Dearly Be-Chucked, we are gathered here today because, for whatever reason, our man has dumped us!

Whether we were dating, cohabiting or married, we are now to use therapist-speak well effed-off about the whole business and are desperate to regain our fabulosity.

Well, this is the place! This is where we regain our positivity, our self-confidence and eventually our mojos. We might think at the moment that we'd also like to regain our men, but that might not last long, as we'll soon realise that anyone who could put us through this does not deserve us.

Come in and start regaining your brilliance! I will be setting us exercises to complete that are based vaguely on self-help books, beauy tips and Feng Shui, or we'll just have a right good bitch until we feel completely drained and sick of the sound of our ex's names. Whatever works.

LOL at starting creating a sex profile "by accident"...

Fellow Dumpettes, I feel left out - I am the only woman in the World who does not fancy firemen. Yes, I know,I'll just let that sink in.
My dad and grandad were both firemen so although I don't find them attractive I have driven a fire engine - not much of a consolation is it ? However if anyone finds a Captain Jack Sparrow helpline where Captain Jack comes round to the house and adjusts your mainbrace or does up your spinnakers or whatever, I'm right in there.

Also a word of caution - firemen are generally aware of how attractive women find them - watch yourselves. ( I'm sorry, I sound like your mum ).

loobie63 · 20/11/2009 15:22

The book has arrived ta dah!!!!

And the postman despite dripping with rain was quite hot and in uniform decided not quite the same though gave him a small smile rather than a full beamer declaring take me I'm yours LOL

BEAUTlFUL · 20/11/2009 18:41

I get on really well with X now. We were just talking about how well it's going, and how much better we get on now. He refused to give me any dating advice though. Bastard.

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 20/11/2009 18:44

I am going to do a power clean of this house now, then run a bath, do fake tan, nails (like Loobs!) then flake out in front of TV by 9pm, in bed by 10.

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 20/11/2009 18:48

Startingover: did you buy any boots?????
I bought these patent ones yesterday. They look clunkier in that photo than they do on my feet.

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 20/11/2009 20:29

Right, that's it. I'm so off men. I have just been looking around my house and I'm going to concentrate on making this place amazing, rather than stress about boring old blokes.

I want to turn the spare room into a student bedroom so I can get a lodger. I want to frame my old columns and have them on display in the upstairs loo. I want to paint pictures, and do illustrations, and have them over the walls.

I want to redecorate the kitchen, and my bedroom. I want to reorganise the boys' room and get them bunk beds. I need to clear the garden of a billion leaves, paint the bench, get a nice plant/tree for outside the house.

Sadly, I'm a bit ADHD and easily overwhelmed so I don't know how/where/when to start, and will probably just smoke 200 cigarettes and rock from side to side with the pressure of it all instead, until a man rings me up for a date.

OP posts:
loobie63 · 20/11/2009 20:35

My god Beautiful they are such fab boots I'm jealous

Yep I'm on fire we are doing bad thing, ie drinking too much wine, esating too much chocolate and dissing men !!!

MavisGrind · 20/11/2009 20:39

Hello all (should that be Evening All given the way this thread is going all policeman-y).

Much lol at booking a fire check, I believe they keep the firemen that appear on the calendars in a special station away from the public. Also rofl at not quite making the hot-in-uniform mark when dressed as a postie!

Had a horrendous night last night, both boys up and crying/screaming leaky nappies and awful coughs. Then, as dawn broke, ds2 revealed his first tooth! So all worth it then. Hopefully tonight will be calmer.

I am another lover of boots so very impressed with buying 3 pairs at once. I was one of the lucky ones who took advantage of the Fly London 125 quid boots for 40 quid offer and very smug I was too! In fact MN is wonderful for all sorts of reasons not least because due to the discount threads on here I have cheap Fly boots and I have also got the boys Christmas presents for much cheapness (even if I have sent links of the gifts with the full price to their father).

