of evangelism

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 20:35

Just had a conversation about shops with DH. I've not been in one really other than supermarket but you can't try clothes on in the shop can you?

He would like new jeans for his birthday. I've said i'll order some. He says no, he wants to go and try them on. I say i'll have to order them in and you can try on at home as there is no trying on in the shop. He thinks that's a waste as he might not want them....so he'll just go to the shop and try them on - and repeat... Probably a moot point as by next weekend the shops might be shut anyway.

dementedpixie · 15/11/2020 20:38

Most changing rooms are shut so he'll find it hard to try anything on

rookiemere · 15/11/2020 20:43

@WaxOnFeckOff definitely can't try on stuff in bigger chain shops. I have tried a few things on in a local boutique shop - was slightly off putting though as anything I didn't buy got whisked off for quarantining and deep steam cleaning.

My top tip is to go out for lunch after buying while you still can and try purchases on in restaurant toilets. Last time I did this though friend and I were out for a last huzzah before closing of Edinburgh and I'd necked about half a bottle of wine, so I'm now left with three less than perfect tops that I got semi-dragooned into buying ( I'm a sucker for a good saleswomen and man were those Frasers sales assistants desperate to close the deal). But now Nicola has thoughtfully removed the temptation of the demon alcohol judgement will be unimpaired.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 20:47

ha ha @rookiemere, sounds like an adventure!

I think it was M&S he wanted and he's not beyond just stripping off on the shop floor. His "problem" in terms of the jeans is that he likes a bit of room at the crotch and also that he has been doing a lot of squats and his arse is larger than normal (already split his uniform trousers!) So he doesn't want to just buy his usual size as they are a bit nippit.

We both work all week so it would have to be the weekend for lunch/shops and might all be shut by then anyway.

titsbumfannythelot · 15/11/2020 20:51

Could I suggest some mc hammer trousers @WaxOnFeckOff? One size must fit all, surely?

rookiemere · 15/11/2020 20:52

Well that was more information about your DH than I ever wanted to know @WaxOnFeckOff Grin! I feel now I'd know him if I saw him - particularly if he was stripped off to his boxers in M&S. Please let it not be the Gyle one - I'd hate my lockdown lookie lookie lady to be upset.

Mind you DS and his pal were litter picking for Duke of Edinburgh and found used syringes in the Morningside M&S car park, somaybe standards have slipped already.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 20:55

Oh that's a good shout @titsbumfannythelot.

Now imagining him dancing about to "you can't touch this" Grin

He lives in ronhills when he isn't at work and jeans are his going out attire so of course they feel restrictive if you've been living in trackie pants or the fairly generous work trousers and when "going out" generally consists of eating. Maybe maternity trousers would be the other option?

ssd · 15/11/2020 20:57

That weird thread that got deleted, I posted on it at work, by the time I had finished and got home it went pouf!! I miss all the excitement. But I did like mn deletion message, they were mystified!!

ssd · 15/11/2020 20:59

Seems to be a lockdown being announced or starting on Tuesday this week, anyone else hear that?

Am now thinking of the Turkey pants episode of friends
WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 21:01

@rookiemere, not the gyle but that could be arranged if we were allowed to travel.

The man has no shame but is sporting a 6 pack and isn't not in his youthful prime. He shames DSs saying he is fitter than they are and it's true.

He wears a uniform for work and when the boys were small, I had to pick them up at nursery and take them to my work Christmas lunch/afternoon as we didn't have any childcare. Anyway, he finishes work and comes to the venue to collect them, a lot of alcohol had been consumed by colleagues by this point. Anyway, one clocks him in his uniform and the thinks he's a stripper... Grin

I'm just irritated I never got to read it.
WouldBeGood · 15/11/2020 21:01

Yes, @ssd abd I’m panicking. I can’t cope with that again, I just can’t.

I saved a copy..Wink

Definitely turkey pants @titsbumfannythelot

@ssd, we were told that tiers would be reviewed weekly on a Tuesday and any changes effective from the Friday. Who knows what will happen in reality though.

Matilda2013 · 15/11/2020 21:08

Did the thread get deleted for sharing thr rumoured document? I've seen a rumour with info.. And generally leaked info seems to be right so I'm all prepped to be in lockdown 😁

dementedpixie · 15/11/2020 21:08

Someone shared a letter on my fb about possible lockdown from Friday. Dont know how true it is

November Lockdown: Mibbes Aye Mibbes Naw
dementedpixie · 15/11/2020 21:09

But Friday's my birthday and dh was going to take me for lunch which will not happen if we shut down Sad

Matilda2013 · 15/11/2020 21:11

That's the same one I've seen and I'm just inclined to believe it all now. @dementedpixie it's my dads birthday too..nice gift to have new restrictions from 6am on your birthday.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/11/2020 21:14

Nope. Got deleted I guess officially for someone purporting to be another poster, getting caught out and deleting the account whilst MNHQ were looking into it.

I believe the person is at least one regular poster on here but I'm not troll hunting. I expressed concerns as did the person who's name was taken and the thread was deleted.

Matilda2013 · 15/11/2020 21:17

I was wondering if we suddenly weren't allowed to discuss the rumours.. What else is there to discuss this year? Grin

WouldBeGood · 15/11/2020 21:18

Anything on gyms?
