October lockdown?

Hi
I can’t see another thread on this and I think it’s more Scotland than general CV related.

Any thoughts on this? I’m a teacher and there’s been no word at work but I’m hoping to go away for a week in half term (west coast) and really really hoping lockdown doesn’t happen! Selfish I know, but we need a break!

Anyone got any views on the likelihood?

I misheard, can someone clarify?

Central belt pubs are to close completely and everywhere else is 6-6 but only food and no alcohol?

Or is it 6-6 everywhere?

celtiethree · 07/10/2020 15:10

Central belt to close is what I heard.

SallySeven · 07/10/2020 15:11

She can't win tbh.

We are an unhealthy nation looking down the barrel of a gun this autumn.

Chickenandrice · 07/10/2020 15:11

It’s worrying me how scared she sounds 😕

52andblue · 07/10/2020 15:12

Is Swinney due to speak today as well?

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 07/10/2020 15:12

Did she say that you can't go out of your health board area if you are in one of the six areas but then go on to say if you've booked a half term holiday then you can?

Friendsoftheearth · 07/10/2020 15:12

It is significant. There will be terrible job losses coming from this.

And it won't work.

Nothing will - unless we do a full national lockdown - and we can't do that again. Very worrying development - especially as virus spread is so low in restaurants.

BrazenlyDefying · 07/10/2020 15:12

Outside central belt - open 6-6. between 6pm and 10pm you can only eat/drink outside. (In Scotland, in October. Hmm

In central belt - the only hospitalilty which can be open is small, unlicensed cafes. Restaurants and pubs to shut completely.

celtiethree · 07/10/2020 15:12

Plus even with no alcohol having to eat before 6 kills restaurants. Most will probably not bother to open at all, cafes are the only places likely to stay open. Well apart from all those poor central belt ones.

BrazenlyDefying · 07/10/2020 15:13

As DH said - everyone will just go to Asda for a carryout, won't they?

Friendsoftheearth · 07/10/2020 15:13

She does sound very very rattled.

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 07/10/2020 15:13

Sorry one of the five areas: GGC, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Lothian and Forth Valley.

No. She said to avoid public transport. And to consider whether your travel is really necessary.

celtiethree · 07/10/2020 15:14

Apologies cafes can stay open in central belt.

MarshaBradyo · 07/10/2020 15:15

Hard to follow need a list

Friendsoftheearth · 07/10/2020 15:16

Is it just me but NS sounds so wobbly and seems shaken.

MarshaBradyo · 07/10/2020 15:16

I assume no extra funding announced?

SallySeven · 07/10/2020 15:17

Additional funding for hospitality sector, consultations in the next days.

She's just realised what we all knew months ago - that she can't eradicate this virus.

Probably. It’s easier once you get through that thought process

SallySeven · 07/10/2020 15:19

Leanard pointing out it's unfair on places that have been trying hard.

I agree in that I've been in really careful places and others who don't seem to know anything is going on!

Justmuddlingalong · 07/10/2020 15:21

I think she's bricking it about the Alex Salmond story that's broken.

She sounds and looks knackered. Woman’s not had a day or night off since March.
LizzieMacQueen · 07/10/2020 15:23

Listened to her briefing. There's been no change to the meeting indoors ie we are still not allowed in each other's houses.

Can anyone clarify?

SallySeven · 07/10/2020 15:23

Harvie wittering on about New Zealand.
I'm away!