RIght, off to drink wine and avoid children in need

MuthaHubbard · 20/11/2009 20:58

Just having a quick skim to catch up with you all....and you are all doing so well!!!!

Reason I've not been on is I've been flirting outrageously with several guys online and may have a few dates lined up!

Beautiful - i did loads of decorating on becoming single.....my house is now looking lovely and not ashamed to bring anyone back should the need arise .

I probably work with a few people mentioned on uniform dating and am in fact on there myself but am too tight to pay for it. I work with rather a lot of guys in uniform but sadly none are either a) tasty enough or b) single....not that that stops some of them!!

Bit of a sad day in work as we lost a colleague due to the floods in my county

MavisGrind · 20/11/2009 21:05

Mutha - I thought of you today with the floods. Its west of where I used to be (and north of you?) Awful pictures on the news. If I move back the place I would go has been flooded this week. My family are all in the area but thankfully on higher ground. Hope it has stopped raining with you now.

BEAUTlFUL · 20/11/2009 21:30

MUTHA! You are not allowed to stay away from here when you are flirting. That is internet version of ditching your friends for a boyfriend. You have to come on here and share!!!!! Who are they? Where did you meet? (Match?) What have they said that's lovely and when are you meeting them??

So sad about your colleague.

OP posts:
MuthaHubbard · 20/11/2009 21:30

Mavis - yes, Workington and Cockermouth seem to have had it worst....though Kendal/Keswick is getting bad now. Thankfully I live right down south and nothing too bad as yet.

glad all your family are safe and well.

has stopped for now but more on the way!

Evening Dumplings, am depressed, worn out & bootless. Shopping expedition was a bit of a disaster, had granny & 3 bored as soon as they set foot inside mall dc's.

Abandoned all v quickly & brought dc's & granny for dinner & icecream (bribery for boot shopping). Each time I attempted to try on any boots all three dc's had shoes off in a flash & were tottering around in high heels, Granny was looking on aghast, I tried to go to the zone & block it all out so that I could focus on task at hand but by the third boot stop I could no longer pretend, dc's were barefoot, hollering loudly at each other, granny had departed muttering to self, so had to have a serious chat with self & say what is this all about, am in possession of about 30 pairs of boots of all description, quiet a few still in boxes, so much to the delight of fellow shoppers I departed.

Did manage to get matching outfits & boots for dd's for xmas. Again was difficult task as had to block out ds shoeless & leaping accross all the seats to see how far he could jump, all the while hollering loudly in delight, granny was crimson with look of complete despair at this point.

Following this granny quickly departed & I proceeded to drag dc's to tesco where I purchased 2 family sized tubs of trifle.

startingovernow · 20/11/2009 22:38

Mavis, I empathise with you about dc's, my two younger dc's were awake during night aswell (coughs) & ended up in my bed, one of them jumped on my back this am when I was in a comatose state & refusing to budge & am crippled all day. on full prices to x. I am a huge fan of bargains/sales too.

Mutha, you sly old dog sneaking off & abandoning us for online flirting... agree with beauty, you need to report back, some of us with sad old lives are reliant on these updates. to hear about your colleague. We've had terrible flooding here too.

Beauty, I have a painter who happens to be single booked to arrive on Tues .

MuthaHubbard · 20/11/2009 23:19

apologise, apologise.....have only been able to get on the laptop when without kids at the mo!!!

i chatted to a guy about six months ago via plenty of fish but nothing happened as he was going to Oz for a year - he has been texting me in the hope that i'm still single when he returns in june.....

have been chatting to a local guy via facebook and may have a date either this saturday or next.

and 3 YES 3 guys from cosmopolitan dating site, one in manchester (gorgeous and well off - has horses), one in sheffield (gorgeous, has a little girl and phoned me as soon as he had my number) and one from surrey of all places (cute and v keen and thinks i am gorgeous).

so you can see i've been a tad busy!!! have been reading the thread but havent had anything to report until the last 3 days - seems men are obv like buses.......

