Being a "high end" sex worker and what it means/involves

I have another thread going, in which dittany has suggested that I am a male fantasist, and therefore a liar. She says this because I have said that I am a prostitute, and generally enjoy my work, though it is not without problems. I have started this thread so that those of you who have questions about "high end" (SBG's phrase, not mine) prostitutes can ask me, directly, any questions you might have.

Please note that I am not a street-worker, I do not work in a brothel, and I have no pimp. My clients approach me via email - I do not hang out in hotel bars, and I require at least 24 hours notice of an appointment. I have no knowledge or personal experience of these other aspects of sex work.

I choose which clients I see, and can walk out at any time. I am not trafficked or abused, and have never had a violent client in eight years. I pay my taxes like any other self-employed businesswoman. I do not have any addiction to any illegal drugs, and I always use condoms with my clients. I have regular check-ups at my local GUM. While I have no direct knowledge of parlour/sauna/brothel work, I do have trusted prostitute friends with that experience, and I will do my best to furnish the information you require.

Please also note that I am not qualified or experienced enough to discuss women who are trafficked, abused, drug-addicted or so forth. I can, and am willing, to discuss my own life - I am not responsible for others.

There's an ongoing debate about whether pro-doms (fetish specialists) are actually sex workers or not, with a wide range of opinions. Basically, people who argue that fetish-for-fees is not prostitution think this is true because genital sex is usually not involved, sometimes even orgasm is not permitted.
HG: unless you are interested in and knowledgeable about BDSM, it's probably not a good idea.

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 22:58

In teh very far away past (well 20 years ago) I considered doing Escort work to bump up finances....and at the time, I am ashamed to say, I was such a slut and gave it away without money anyway...might aswell made some at the same time...
I was very promiscoues (sp?) at that time, and it was all due to very low selfesteem, etc...
I don't regrett NOT trying it out, though....because I think I would be even more ashamed of myself than I am already, iykwim...

TBH, I am not sure about the rights and wrongs of prostitution...can you really do it without distroying your soul? I really do not know if you can....something to think about, I suppose...!

hobbgoblin · 02/03/2009 23:00

Well, she goes to loads of fetish parties and stuff - her partner and she are very into S&M and she knows how much I struggle financially. She also knows I'm not bothered about sex and could do it in a detatched way if necessary. She often tells me about how she is approached to do stuff like spanking and whipping and generally being cruel to men and is offered 'gifts' occasionally for doing so. She did once get free Agent Provocateur stuff from a guy she met when she was single, simply in exchange for photographing herself wearing it.

I'd do it, but it's always her that seems to stumble across such opportunities. My life isn't like that, I get asked for coffee with the local mums but never get asked to dress up in knickers and swish my whip as a rule.

I would seriously consider it though if I could raise some cash in so doing before my DC were much older/old enough to be aware.

piscesmoon · 02/03/2009 23:01

I am glad that someone agrees Ronaldinhio! I am beginning to think I live in a parallel universe if you can sell your body to someone who doesn't care a jot about you and people think there is no shame in it!
I don't think many people would want to take their mother out and introduce her as 'meet my mother, she is a prostitute-but don't worry she is a high class one and enjoys her work'! (I can't see any difference between a high class one and a back street one except that one can charge more).

HG: then I recommend you read this it's a practical guide on safety and self-respect etc for escorts, sex workers, and people contemplating sex work: there is a fair bit of stuff about pro-domming in there.

controlfreakythecontrolfreak · 02/03/2009 23:15

i have a few ?'s op....

  • are you a hairy handed trucker?
  • do you seriously expect us to believe this guff?
  • what's with the crazed bold usage?

thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm back.

Niftyblue, I say I'm in childcare still, but that my work is confidential and cannot be discussed.

DaddyJ, yes, for me much of the work is about empathy, about understanding, about listening.

warthog, most of my work is in the evenings, either during the week or at weekends. I generally work 3 - 5 evenings a week, though business has been quieter lately, partly because of the dreaded credit crunch, partly because it's February and the Christmas bills are rolling in.

ssd, for the third time in this thread, no, my DC do not know.

