Being a "high end" sex worker and what it means/involves

OFFS · 02/03/2009 03:16

I have another thread going, in which dittany has suggested that I am a male fantasist, and therefore a liar. She says this because I have said that I am a prostitute, and generally enjoy my work, though it is not without problems. I have started this thread so that those of you who have questions about "high end" (SBG's phrase, not mine) prostitutes can ask me, directly, any questions you might have.

Please note that I am not a street-worker, I do not work in a brothel, and I have no pimp. My clients approach me via email - I do not hang out in hotel bars, and I require at least 24 hours notice of an appointment. I have no knowledge or personal experience of these other aspects of sex work.

I choose which clients I see, and can walk out at any time. I am not trafficked or abused, and have never had a violent client in eight years. I pay my taxes like any other self-employed businesswoman. I do not have any addiction to any illegal drugs, and I always use condoms with my clients. I have regular check-ups at my local GUM. While I have no direct knowledge of parlour/sauna/brothel work, I do have trusted prostitute friends with that experience, and I will do my best to furnish the information you require.

Please also note that I am not qualified or experienced enough to discuss women who are trafficked, abused, drug-addicted or so forth. I can, and am willing, to discuss my own life - I am not responsible for others.

OP posts:

oh yeah, and baillif?? Nah, no respect there!!

expatinscotland · 02/03/2009 21:20

No, I don't think there's any shame in being a prostitute, BUT a hooker is a hooker whether she does her business from a street corner or some website.

'High end'. LOL.

LucyEllensmummy · 02/03/2009 21:23

But there is a difference though - the OP says she is safe and in control of her life. The girls on the street corner are sadly not.

MrsMattie · 02/03/2009 21:26

Is this still going on? Am I the only one trying to guess who the OP is shagging as we sit here in our PJs typing impassioned posts about her?

expatinscotland · 02/03/2009 21:29

She's honestly deluding herself if she thinks prostitution in a country where it's unregulated is safe.

MrsMattie · 02/03/2009 21:31

I don't really get how 'high end ' prostitution is any safer than being on the street? You go and meet some bloke in a hotel room/his house/whatever. He could be a complete loon. You have no protection against loons. Safe???

expatinscotland · 02/03/2009 21:31

'Am I the only one trying to guess who the OP is shagging as we sit here in our PJs typing impassioned posts about her?'

Yes, because anyone reading this thread can easily tell you she's sitting in front of her computer, typing up yet another novel about the glamourous life of the 'high-end' hooker just like the other scores of other such boring tomes out there or drafting up her undergraduate essay about being on the game.

[rolls eyes]

lalalonglegs · 02/03/2009 21:34

But SGB there is something fundamentally dishonest about having sex with people for money unlike, say, cleaning or giving out parking tickets. It is something that should be based on - at the very least - physical attraction and I find it hard to believe that a prostitute fancies every punter that comes her way. While I take your point that many women are in sexual relationships where they have little power, I don't think a prostitute, even one that has taken it up of her own free will, holds many cards either plus they carry a social stigma (fairly or unfairly) that means their work is always going to be covert and (generally) involves deceit and lies to those around them.

MrsMattie · 02/03/2009 21:37

LMAOOOooooooo.

But she could be shagging a handsome, polite, misunderstood and only slightly inadequate (but still Clooney-esque in his sexiness) man, who right this minute is finishing off his sob story about how his wife doesn't understand him, and is gearing up to rip off his shirt with wild abandon and shag the pants off this (47 yr old, average looking) high end hooker, for £100 an hour, thank you very much.

It's perfectly plausible!

I have a question, I have a question

My friend who was a hostess used to have to do weird things like dress in certain clothes, wear rubber gloves (ordinary marigolds) etc because her clients had weird fetishes. Do you do this?

also - what's the most (ballpark figure) you have made from a client in one night and what foe?

My friend had a flat bought for her in London.