MuthaHubbard · 21/11/2009 00:59

starting....if i recall there were some rather nice boots in tesco last time i went....maybe then you could combine your boot/trifle fetishes

loobie63 · 21/11/2009 01:36

Might as well chuck some galaxy chocolate and some wine in just to cover all cravings
angles

startingovernow · 21/11/2009 01:58

Dumplings, can't believe I'm not the only one still awake. You're not going to believe how low I've sunk, I've spent the past two hrs creating a profile & trawling the local trash talent.

I am starting over tomorrow & will refocus on my life. I will have dc's up in a few hrs. There is no purpose to this, why am I doing it?? I have no notion of dating anyone from a site!! I am looking at all the profiles & when I see divorced I'm thinking you're another lying cheating fukface!! When I see dc's, I'm thinking as above but abandoning fukwit to boot!! Anyone not separated or with dc's, I'm thinking either he's prob got a wife at home or else he must be a freak of nature that he has to go on a website to find a woman!!

I have ate my way through the full trifle, smoked about 10 cigs & wasted precious sleep hours. I've lost my way, tomorrow I'm starting anew, book in hand (the secret).

loobie63 · 21/11/2009 09:20

Morning startingover ((hug))

Hey sounds like you had a big downer on life in the early hours I hope today and your starting anew clutching the secret approach is still there.

Yes some men are lying cheating fu*wits but there has got to be some good ones out there. Maybe we don't need men at all maybe we should just accept that we are all gorgeous glamorous and far far too witty to spend time with fu*wit morons!!

Maybe you should make a list of all the things that are good about your life now and I bet you can get to at least 6 things , it worked for me I looked at my 'big me up' list and felt quietly smug.

We are all bound to have days or moments in the wee small hours when it all seems pants but this is just something we have to go through to get our lives back contented again.

I know words aren't much but if we all keep posting and ranting all that rage will go away eventually...... won't it?!!

BEAUTlFUL · 21/11/2009 13:15

Starting, I had an ever more loser-ish evening! I forgot my resolutins to do a "power clean" (FFS, what even is that?) and a beauty night. I ordered a takeaway curry, fell asleep at 10pm, woke up a 12am hen stayed up till 3am watching Wife Swap and supernanny!

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 21/11/2009 13:17

No fake-tan, no hair-condition. My toenails are still MINGING and I look horrible with v puffy eyes and a sore neck from the sofa. Plus, my house stinks as I smoked cigarettes inside (as DC aren't here till Sunday).

It's all gone so, so wrong.

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 21/11/2009 13:18

Hey Loobie, you've got a date tonight! Just think, if you wanted to, you could be having SEX in less than eight hours!

OP posts:
Caramela · 21/11/2009 16:21

Hello fellow sufferers at the hands of knobcheeses, just catching up as I have had a semblance of a social life for the past 2 days, sadly not sexy man related - out with friends ( I can report there was zero, and I do mean zero, fresh attractive male meat on display. I need to move. )

Don't lose heart Startingover, who knows what magnificent specimen of trifle bearing manhood is being propelled towards you by Fate even as I type. ( You could always lick it off his muscular body - do combinations get any better than that ? )

Beauty, I read your being 'ticked' by the speed dating men as being ' tickled' first time round - ' that's a bit forward ' I thought to myself. And power cleaning ? Noooooooooooo.

Loobie and Mutha - you lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky barstards. Jealous ? Moi ? Too chuffing true. Have a fabulous time going on your date/being chatted up.

Bollock Face update - sent a measured, reasonable, civilsed email reply to his latest milksop bleating whine ( flavour of this, thinking about everything that's gone on makes him 'terribly emotional' - yeah that's right you don't even know him but those 2 words make you want to pour sulphuric acid in his underpants ). The condensed version of my reply was essentially ' Take your head out of your arse, you self-obsessed piece of tapir mucus '. He's not taken it well, it's definitely the last time I'll hear from him. Feel sad ( waving farewell to last chance ever of cunnilingus ) but strangely empowered.
