certainly looks like it! Is there a group that hasn't been smeared so far?

dementedpixie · 13/11/2020 13:58

Which folk is it this week then? Folk celebrating football results?

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:00

Well at least we now know the expected level of infection to be able to visit someone, somewhere lower than 25 per 100k over 7 days and also being an island. Highlands is sitting about 25 and they were excluded so nay chance really. Stirling will end up as a 4 soon too despite being around the 60/70 mark or lower for months. We have an outbreak in a care home. They've set up extra testing in the area this weekend so basically that's us fucked.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:02

defo football supporters this week, then toddlers licking play equipment? Can't say school children of course, then we'll be onto shoppers getting stuff in for Christmas, back to students, then house visits over Christmas?

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:04

might as well employ distraction techniques from the news this side of Christmas, it'll be one lot of nonsense after another until the vaccine arrives. I'll eat my hat if I get to have an indoor playdate and/or friend or family member round in 2020 outside of some Christmas Day truce.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:05

don't forget warehouse staff, they'll be due a turn into the run up to christmas, whilst busily fulfilling people's online orders.

Lidlfix · 13/11/2020 14:10

Wax - where can I find out about extra testing in Stirling? A friend really needs this I haven't a clue as can (supposedly ) access this through work?

Sorry for rudely interruptingBlush

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:12

No woriies @Lidlfix I saw it on Central FM PB page.

I think you still need an appointment though. I'll see if I can get a photo of the post to add here

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:17

gah can't get screenshot to post - try here. someone in the comments has given details of how to book.

www.facebook.com/centralfm/

There is still the walk in on the other side of the bridge at the train station too.

yes, I have a friend who works in one and now they have to wear a mask all night on the parcel dishing out thingy.
Bytheloch · 13/11/2020 14:20

You’ve forgotten Santa, he’ll no doubt be named and shamed as a super spreader...

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:24

Oh yes Santa! On a serious note, how are parents going to explain/deal with santa visiting this year when they've spent 9 months dealing with restrictions and explaining these?

Is Santa going to leave presents socially distanced? I know it's a first world problem and all that, but it would be good if some consensus could be agreed on so Christmas remains magic on a shitey year.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 14:33

I’m just saying that the governments have banned Santa.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:35

@WouldBeGood

That'll save a bit of dosh. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure than mine have clocked onto Santa now that they are 19 and 20.
anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:35

santa has anti covid magic! magical beings can't catch or spread covid or any other viruses in our house...

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:37

Does that mean that the elf on the shelf is free to run ragged round the house too then?
WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 14:40

@WaxOnFeckOff 😃 I’m not that evil.. my youngest is twelve so understands it’s a joke.

Not sure about the screaming youngsters next door though....

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:46

it will extend to ALL magical beings, good point, I should mention the naughty elves. Maybe they will get up to Christmas mischief :) I could back this up with pseudo science about their genetic code and immune system being different to ours.

Lidlfix · 13/11/2020 14:47

Thanks Wax 🙏🏻. Won't be any good for my friend sadly as she's Stirling not Bannockburn or other eastern villages.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:53

I take it friend doesn't have any symptoms Lidl?

Obviously there is the test centre in Stirling. I said it was walk in, but it's not, it's walk through so you still need an appointment. If there is capacity they could "have" mild symptoms and get an appointment?

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 14:56

@WouldBeGood - i thought you were joking. I still say to mine every year that Christmas is cancelled due to lack of interest :o

@anon444877 - can't cross species surely, but keep them away from the news. Maybe it only affects mammals?

Lidlfix · 13/11/2020 15:04

No Wax she's fine but has to make an essential journey for family reasons and concerned about her potentially exposing frail relatives. She is a huge rule follower and probably carries a measuring tape for social distancing. She's a key worker (not in sector that can just request testing) so despite her own efforts can never be 100% certain.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 15:12

I see they’ve sent the hapless Swinney out to predict doom again.

More threats over Glasgow and Lanarkshire. How are people suppose to cope with the stress of this? It’s cruel.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 15:12

too much of a rule follower to simply be concerned about an invented temperature and loss of smell and book a test?
