I've just received a text from MIL which I think was meant for DH and it has upset me.

Thishasupsetme · 06/11/2008 15:31

The message said 'Looking forward to Sunday, I'll pick you and DGD up at 1.30pm for X's christening, remember not to mention it to DW'
DH has told me that he is going to take DD out for a few hours on Saturday to give me some time to myself, but it looks like he is going to his family members christening and I am not invited.
I didn't know I had upset anyone. DD was christed 6 months ago now and all of his family were invited and his cousin is DD godmother.
I am really upset. I don't know if I should mention it to him or hust leave it.

Should I really call his cousin and MIL, I just threatend it. TBH I was thinking of ringing my SIL (Bros DW) to ask her to come and pick me and DD up so we can stay there for the weekend.

Oh THUM, I'm so sorry you're going through this.
"Don't want to talk about it." I bet he doesn't. How old is he?
You're clearly not going to get a good night's sleep. Make sure he doesn't either!

themoon666 · 06/11/2008 20:12

I feel so angry on your behalf THUM

muckypups · 06/11/2008 20:12

Is there a chance one of his ex's could be at the christening and mil is sparing your feelings.

Cant understand why your H is pretending to be asleep unless he has something to hide

madrose · 06/11/2008 20:12

You might not like the answer but it will be better than not knowing as you are taking back control rather than letting him piss all over you.

I'm pacing and shaking on your behalf, and i do hope that you both get though this. keep strong

themoon666 · 06/11/2008 20:12

definitely ring the godmother and the MiL... now.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/11/2008 20:12

noonki - i don't think THUM made him dinner!!

ShinyPinkPumpkin · 06/11/2008 20:13

I would get out of the house to be honest- he needs to see that he has really fucked up.

A few days space might help you all- and help you to get some truth from somebody.

I would call his cousin.

ihateliars · 06/11/2008 20:13

I wouldnt ring at all hun i would get myself round there in person, THEN u can see there faces and reactions not just a bunch of bulshit down the phone xxxxx

Bubbaluv · 06/11/2008 20:13

Incredible! Something really wrong is going on here. So sorry THUM.

MrsSanta · 06/11/2008 20:13

I am stund he doesnt give a shit well that confirms it for me. Sorry to be harsh but that is what he thinks of you and your marraige. FUCK ALL>

I would of expected him to come home asap and grovel explain all.
So sorry you are going through this, id call the cousin and ask her as well.

Greensleeves · 06/11/2008 20:13

It's quite difficult to judge whether or not you should call them, it depends so much on you and what you're like iyswim

if it were my dh/mil I would need answers NOW, tonight, and I would do whatever I had to do to get them.

muckypups · 06/11/2008 20:13

Phone the chrsitening mother, please she is your friend and she may have ans.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/11/2008 20:14

Yes phone his cousin and mother RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

Has ten minutes elapsed yet?

Then you can phone your SIL and get her to come pick you and dd up.

CarGirl · 06/11/2008 20:14

I don't think I would ring MIL - I think she would be very happy to know how powerful her influence has been perhaps?

sherby · 06/11/2008 20:14

I'll eat my sunday hat if the MIL didn't send that text to you on purpose

He is being a dick, don't mess around ask him

1, If you were invited or not and if so why not

2, Why his mother is involved in the secrecy

3, Does he honestly think she sent that text by accident

Then I would phone the mil NOT TEXT, from his phone if needs be and ask her calmly if she has a problem with you as you are very hurt and would like to know what is going on

Ruby2shoes · 06/11/2008 20:14

If he wont give you answers then he is leaving you no choice. Its the only way to get to the bottom of what is really going on.

themoon666 · 06/11/2008 20:14

Actually... no... ring some of his male relatives instead. Blokes are notoriously crap at lying when put on the spot. His female relatives will be much more difficult to trip up.

clam · 06/11/2008 20:14

Well, one of you's going to have to go, for now. I think it should be him (but not before he's told you everything), but if it has to be you and DD, then make sure you're very loud and noisy about it.

And take his wallet and mobile with you while you're at it!

feelingbitbetter · 06/11/2008 20:15

Now is the time for him to spit out the whole sorry tale. It's just getting worse for OP. I'm glad your fucking angry THUM - you don't deserve any of this shit treatment - your H should be ashamed of himself

Lizzylou · 06/11/2008 20:15

If he doesn't come down and tell you soon, I would ring his cousin/MIL.
I would also pack him a bag, I don't see why you should have to leave.
What a chicken shit he is.
Good for you, though, keep calm and get to the bottom of this.

lol clam

Bubbaluv · 06/11/2008 20:16

Go to your brother's place - sounds like you could do with some support.

Thishasupsetme · 06/11/2008 20:16

No I never made him dinner, he asked what was for dinner and I just looked at him as if to say your bollocks mate.

I'm too chicken to call them really, he hasn't come down yet.

I am going to pack a bag for DD and me and go to my db and dsil for the night. I am too upset to be here. I will come back tomorrow when he is at work.

This is the end of my marriage by the looks of it.
