Speechless and disgusted. Is it thoughtlessness? Arrogance? Panic?

I actually don't think resignation would be good enough. She needs sacked and charged.

Did you read the comment before my one? That's the one I was referring to.

sonicbook · 11/10/2020 19:00

Yes. I mean the issue of her hair generally. Why was that resurrected?

OP posts:
Arkadia · 11/10/2020 19:03

I don't know. I saw your reply to someone else this morning.

sonicbook · 11/10/2020 19:03

Ah! I'm trying to work out if there is something new about it but I can't seem anything reported.

OP posts:
Arkadia · 11/10/2020 19:05

Oh, I see. No, I don't think so.
To get to the bottom of it we have to wait on the WhatsApp messages to be released Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 19:15

The resurgence is partly my fault as I posted a link with a list of SNP issues/lies/general shitty stuff and Scotslassie picked the one about doing her hair out.

My view is same as Arkadia's, is not about whether she did or didn't, it's if she lied that's the problem. And as for tying her appearance up with her being a woman and not that she is a woman in a powerful position. I think the only person that has done that is her? There are loads of blokes who care about being well groomed, just as there are women who don't care. I go for it being personality related.

God knows, i'm not her biggest fan but she does have what looks like difficult hair to manage and my view of her is never based on the fact that she is a woman or tied to her appearance.

sonicbook · 11/10/2020 19:27

I mean seriously is this where we are at? She says she never, there's no evidence to suggest she's lying, there's no hairdresser come out the woodwork, no witness reports, no suspicious sightings etc etc yet people are all in a lather about IF she lied. Wtf would make people think she did?

It's just all so bloody weird.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 19:34

Well, I guess it would only be another lie to add to the others. She would be monumentally stupid to have done so but stranger things have happened. When you see how some of the party faithful/NS fanclub are, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them were able to keep a secret tbh I'd be able to do that no bother.

But yes, that's not what we need to talk about. Back to Ferrier. I think everyone is on the same page about the need for her to go and not sit it out for 3 years, it's how that can happen that is the problem.

AnnieHoo · 11/10/2020 19:40

If Nicola Sturgeon has misled parliament about misled parliament about when she knew of sexual misconduct complaints against Alex Salmond then does the hair thing pales into insignificance?

AnnieHoo · 11/10/2020 19:41

oops I really should preview!

MumofHunter · 11/10/2020 19:54

So... moving on from the FM lying about her hair to she's what.. she gave a date but was actually told that Alex had something to tell her two days before. Oh she lied(!) She's got a million things going on, 2 days hardly makes a difference and she wasn't told the full story until he spoke with her. She's being hounded for it.
WhatsApp messages- When are you free for a word? I mean how is this a story?!
Our other Gov has given out £11b in covid related handouts to companies run by people close to them and they have their Tory pals create stories about the FM in media to distract the public from it. Confused

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 20:00

Interesting.

The MP has to have fulfilled certain criteria of wrongdoing and 1 in 10 constituents have to sign a petition

That's quite a big ask. Almost 81,000 electorate. You'd need over 8000 people to sign a petition, and someone to go door to door or stand in the local shopping centre to grab people. In the middle of a pandemic.

The recall petition (if any) is run by the Local Authority, who will open a number of centres (office hours) throughout the constituency, for anyone of the electoral register who wishes to sign.

AnnieHoo · 11/10/2020 20:03

It does matter that she lied about not knowing about it until Salmond told her because she misled parliament and she's First Minister.

MumofHunter · 11/10/2020 20:21

She misled parliament? In what way? Are you just repeating what Baroness Ruth is running with? Confused

AnnieHoo · 11/10/2020 20:27

She met with Salmond's advisor and didn't disclose that.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 20:38

You know, if someone/anyone came to me telling me about serious allegations about my former boss, regardless of their position in society and regardless of whether they came and told me/denied them to me later, I would remember that.

To say anything otherwise is completely disrespectful to the people involved, namely the women.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 20:39

MumofHunter · 11/10/2020 20:49

So she forgot a meeting , in Parliament, with Salmond's advisor saying AS wanted to meet with her to discuss a serious matter and it would relate to sexual allegations.
She detailed several meetings with AS ( the first one being a few days after meeting with the advisor, took place in NS's home and was where AS told NS he was under investigation and gave details.
Really.. why would she purposely lie and say she didn't meet the advisor? She hadn't done anything wrong. So I'm at a loss as to how she'd gain from purposely keeping the advisor meeting a secret?

  • Never mind the fact she is a lawyer so would never do this as she'd know it would be discussed in court.
WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 20:59

She sat on information about allegations of a sexual nature against the former first minister for 3 days then lied about it. I don't understand why you think that can be defended?

titsbumfannythelot · 11/10/2020 21:04

And it demonstrates, to many people, that what they are saying about enabling As' behaviour is true. Who condones that awful behaviour by nit allowing or advising women not to be alone with him. They are all complicit in my view.

MumofHunter · 11/10/2020 21:21

WaxOn she didn't 'sit' on anything It's not like a woman came to the FM and said x,y,z happened - it was Sky News conducting a probe into AS's behaviour (and subsequently the police). He wasn't an MSP at that point. I think he was doing his Russian TV programme. Would you blame Boris if he forgot an advisor said that David Cameron wanted to meet on a serious matter and it relates to allegations?
Also, he was cleared on all accounts and actually the court said the SG's investigation into allegations against him were 'unlawful and tainted by apparent bias.' So.. he was hardly given an easy ride by the SG.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 21:28

Nope, words fail me....

throwingawaymyshot · 11/10/2020 21:29

Read the Alex Massie article online. Love the comments, especially the one about NS constantly bobbing her head. thank god its not just me that is irritated by that. She always looks like she wants to nut someone.

Can't wait for the NS spitting image puppet. Jacinda one was great.

Anyway Margaret Ferrier. I wouldn't go if I were here. Is it 80 thou a year? who would give that up in this climate? Don't like SNP and think Margaret is a selfish idiot but can't blame her for holding on either.

Callisto1 · 12/10/2020 12:33

Thanks for the pettion links! I really can't muster any sympathy for Ferrier and her excuses about how she panicked and all that just make me fume!

Now that she is no longer panicked presumably she could do the honourable thing and resign!
