@littlbrowndog this is what I want to know! You'd think they'd be investigating positive cases and trying to find common factors.if they are, please share!

MrsAmaretto · 13/11/2020 21:48

@PapsofJura he's into Aberdeen, heading to the airport and then after hanging about for a few hours will get his flight to Shetland.

I'll be having a friend come round for a coffee, feel like I've spent a fortune in cafes the last couple of months! Just pissed off im having to cancel my hair again (had to cancel it before as we had the audacity to self cater in Scotland during the October holidays so wasn't allowed my hair appointment incase I had dirty Scottish germs in me! )

Was looking forward to him coming hone and getting a bit of normality back and the rugs been pulled out from under me again. And at this rate by the time his 14 days is up we'll be back up a teir 😂 I mean ffs 2 cases last week and we're living like this? It's like all sense of proportion has gone out the window?

Pootle40 · 13/11/2020 21:53

Also feeling very bored and dreading the next few months. I'm not the best with Scottish winter and dark (even though I am Scottish). Kids had an in service day today - couldn't go to the cinema; couldn't go to the Olympia in Dundee as out of health board and flumes not open; can't go the ratho clip and climb as out of health board and we have to make a family booking and youngest has to be at least 8 (this is not normally a rule!). Feels like there is nothing to do and may as well stay at home and do housework and watch TV.

Just can't be bothered. Not really a 'going to park' in 9c person.

I would like to hibernate until March.

Pootle40 · 13/11/2020 21:55

Just sharing this.

@StatisticallyChallenged

Another generally fed up person here! Is anyone else finding they just don't bother going out really? It just feels like a pointless effort at the moment - not allowed to see people, can't go out for dinner, it's just shite. We have a new house and we can't even have a bloody housewarming (Yeah yeah, my diamond shoes are too tight)
yep, friends and I chatting online saying same thing. Using any excuse not to leave the house. I went and picked up my click and collect groceries last Saturday. Went out at half 1 on sunday morning to tell next door to give the noise a fucking rest and went out to bring the bins in on Wednesday - that's the sum of my outdoor adventures. At least I used to go out to hand the washing out.
WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 22:16

Thanks Pootle and those are based on saying that 92% have an underlying health condition so no guarantee that in any specific group there might have or not been an underlying condition as it's an average?
So technically the 1 person in the 30-39 category may have also had an underlying condition?

Utterly bizarre. the vast majority who have sadly died were already older than the average lifespan.

PapsofJura · 13/11/2020 22:24

@MrsAmaretto hopefully you won’t go up a tier but definitely make the most of this weekend. I really don’t envy you it’s tough up there without this but it will get better.

I’m hoping that my family get down here for Christmas as otherwise it will destroy them as there really is nothing to look forward to given that all the big events are cancelled. They are just so happy at having friends over which will make a massive difference to their mental health.

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 22:25

And I think the older age group were probably in care homes or hospitals.

MissEliza · 13/11/2020 22:34

@Pootle40 that's an excellent point about the effect of the lack of sunlight over the winter. I strangely enjoy it but I know many people suffer from the lack of sunlight.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 22:38

@RaraRachael

I'm seriously doubting that anybody in authority has a clue what they're doing any more. We have abided by everything NS and JS have thrown at us - wearing masks, distancing, people losing their jobs and businesses because of lockdown despite making their premises Covid secure, elderly people being kept prisoners - the rates are still rising. We are being led people who lecture to us like we're a bunch of naughty schoolchildren. There is no enjoyment in anything any more - work is shit, can't see anybody, "digital Christmas" to look forward you can stick that up your arse , can't go clothes shopping..........

Sorry for the rant

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 13/11/2020 22:49

What I don’t get is who are all the people “happy” with the SG’s handling and NS?

Doesn’t seem to be anyone on here and I don’t know anyone in real life either?

Why on earth is hospitality still being blamed?

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2020 22:58

I don’t know anyone either and that includes grandparents

Everyone is just like this is misery with no end in site.

And also they all hate the daily updates on telly.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 23:14

There are people for whom the SG can do no wrong but they'll justify their probable own unhappiness with saying that we are doing better than other places.

There are a lot of people still very vehement that we must distance and stick with the roolz etc. and believe that there are lots of people (well most people except themselves) out and about, partying and hugging and having a generally amazing time and the reality is very different. A lot of the people we are apparently trying to protect don't want protected. They want to enjoy what time they have left.

I am just amazed that, outside of the initial lockdown which had a specific purpose, people have been so quick to give up their rights and ability to assess their own risk.

WouldBeGood · 13/11/2020 23:18

Even the biggest SNP acolytes I know are very very quiet now.

Bytheloch · 13/11/2020 23:25

Oh no, you just poked the cinders, we’ll have the Sturgettes piling on to this threadWink

Fed up in central belt too. Funny, not funny thing is, I have some friends in England complaining already after just a few days- they weren’t aware we’d been at it for some time here with much tighter restrictions over a longer period.
Switching up to tier 4 will just be the end of the line for locally-owned hospitality and small businesses in my areaSad

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 23:45

Oh no, you just poked the cinders, we’ll have the Sturgettes piling on to this thread

I'd better go then cos I just "jump down people's throats" and am generally a bad egg all round... :o

Bytheloch · 13/11/2020 23:52

Wear that badge with pride! Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/11/2020 23:57

Polished everyday.

I'm waiting for evidence of what they accused me off and have said that I'm happy to be reported if they feel it's a personal attack rather than just simply not agreeing. Not sure what else I can do ? , I obviously never learned to play nice, my poor DM would be burling in her grave (if she had one instead of being cremated).

WouldBeGood · 14/11/2020 00:19

As I say, even the SNP faithful (including DP) are not seeming impressed

WouldBeGood · 14/11/2020 00:20

He says they’re a bunch of fuckers

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 14/11/2020 07:14

Does anyone know where I can find the election results from the last Scottish Election and by how many votes each MSP got their seat? I'm curious to know what seats will be the ones to watch next year.

What day do we find out who is going to level 4? I think it would be weird if one area is level 4 and the area next to it is level 2, because people will just travel regardless for their shopping and pub visits.

waitforitwaitforit · 14/11/2020 07:27

This is the problem. We're in one authority but the next one along is only 5 minutes walk. So if they were in 2 (they're not) we'd be really close in terms of using their facilities. This is why they're closing down bigger areas, with several authorities. I don't know how they're going to get round it. The 'Helensburgh train' situation is pretty well known. You just can't stop all people from socialising, no matter what you do.

Besides, it's mainly schools anyway.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 14/11/2020 07:56

If they put the west in tier 4 then they need to put A&B in tier 3, just because of the Helensburgh Train situation. I need my dad to stay indoors!

anon444877 · 14/11/2020 08:08

I'm trying not to think that this doesn't bode well for snp having all the powers - we've had more restrictions than elsewhere and for longer, less freedom, a threat of freedom of movement being made illegal, but I presume the goal now is to be able to say they avoided a second 'national' lockdown when the tier system is effectively delivering that.

Just hold on, we've got 6 weeks to christmas and two vaccines in the offing (I know they will take time to rollout and some limits to effectiveness) so all these shenanigans will be changed again in short order.

waitforitwaitforit · 14/11/2020 08:21

I feel sick at the thought of going into Tier 4. They've left us with so little to do. I was going to have an afternoon shopping with my mum and go for coffee and we'd booked for breakfast with Santa. That's literally it. My plans for the next two months. And that probably won't happen either. Oh but of course, I've still to go to work every day.
