FAB & GLAM PART 9 - DOES IT GET BETTER NOW!!

1000 replies

macdoodle · 22/01/2009 01:24

Started new thread guys as needed to post and old one wouldnt let me - sorry if name is bit miserable but thats how am feeling !

The police have just left
It all went tits up tonight - H found out/suspected about NM and lost it completely - was physically abusive and took my phone - best friend called the police!
Has been a hell of a night - long statement - excellent police man - who says should have called them a long time ago - gonna get the domestic violence team to ring me tomorrow - he will be arrested and probably cautioned - he seems really worried it will escalate - has put a marker on the phone for an immediate response, has adviced me to change the locks and go away for a bit if I can, and they will look at putting an alarm in the house
There is still a part of me that feels I am over reacting/is all my fault - even though an experienced police oficer is not happy about the situation!
What a mess my life has turned into

Things have settled down now, all the family crap has died down and we are not seeing too much of each other atm as he is working in London and leaving early and getting home late so he stays at his own place more often during the week which is good as I like my own space.
A month today without smoking (I did have one about a week ago after row with evil SIL) but hated it, and hated myself for smoking it!)
I've just got to try and wean myself off the patches now

WilyWombat · 10/03/2009 13:05

Im famous ohh id rather not be

What programme was that Ginny, was it the Jade series or something else?

Tanee58 · 10/03/2009 14:31

Congrats Ginnny, good luck with the patches

Wily, can I have your autograph?

LL - brill news about the HB.

Baffy, my best and oldest friend from schooldays went to Vinopolis for her 50th birthday. She's still recovering a year later ... Would be great for a meetup - but surely you wouldn't be able to drink?

McD, will pop onto your thread as soon as I can get off work.

ladylush · 10/03/2009 15:42

Vineapolis would have to be autumn for me. I did drink in my pg with ds (1-2 units a week in last two trimesters) but will be avoiding it this time.

Ginnny - admire your willpower. Keep up the good work Glad family stuff has blown over somewhat.

WilyWombat · 10/03/2009 21:22

Fine Tanee but you have to know im one of those mercenary stars who charges for an autograph

ginnny · 11/03/2009 10:49

Wily it was the Tonight programme on ITV I think. I can't believe you missed your moment of glory!!!
Thanks for all the support. I have gone down to the 10mg patches now. Nearly lit one up this morning though, ds2 was screaming blue murder at DP because he had given him the wrong breakfast, ds1 was moaning that his porridge was taking too long, then I dropped a bottle of milk and the cat was sick all at the same time . Managed to get through it but GOD I needed a fag (or a gin but that's not the done thing at 7.30 in the morning is it )
I'm glad to be at work for some peace!!

HappyWoman · 11/03/2009 11:05

ginny hope your day is going better. I know the feeling of the disaster morning.

A friend once sent me a postcard of a harassed mum and the line is 'and the cats been sick'. I will try and scan it in and post it to you on fb - well if my computer lasts that long!!
I am hoping to finally buy a new one but just cant bring myself to part with the money yet.

Baffy · 11/03/2009 12:56

Wily I saw your name on that Jade programme too! That was pretty much the only name I could make out on the thread. They never referred to mumsnet though, just about people discussing the topic on the ?internet?. Made me smile to think you?re famous. I want an autograph too!

LL I?m so pleased that the pregnancy is viable and low risk. You just keep looking after yourself and everything will be fine. Definitely agree that this lo is a fighter

And Tanee, a meet-up there would have to be after the baby is born of course! I can?t drink until the summer obviously, so it would be like putting myself through torture of the worst kind going somewhere like that when pregnant!!!
Definitely something to look forward to after the birth! Can we plan it?! Please?!!

ladylush · 11/03/2009 17:47

Yes I agree - far too torturous when you can't indulge
MacD - how are you? I see you've had quite a few replies on your thread.

ladylush · 13/03/2009 12:50

Where is everyone?

Baffy · 13/03/2009 12:54

good question!

how are you LL?

I'm feeling really well, and have a work night out tonight which I'm looking forward to

Plus H has kept to his word of putting ds first, helping me out, and keeping me out of his nightmares with OW. So can't complain at all really!

ladylush · 13/03/2009 14:04

That's great Baffy Maybe the penny has finally dropped + he may be feeling more protective of you as you are pregnant. Whatever the reason, it's good! Hope you have a good night out tonight. I was supposed to be going out tomorrow night but have been having bad headaches past 2 days so have cancelled. Dh, ds and I are going for a celebratory meal on Sunday, so that will be nice. Also, have gone public at work wrt pregnancy and have told friends/family etc. Feel much less stressed now that we have been able to tell people.