MrsMattie, sadly I was not off shagging George Clooney, I was vegging on the sofa watching Corrie and that programme about binmen. Us whores have such exciting and glamorous lives lol! (Ooh, and I charge more than £100 an hour )

expatinscotland, Ok, you don't believe me and that's fine.

Ohforfoxsake, I do apologise.

beanieb, I don't do fetish work. As SGB has said, it's a specialist field. As for drugs, I have been known to share a spliff with a client, but that's it.

FairLadyRantALot yes, and it terrifies me, but I can only hope it won't happen. It's too late to not have done it, so I'll have to take the consequences if exposed in future.

rofl..controlfreak I first read hairy arsed trucker....

hobbgoblin · 02/03/2009 23:20

Bother dittany, my mobile broadband dongle thing still has the child lock on it until I go into the store so can't check your link.

Solid, I may order that book while I continue to mull over the idea.

I may not be in the best frame of mind to make a decision on such things right now. Don't think there is any reason why being pregnant would be an issue - have seen some pg porn recently, so I know it isn't!

But, but, but... the stretch marks and need for tummy tuck?

OFFS · 02/03/2009 23:20

controlfreakythecontrolfreak, no, it's up to you, helps show who I'm addressing.

OP posts:
hobbgoblin · 02/03/2009 23:24

solid, in reply to your post slightly earlier. I would be inexperienced with S&M but I have some experience of a number of fetish, er, experiences. None of which bother me, some of which I've enjoyed.

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 23:24

OFFS...now Geroge Clooney...well...I shag him for free, anytime, anyday, you get the drift....wouldn't care a bean that I am reasonably happily married ...

well enjoy your "aren't we all broadminded... talking to a real live hairy arsed trucker call girl just like that billy piper thing on the telly we're all just so modern us" thread laydeez....

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 23:25

George even...

controlfreakythecontrolfreak · 02/03/2009 23:26

hobgoblin, give yourself a good slap and go to bed. honestly.

OFFS · 02/03/2009 23:28

dittany, I've looked at your link, and can only say that it doesn't sound remotely like my life or that of other WGs I know. I liked the line about not watching porn because "It's like you watching a movie about sitting at your desk" though.

OP posts:
controlfreakythecontrolfreak · 02/03/2009 23:29

ooooh the glamour ffs.

expatinscotland · 02/03/2009 23:30

'Expat: to make decent money catering to fetish clients, you have to have a genuine enthusiasm and understanding of fetishism. If you find it wierd and ludicrous, you won't do a very good job and the clients won't come back. '

Well, yes, solid, I understand that well, having known several fetish workers.

But I was approaching this from teh angle that I don't believe the OP is a real pro, but trying to write about being one.

hobbgoblin · 02/03/2009 23:31

Oh, I wouldn't do it in this state of mind, really!

But since the thread cam up and it's not like I'd never thought of it, just thought I'd ask.

Am avoiding bed, because I can't sleep. I wouldn't be up posting drivel otherwise, honest.

Thought about it, yes. Seriouslt considered it - perhaps not.

I also wouldn't do it unless quite financially needy, i.e. I wouldn't do it to have a nice car, just to be able to afford a car iyswim.

OFFS · 02/03/2009 23:39

hobbgoblin, have you seen the SAAFE website? Lots of good advice there. But as others have said, don't allow yourself to be pressured into it, or ever do anything you're not comfortable with.

I know women who have worked as prostitutes and as far as I have knowne they have not been abused, but of course they may have been and not confided in me. For them it was a simple finanical decision, they were living on London, wanted to carry on being a teacher, nurse etc but the pay was not great enough. So once or twice a month they would shag strangers for cash. Not too dissimilar to me sleeping with my then partner to keep him happy so I could keep my London apartment and spend all my wages on shoes and champagne.

Of course such women are not the representative of all prostitutes but they do exist.
