@WouldBeGood I know, i wondered what the bad news was when I saw that he was doing todays PPB. I thought the point of the tracing was to give info on how the spread was happening? So what's happening with that? Still seems that the only tool in the box is lockdown.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 15:24

lidlfix can she not get a test as a key worker who has to make an essential journey to visit a frail relative? If that's not good enough given asymptomatic transition at this stage she definitely needs to have a slightly raised temp!

Lidlfix · 13/11/2020 16:46

Thanks all I think I'll gently suggest that a little fib motivated by genuine good intentions is justified in her circumstances. She might not live or work in Bannockburn but could be encountering lots of people who do whilst at work.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 16:56

Absolutely! and on the presumption that she's probably negative then it brings the positive test rate in the right direction...

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 16:58

Really anyone that is concerned about giving it to a shielding person ought to be able to get a test - how can you make an informed decision otherwise?

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 18:48

Gleneagles closed down

4 million people in more lockdowns

Why is our government not really addressing why this is happening

Just gloom and doom and more threats and more business closing down

every night stuck in with kids not seeing friends or family

Central belt to go into tier 4. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

MrsAmaretto · 13/11/2020 19:03

Feeling a bit down tonight :( Meant to be a teir 1 and allowed to start having another household visit us meaning the kids could actually have a friend over and then another press release bombshell.

So if you have travelled off the islands you should not go into anyone else's house and vice versa for 14 days. So that's us fucked - my husband is due onshore on Monday. No one is going to want to let their child come here and viceversa. I've already had my hairdresser contact me to check if my husband is home for my appt next week and suggest I cancel it.

I just feel like sobbing. I thought things would improve in teir 1. First it was Teir 1 - but no indoor visits and now this ffs. Everyone up here is so strict - it's not like south where your lives are carrying on as normal and now we're going to be treated like fucking lepers cause my husband works offshore! I think I'm finally broken. Honest to god it wouldn't surprise me if the school gets int touch next week when the kids say he's back.

BlueThursday · 13/11/2020 19:06

We’ve had to find an air BnB for DH for his isolation so DD ans I can carry on with our lives. Normally he’s exempt but he passed through Denmark so that’s him properly locked up 😞

Can you do some visits before your husband returns @MrsAmaretto? Not ideal but a small consolation.

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 19:09

😥😥😥 for us all.

It seems to never end.

🍷🍷is getting opened tonight.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/11/2020 19:15

God, so much gloom and doom today - I need to stop watching the news, but if it’s not that it’s Twitter. So fed up!

💐 for everyone having a shitty time.

MrsAmaretto · 13/11/2020 19:38

Yes @littlbrowndog dog going to see friends tomorrow and Sunday. Just feeling gutted. There's no cafes where we live and I work from home, it's been stormy all week so I've not see another living adult in person since enduring a wet and cold walk last weekend. The sun starts setting at 3pm now. Teir 1 is meant to help people like me, and it's not.

There are currently 2 cases on the Shetland islands - how the hell are the restrictions appropriate?

titsbumfannythelot · 13/11/2020 19:41

They aren't, it's all bullshit

RaraRachael · 13/11/2020 19:43

Pretty shit in my neighbourhood. An elderly neighbour died and I blame these stupid bloody restrictions. His one remaining pleasure in life was to wander over to the pub in an evening for a couple of pints and a bit of banter. He's been stuck in his house since March and I'm sure he just lost the will to live seeing no end in sight to all this.

So well done SG - you preached on about keeping the older generation safe, but in his case it had the opposite effect Sad

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 19:55

This approach by the Scottish Government needs to stop. It’s ineffectual and causing so much harm.

Businesses have spent a fortune being Covid compliant. People need the gym, and company, and some kind of pleasure in life. This is just shite.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 19:56

@RaraRachael that such a sad story.

It’s destroyed my elderly relatives too..

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 20:10

Staying at home and seeing no one for months on enD is not living

2 cases in Shetland and you are locked down

Ffs

Everyone I speak to is so weary and finding it hard to care abou5 anything at all

Finding any sort of joy is so hard
I find people are changing and in a bad way.

Yet there are sturgeon and mr gloom swinney still berating us every single fucking day.

MissEliza · 13/11/2020 20:14

@RaraRachael that's so sad. It makes me think of my df, who's on his own in Glasgow. After my dm died in 2018, he found a new routine by going to the football with a neighbour and monthly whisky nights with old friends. Just simple things to make him happy. He's definitely aged more quickly since March. I'm also terrified NS will place travel restrictions and he won't be able to come to us in England.

RaraRachael · 13/11/2020 20:17

I'm seriously doubting that anybody in authority has a clue what they're doing any more.
We have abided by everything NS and JS have thrown at us - wearing masks, distancing, people losing their jobs and businesses because of lockdown despite making their premises Covid secure, elderly people being kept prisoners - the rates are still rising.
We are being led people who lecture to us like we're a bunch of naughty schoolchildren. There is no enjoyment in anything any more - work is shit, can't see anybody, "digital Christmas" to look forward you can stick that up your arse , can't go clothes shopping..........

Sorry for the rant

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 20:25

Do they even know where the infections are coming from.

If they do they should tell us

Be transparent

We having been in tier 3 for weeks and weeks

Wearing masks all that stuff

And still not good enough

They need to tell us no5 just come on telly to give us all a telling off

PapsofJura · 13/11/2020 20:26

@MrsAmaretto that’s tough really tough. Is your husband flying straight in or via Aberdeen, would that make a difference to the rules although I know you can’t pick and choose.

Maybe tomorrow take a trip into town or have some friends over just to give yourself a break.

Don’t be envious of us in the central belt as it’s shit here the only difference is that we have better weather and a threat of tier 4.

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 20:57

Friends over. What’s that 😂😂😂

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/11/2020 21:15

Another generally fed up person here! Is anyone else finding they just don't bother going out really? It just feels like a pointless effort at the moment - not allowed to see people, can't go out for dinner, it's just shite. We have a new house and we can't even have a bloody housewarming (Yeah yeah, my diamond shoes are too tight)

dementedpixie · 13/11/2020 21:19

I've turned very antisocial. I take kids to school and go to a supermarket and thats about it. I do exercise classes in my living room

Chickenandrice · 13/11/2020 21:27

Me too dementedpixie. I really quite like it - not sure I can be bothered socialising again