How is everyone else?

Baffy · 14/03/2009 16:36

Ah enjoy your meal LL, great news that you've told everyone. Big weight off your shoulders. Keep taking it easy x

ladylush · 15/03/2009 00:10

Thanks Baffy The icing on the cake was the letter I received from the hospital yesterday with my combined screening result saying "Low Risk".

My pregnancy however is deemed high risk due to recurrent m/c and hypothyroidism. I'm actually quite pleased because it means I'll get assigned to a Consultant and get seen more regularly.

Dior · 15/03/2009 09:43

Great news LL!

Things here swimming along fairly nicely. H ans I have been discussing 10th anniversary plans, which is reassuring for me as I am having problems losing weight at the moment and it always makes me think he will stop wanting to be with me.

ladylush · 15/03/2009 10:45

That's brilliant Dior What are you planning? Dh and I have been together 17 years this September (good month for baby to be born), married 9 years. When I type that I feel a lot older than 37!

ladylush · 15/03/2009 10:47

Erm I mean we've been together 19 years in September. My brain is addled

Dior · 15/03/2009 18:16

We've been together for 21 years . Onlyt married for nearly 10 though. H has got something planned in his head but we will be on holiday when it is the actual day.

ginnny · 15/03/2009 19:17

Wow Dior and LL - that's a loooong time!!
Glad he's keeping to his word Baffy.
I've only been with DP 4 years and already it feels more like 40

lilybubble · 15/03/2009 19:21

Hello everyone, long time no see! Hope you remember me!?! It's so lovely to see the fab threads are still going. How is everyone? I will try to have a read, but it looks loooooong!!!

As for me, all is good. I can't believe it's almost 2 years now since h left. Amazingly (to me) he is still with SG and they seem happy, and to be honest I am fine with this. He lost his job last year and although he got a new job in Dec, I haven't had any money from him since Aug, which is not exactly ideal! Most importantly though, he still is very much part of dd's life.

I am well - really, really busy with work. Have thrown myself into it and am still really loving it. It's been a godsend, I have to say. Dd is fine, in year 1 at school, and mainly enjoying it, with the odd inevitable hiccup here and there. Dating-wise, I was seeing a guy for a few months last year, an old friend, who lived in NY. All was fantastic, until one trip here, which was a little weird, and then I literally never heard from him again. That was a bit of a setback, but I have been on quite a lot of dates with different guys since then and am happy. Have dated 3 different guys in the last 2 weeks, hilariously, and am really enjoying it. So life is good.

I have missed you guys. It's nice staying a little in touch on FB - I am much better with that than with MN these days. Though I have worked hard to educate the office about MN, and as a result we have managed to set up a fantastic promotion with one of the shows we work on - Hairspray - and more in the pipeline hopefully.

Hope you are all well, and looking forward to catching up!! xx

HappyWoman · 15/03/2009 20:04

i have just booked tickets for hairspray, me and dd are going in a couple of weeks.

I went to see Billy Elliot on saturday and it was great, unfortunately DD was meant to be coming but had a ballet exam - how apt. so i took her cousin instead.

DD just about to become a teenager really wants to go and see lots of the london shows but it really is very expensive to do that often.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Me and h have not seen each other all weekend as i went to london on sat and he was given tickets to the rugby today - and he is not even a big fan. It was a good result though and he had a lovely day with an old friend.

Dior · 15/03/2009 22:16

Hi LB - lovely to see you again. Sorry NY man went wrong but hey, it was a long trip for sex

ladylush · 16/03/2009 09:24

What a glorious day yesterday
Hello LB Glad all going well with you.
Lol Dior at "a long trip for sex"

ginnny · 16/03/2009 10:26

Hi Lilybubble - great to see you again. I thought you'd forgotten us!! I do stalk see you on FB every now and then . Glad work is going so well for you (and that offer to swap jobs still stands!!)
Dior - I am really getting into the beading. I made a bracelet and earrings for dp's dds birthday and she loved them. I put pics of them on FB - I think I'm improving!
I'm loving this weather its beautiful. I've got ds2 off sick with a cold and temperature today so stuck indoors but at least I'll be able to get the washing dry!
Hope you all enjoy the sunshine. Long may it last.
