Speechless and disgusted. Is it thoughtlessness? Arrogance? Panic?

I actually don't think resignation would be good enough. She needs sacked and charged.

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 10/10/2020 14:48

17 and 37 on that list are linked, aren't they?

Well I couldn't possibly say....

DH and my BiL had a bit of an argument about the Ian Blackford trips as BiL says that couldn't be true or he would have heard about it...not if you only watch the BBC buddy.

The is also Humza Yousaf tweets about the stabbed gangland guy, the tweets about the protesters at the border and then the lack of tweets about the protesters at the border, wasn't there also some about women's rights/hate crime stuff, other things by Mhairi Black?

titsbumfannythelot · 10/10/2020 14:56

Just googled those tweets 🙄 insensitive at very best

prettybird · 10/10/2020 14:57

To put an alternative point of view: the reason that Ferrier/the SNP story did not continue in the same way that the Cummings/Conservative story rumbled rumbles on is that the SNP immediately condemned her unequivocally and withdrew the Whip, unlike the Conservatives who defended and made excuses for him. Hmm

The SNP can't actually sack her: that's up to the Parliamentary Standards Committee to impose a long enough sanction to trigger a Recall Petition and then enough of her own constituents to sign it. (I hope that they do and that the SNP loses the resulting by-election Wink which has flip-flopped between Labour and SNP in recent elections).

Unlike BJ who not only defended Cummings but didn't sack him - which was within his power. Confused

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/10/2020 15:03

I get that pb, and to be fair the situations are different but the difference in the way the press have treated them is glaring. Why are they not continuing to call for her to resign? Why isn't NS continuing to call for her to resign? Why is this being allowed to slink away?

prettybird · 10/10/2020 15:40

I suppose it's not news if the people who are being "attacked" are agreeing with you Wink

Although I didn't see any media reports (except in The National) about the fact that her own constituency organisation asked her to resign a few days ago. Hmm But even they can't force her and she seems to have gone to ground (although she might claim self-isolating Hmm).

As far as I am aware, Nicola is still calling on her to resign. Didn't she have another "slip" of the tongue and called her Margaret Covid again, when asked again to condemn her?

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/10/2020 15:54

I agree with the Hmm at self isolating, she apparently felt well enough to go galavanting everywhere so...

I hate the hysteria about how many people are going to die because she got on a train, I think it's all nonsense, however, in her position as being part of the setter of the rules she should be complying and being seen to comply or standing up and making a stand that it's nonsense - if that makes sense?

She'll need to watch what she is doing with the Covid Maggie as Amnesia Nic might be the next thing.

Scotslassie1 · 10/10/2020 18:36

WaxOn I've just started reading that list....
'Blackford made a trip to Skye...' - erm, he went home - ALL MPs did the same as they were told to by the commons!
'John Swinney teaching primary children about rimming etc'. I teach upper primary . The new phse does not include this. Lies.

One point says NS didn't do her own hair during lockdown. I mean come on..

Scotslassie1 · 10/10/2020 18:38

So right PrettyBird re Ferrier and the completely different stance of UK Gov vs SG.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/10/2020 18:42

I didn't write it, but that's what you took out of it?
Scotslassie1 · 10/10/2020 19:10

Och I just scanned it and thought what a lot of tripe tbh...🙈

Srictlybakeoff · 10/10/2020 19:16

@Scotslassie1 me too. Not biased in the slightestGrin

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/10/2020 19:21

Blackford made a trip to Skye...' - erm, he went home - ALL MPs did the same as they were told to by the commons! Well yes he di, but 3 days after lockdown whilst being very vocal about other people travelling during lock down, which is the point.

No idea about the phse tbh.

It's clear Nicola probably didn't do her own hair, but meh.

However you declare it tripe but people have been clearly prosecuted? Or do you think it's okay to embezzle and text young boys etc etc?

I'm not trying to get in a tit for tat about which party tells the most lies, it's not about that, it's about the fact that the media let them get away with it and the supporters don't seem to give a shit either.

titsbumfannythelot · 11/10/2020 07:39

Just saw this

Margaret Ferrier
InTheVelvetDarkness · 11/10/2020 08:55

That’s awful
No shame at all.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 11/10/2020 08:57

I can't believe she's brazening this out and saying "Covid made her do it"

PracticingPerson · 11/10/2020 08:59

Oh jeeps, that recall petition needs organising.

That's an ill-advised interview.

Sometimes you just have to admit defeat.

prettybird · 11/10/2020 09:03

The recall petition happens automatically if and hopefully when the Parliamentary Standards Committee sanctions her with 10 or more days suspension. No one else can organise it. Sad

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2020 09:04

Does that mean they are adding "acting like a self centered lying cunt" to the list of symptoms?

BrazenlyDefying · 11/10/2020 09:09

the media let them get away with it and the supporters don't seem to give a shit either.

That's it. The faithful don't seem too bothered. They can do no wrong.

PapsofJura · 11/10/2020 09:11

Wow, the woman clearly has no shame.

BrazenlyDefying · 11/10/2020 09:16

Just seen a report on the BBC website - Covid Maggie does actually hav the brass neck not to resign.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54496759

It was a blip, out of character, she panicked, wasn;t thinking straight.

This makes me so fucking cross. Rather than holding her hands up, apologising to the people who voted for her and stepping down, she does a sad face interview with the FUCKING SUN???? What a disgusting excuse for a human being. And she sees no reason why she shouldn't continue as a MP.

Over to you, the voters of Rutherglen and Hamilton West. Get her out.

InTheVelvetDarkness · 11/10/2020 09:24

She is awful.
It really annoys me.

So if I had a lapse of judgement at work and had been for a Covid test then forgot to wear PPE while working with vulnerable patients etc would I be able to say “ oh I forgot , It made me confused “
No it would be unacceptable and I would have broken rules and I would probably be sacked.

She should be upholding the rules but she blatantly broke the rules.

Can she not be criminally charged / fined for breaking the rules then procedures started to vote her out ?

I don’t stay in her constituents area but I would certainly sign a petition to make her resign.

She has zero shame.

billysboy · 11/10/2020 09:30

she needs sacking , not resigning with pension etc

sonicbook · 11/10/2020 09:37

Literally everything in that list has been reported by the media. I'm sure SNP supporters do give a shit. Have a look on Twitter and see.

I don't for a second believe the FM got a hairdresser in. Can't believe people won't stop going on about it. It's genuinely pathetic.

I'm going to work all my life to get to the highest possible position in my political career and risk it for a trim 🤣
