Hi Everyone

I am in Australia - not been able to get computer to work that much so this is the first time i have popped in.

Fantastic break - lovely to have some sun to cheer you up but also a bit weird having a hot xmas.

New start for the new year now - DH starts his new job when we get back and i am hoping all those negative feelings i have will fade away.

I feel so much stronger as time goes by - so take hope those who are not as far on as me - but it will get easier and you will emerge a beter person - of that i am sure.

Well it is already NYE here so just getting ready for a very long day!!

Enjoy everyone and i will hopefully ger a chance to catch up early in the new year.

theladysnowlush · 30/12/2008 22:32

Lily- glad you got your gas back You must have been demented without it.

HW - hope you are having a fab time in Oz. I think you may well feel a lot better when h starts his job. I certainly did when my h started his. Though, I wasn't best pleased that the majority of his work colleagues are female....but there will always be something to feel insecure about I suppose.

Tanee58 · 31/12/2008 01:43

Hi evreyone, hope you all had good Christmases. Ours was good at my sister's but we are down for catering next year -DP is talking about doing a goose !!! I think sis has had enough of doing Christmas at hers for 9 people - there was a sense of tension in the buildup on Christmas morning between her and BIL!

DP and I still going quite well - but -despite no chances of any happy accidents, TFM and all, I do miss the wet patch we are on a 'dry' patch, not by my will, but DP's libido seems to be out to grass... .

Anyway, at least we are getting on well and he gave me some very nice pressies and talked about next year - eg cooking the goose for Christmas - so he seems to be thinking in terms of a future. But hey, we're talking about men - who knows???

But here's to a positive 2009. We are going to a wedding on Saturday of a friend of DP's who is about 60 and getting married for the first time. I met her 20 yrs ago when she was crying over some male waste of space and now here she is, tying the knot with someone she didn't then know existed - so my feeling is, there is always someone out there for us - only we may have to wait longer than we expected (actually, that could feel a bit depressing if you're still quite young .

Anyway, good night and here's to the men who are still growing up in time to give us what we need/deserve!

TimeForMe · 31/12/2008 14:42

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE XXXXX

Tanee58 · 02/01/2009 00:22

Hi everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all.

TFM lol at wet patch wishes. - sadly, no wet patches yet, but I got lots of lovely pressies from DP (I don't count the free Barry Manilow Daily Mail CD from a charity shop, but I retaliated with Val Doonican's Greatest Hits - and I know ALL the words of Paddy McGinty's Donkey).

We're off to the Lake District tomorrow for a wedding - if we survive the drive in the freezing weather, I hope to catch up with you all next week. Back to work on Monday - boo!

theladysnowlush · 02/01/2009 09:57

lol at Val Doonican My friend just returned from the Lakes. She said it was cold but beautiful. They went rock climbing on Boxing Day (which was quite mild). Great way to burn off those xmas dinner calories but I can't imagine anything I'd feel like doing less on Boxing Day........well, I suppose I could if I thought about it but ykwim Anyway, hope you have a great time

ginnny · 02/01/2009 10:48

Hi! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I'm back at work today. God knows why I didn't take today off its so quiet!
I'm pleased to say that we made it through the whole of Christmas with NO FIGHTS or drunkenness. First time ever. He went out on Boxing Day with his friends and we both went out New Years Eve and got drunk together but apart from that he hasn't been to the pub at all!
I really think we've turned the corner and feel really positive that this year will be a lot better.

I have eaten like a PIG all week and now my work trousers are tight so I'm going on a diet and will be making good use of the training on the Wii Fit!!
Hope everyone is doing OK

Great news Ginny

TFM sounds like Santa was very generous, did you have a nice Christmas? I hope so, you really deserved it.

HW how was Aus? Am very Would give anything for sunshine right now!

I had a lovely Christmas and new year, but suffered terribly from morning sickness all of the way through so didn't even enjoy my Christmas dinner. I will be having extra dinner, (and twice as much alcohol!) next year to make up for it
Ds loved every minute though and things are all good here.

Mac how's things?? You sound a million times better. Let us know your news when you can xx

Baffy · 04/01/2009 20:33

Hi Ladies

Yes Baffy, Santa was indeed very generous I must have been a really good girl this year We had a lovely Christmas thank you, although a little overshadowed by Grandma passing away on the 9th of December. She usually spent the day with us so it was a bit of a sad day as well as a happy one.

Just want to say Dior, don't let recent events get to you, no need to namechange or not post so often, you are a Teabag remember!! Dunk us in hot water and we just get stronger. All that 'stuff' over Christmas is old news now

Dior would be sad if you had to leave but don't know what happened ?

Baffy hope the sickness eases soon!

TFM glad it was a good one and hope gran was watching over you all! Had lol at your mes at New year was good!!
Hope you sticking around

PC if you lurking hope xmas went ok and keep in touch can imagine life is goin to be very stressful for you now x

TimeForMe · 04/01/2009 21:07

Don't let it get to you Dior, you ARE strong and thats final!! Consider yourself told!! As for getting your posts deleted, well, you had all the really personal stuff deleted quite a while back so if anyone fancies doing a search on you they will see some pretty good and humourous posts. On the otherhand, it may be good to get them deleted, fresh start and all that, in fact, maybe thats something I would benefit from too, DP and me are a million miles away from the couple we were when I first started posting, I think I might like rid of 'the old'.

Thank you Lily I am sure she was/is watching over us. I know it sounds daft but I keep getting little signs. I miss her though, I loved her very much, I'm thankful for all the days I had with her though, I spent many a happy afternoon listening to the tales of her life
And yes, I think I will be sticking around xx
