Totally hopeless conversation maker, only slightly rescued by being the quiet friend of the most gregarious mum in the whole school, which at least means I get invited to stuff (and quiet dd has a nice group of friends)
I watch said outgoing friend in action, she fires questions like a machine gun - she isn't, but should be, a journalist.
I'm scared of asking questions in case I ask the wrong thing/put foot in it/generally look a berk. If I do, I forget the answers quickly. I once tried a girls weekend away - I survived but needed a week of my own company to receover (silence is golden.)

I've not quite got the dedication to read all 27 pages of this but hello to everyone - off to watch The Deep now

I totally get the asking questions thing - for me, I think it's social anxiety that stops me from listening to the answers properly. Peoples' names are the WORST I must be hard wired to switch off for 3 seconds just as someone new tells me their name. Especially if I've just asked them