Oh and lastly, are drugs ever involved?

solidgoldbullet4myvalentine · 02/03/2009 21:40

MrsMattie: well a sex worker who does outcall (such as the OP) will ask any potential client for an address and a landline phone number (or the room number if the client is in a hotel). She will then check that this is a valid number/a person of that name is staying in that hotel room. If she works for a good agency she will have agreed check-in-by-phone times with the agency, if she is an independent she will probably have a friend who fulfills this role - basically to know what time the sex worker should phone to say the job is done, to know where she is and the client's name etc.
One of the differences between high end sex workers and the poor trapped women working the streets is that the former are able to take such safety precuations, the latter are too desperate to be able to do so.

Princeonthemove · 02/03/2009 21:54

This is slightly veering off piste, but how would any of those things stop a potentially dangerous man from hurting the woman?

Why couldn't someone give false names? I may of course be bing really thick.

One thing this discussion has revealed to me is that I was very wrong in assuming much paid for sex was about illicit, hidden, risky, exciting sex. The more it is explained to me the more mundane, ordinary and fafftastic it seems, for both parties. I don't think I feel strongly enough about sex to go to such trouble, or certainly not to go to such lengths for what sounds like a profoundly pedestrian-dare I say dull?-experience.

expatinscotland · 02/03/2009 22:02

Actually, if she were any kind of 'high-end' sex worker/hooker/what have you, she'd have realised there's quite a bit more money in indulging fetishes and she wouldn't have even had to fuck them for the most part.

But of course, that doesn't make for such a good plotline because it doesn't include all the intimacy bullshit that goes with penis entering vagina (she didn't mention anal, never met a well-paid sex worker who didn't offer both Greek and Russian, IYKWIM). No one wants to read about adult babies or feet or orange kitchen gloves. It's so . . . kinky.

You need to do a bit more research, OFFS. Oh, yes, I forgot, you already are right here!

Best of luck finding a publisher, with your credit crunch/recession spin in the storyline (hubby loses job, wife sells her body to pay the bills, cue ensuing drama and intimacy and business collide/collude, etc.)

And here you all have gone and suggested plenty of endings.

MrsMattie · 02/03/2009 22:04

I know a woman who sits on people for money. Seriously. She is a large lady and sits on men for £150 a pop. I met her at a party - she's a friend of a friend who is into all this fetish nonsense, Torture Garden etc. She had some extremely funny stories to tell.

solidgoldbullet4myvalentine · 02/03/2009 22:17

Expat: to make decent money catering to fetish clients, you have to have a genuine enthusiasm and understanding of fetishism. If you find it wierd and ludicrous, you won't do a very good job and the clients won't come back.

beanieb · 02/03/2009 22:21

"she's a friend of a friend who is into all this fetish nonsense" QUOTE OF THE MONTH!

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 22:27

expat, OP actually did say no Bumsex...just thought I point that out here...

OP...you said you are hoping to soon train for a new career....are you worried that your past (well, at the moment present, but by then past) may could cause a problem for you, if revealed for whatever reason...?

piscesmoon · 02/03/2009 22:31

'There is no shame in being a prostitute either'

Really?!! I would be very ashamed. I can't see myself telling my DC's teacher, my mother or anyone for that matter. I would be absolutely mortified to think that I was a commodity that anyone could buy. I am not for sale at any price!

piscesmoon · 02/03/2009 22:33

I would be even more ashamed if it was something that I had freely chosen-I can see some justification if you have to feed a drug habit or can't feed your children, but not to choose it.

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 22:42

MrsMattie...rofl at your last post about that friend of a friend...that made me smile...

Ronaldinhio · 02/03/2009 22:44

Holy God

Right up there with santa claus and the tooth fairy

High end prostitiue who enjoys her work and choses to do so given a plethora of other similar paying roles.

Tell yourself whatever you chose to try to make yourself feel better but this is not what you would chose for a child of your own and therefore not a good enough choice for yourself.

We are worth more than a hole to the highest bidder (sorry if tmi to some)
Be ashamed, I am that we live in a society that you value yourself and your person so little

hobbgoblin · 02/03/2009 22:47

Do you think that stretch marks matter. I could do fetish - my sister keeps recommending it to me - but my stretch marks freak me out. Am I over stressing?
